I think my orthodontics hated kids. He left the wires so long that they continually shredded my cheeks and my dentist had to cut them back. There was no compassion, to even when I did as my dentist asked, and motioned how the tooth we were trying to correct (adult canine grew in front of baby canine) was a little too high, he just pulled it down with pliers. I was in tears. Even my dentist was appalled and apologized for my experience.
I wish I could show you my journey with braces 😅 my dentist always tells me I should be the poster child for my orthodontist for how well they fixed me up 😆

I used to have braces! I'll admit I haven't worn my retainer in about 6 years, but that's because my retainer got lost in Hurricane Irma when I had to hunker down with my aunt.
They weren't the worst, but because I have Fibromyalgia, I could barely eat for a week. Took me like an hour to eat a single french fry.

@@somethingyoufound about my retainer? That would be my orthodontist I'd have to ask about but I'd likely need braces again since my teeth have changed a lot since I've had it. Can't afford that right now.
As a person who just got there braces today I can assure you that before you get braces it sounds exciting & you wanna get it *BUT WