  • We’re gonna be doing a shoe review today! I have five different pairs of sneakers that are pretty much recommended to everybody and anybody that works twelve plus hours or are on their feet all day! We’re talkin’ #HokaOneOne , #Brooks , New Balance, #Adidas , and Asics! I really enjoyed these shoes, but they all sort of have their pros and cons, however for me, comfort sort of trumps anything. I hope the video was helpful and thank you guys for watching!!

Hello! 👋🏼 I’m super obsessed with shoes right now and I love these so much! I’m on the hunt for some leather shoes next and have Clove shoes coming in this weekend! Will definitely be filming that for y’all too 🥰 Do you have any other shoe recommendations?! ❤️

I wear the Bondi SR to clinical and iirc they're leather! They only come in black and white though. I've been wanting to try Cloves but I heard they're not as supportive and they tend to squeak. But the styles are so cute 😢

Brooks Addiction Walker Neutral leather shoes are the most comfortable for me as a nurse, especially for long 16 hour shifts with lots of steps(up to 15,000 per shift), I also have the Bondi 7 as my favorite leisure shoes, but not for work, they are too soft, your legs ache by the end of the shift, I need good quality water/liquid proof shoes, the Brooks are very high quality, last for years.
Hoka also have the Bondi SR which I think could be even better, unfortunately they don't come in a wide size, they are too narrow for me sadly.

Instantly I can tell you actually know what you're talking about when it comes to shoes and I love this video for it. This is probably the highest quality and most informative video I've watched on work shoes.
Most people who suggest shoes for working long hours will suggest by brand, not by style. I've heard people say ON running shoes were too stiff or didn't have enough cushion. When they show what shoes they wore, they often show something like the Cloud X or the Cloud 5. These are cross trainers and casual shoes respectively. They are not meant for being worn for more than a mile or so, and certainly not even for 4-hour long shifts. It is important to understand that while certain shoe brands tend to create high-quality shoes, they create shoe models that are intended for different purposes.
What people don't understand when they don't do their research is that every shoe manufacturer creates the same kinds of shoes. For example, the Hoka Bondi can be compared to the ON Cloudmonster, the Brooks Glycerin, the Asics Nimbus, or the New Balance More. These are all Max-Cushion shoes designed for long runs/work shifts.
Additionally, it's also important to note that these manufacturers make stability shoes that have firmer material on the medial part of the midsole. This is designed for people with flat/low arches that overpronate. However, for those that pronate normally, this will give unwanted support and lead to foot pain. If you do have flat arches or plantar fasciitis, opt for a stability shoe such as the Gaviota, Arahi, Cloudflyer, Cloudrunner, Kayano, GT2000, Glycerin GTS, or the Adrenaline GTS. If you really want a max cushion shoe but you have flat feet, then that shoe needs to be supplemented with an arch-support-insole.
Thank you for providing high-quality information.
PS I love you for pronouncing Hoka One One the way it's supposed to be pronounced in Maori.

    • @frederichauge9032
      @frederichauge9032 ปีที่แล้ว +5

I would also like to add that you may want to look into the Bondi SR. It's a dedicated Nurse/Kitchen shoe that is nearly identical to the Bondi 8, however, it is slip resistant and has water-resistant material on the upper.

Appreciate this video, while I don't work in nursing but my daily life just involves a lot of walking around, and it's always good to find a pair of comfy life shoes where you know you can return home and your feet are a wrangled mess of pain and blisters. I know people find Ultra Boost and other shoes really have that soft cushiony feel, I feel like too much of that can actually make my feet hurt more as it almost feels like your feet sink through and your feet end up still feeling like you hit a flat hard surface. The other issue can be that while that cushiony feeling may last a day or 2, sometimes that stuff wears out . I know for me with the ultra boost it feel comfortable at first and then gets flat. I had to find a shoe which had a balance of a good cushion, that was firm enough where it didn't feel my feet sunk straight through. I currently use the New Balance 990v5 (which currently does the job for me quite well), but was gonna ask with the Hoka Bondi 7 how are they holding after after using them for a while?

These are primarily all running shoes and each has its own type of run. The hokas are super cushioned for long comfortable runs vs the others were more pacing and short term runs hence why you had discomfort on a 12 hour shift on your feet.

I work at Chick-fil-A, that requires a LOT of standing, walking, running, etc. I’m required to wear leather nonslip shoes which offer zero support and have no cushioning, and I would come home with stabbing pains in my feet. That’s until i discovered compression socks and insoles (specifically the ones for plantar fasciitis) I’m not even exaggerating when I say it changed my life. I haven’t had any pain in my feet since.

I love Skechers, the styles that have the cooling memory foam and arch support. Around $60. Also have a pair of Vionics, they are pretty comfy too. My biggest gripe with sneakers these days is the popular style with flared soles, sticking out much wider than the uppers. So ugly. And they make your feet look bigger.

Even with compression socks my feet HURT. I bought the croc tennis shoes and my foot pain went significantly down. I just invested in the brooks adrenaline gts 22 shoes. I went to the store and none of the Asics were comfortable. I have wide feet and even sizing up, the Asics were all so tight on my foot. I ended up purchasing the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 20 after trying many different Brooks styles. The Adrenaline 20s were the only ones that felt like clouds on my feet. I wear them for all 3 of my shifts and I work 3 in a row. I never have foot pain. I've been wanting to try HOKAs. My only hesitation is I'm clumsy/have bad balance and I'm afraid I'll twist my ankle. I used to do that in my Alegrias all the time. Those hurt my feet too.

I had a lot of pain in my feet and legs from my Nikes and Hoka Arahi at the end of a long shift. I dusted off my older clunky Bondi 7 and started using them as a recovery shoe and my pain is next to none at the end of the day. Don’t mess around with other shoes, Bondi is where it’s at. Yes, they’re clunky, not my preferred running shoe, but for those of us who stand 10-12 hours a day, these shoes will save your feet.

Thanks for the review. I just purchased the New Balance Fresh Foam More v3 shoe this evening (I should have it in hand or rather on foot in a few days). It has additional padding around the ankle that the Fresh Foam 1080v11 does not have. It also has thicker foam in the sole. People I've spoken with who switched to the More v3 from the 1080v11 like it better and say it's much more comfortable. I've had foot pronation problems, ankle laxity issues, as well as knee and hip pain that seem to be linked to shoes I've used. So, I'm really looking forward to trying out the More v3's.

I struggle to with the Hoka Bondin they were ok at the very first but not supportive enough. I live my traditional Dansko clog. I may try their sneaker. I need arch support for sure. The Hoka didn't give me enough support. Inhave medium to high arches.

Thank you for this!!! I am switching careers from Human Resources. I’m going to cosmetology school and I just started working at Target part time . Omg I haven’t worked in retail in YEARRRRRS (I’m 31). Idk how I wore Toms & vans for 8 hours when I was 19 🥴. My feet are crying by 4hrs now. My body is used to sitting at a desk lol I’ve been in corporate for so long. it’s totally different to be on your feet 100% of a shift. I can’t do the vans anymore. I’m definitely investing in some comfy wide width shoes

Just bought ASICS contend 7. I’m normally a size 8.5 regular. I agree! They are super narrow and so I bought size 9.5 and they fit great and have ran in them twice, so far they’re great! I really want to try hoka before brooks heheh!

Ah thats exciting ! I might go and try on some other ones in a bigger size then 😂 The hokas are awesome but it definitely took me by surprise! I expected the brooks to be better based on first impressions lol

The Gel Contend ones I have are the best ones I have so far - the Gel Contend 5 to be exact; I bought them for my work back in 2019. I love the soles because they’re nice and bouncy and the uppers (though narrow) stretch to accommodate the width of my feet so they weren’t too tight for me. I don’t know what the Gel Contend 7 are like so I might give them a try. I also have the Gel Quantum 90 2 in black and rose gold - I love the soles but the uppers are way too tight. I like the look of the NB Fresh Foam though (I like the patterns on them - they look like something from the ocean 😝).

I had a pair of asics that KILLED my feet. My feet would pound at the end of my shift and be sore for days. They are good for exercising in but not for standing in all day. I learned that very quickly.

More V3s are legit. Thats the most comfy right now. Hoka Bondi 7 too is awesome, just that the more v3s have a nicer upper. Asics gel is overrated for me.

I switched all my tennis shoes to Hokas. I absolutely love them. Brooks are nice but I still love my Bondis. I'm thinking of switching to men's shoes in the Hokas since they said that men's are wider that's the only difference. Sometimes you can't buy Hokas in wide, and sometimes you can. I've had plantar fasciitis and the Hoka Bondis helped SO much!
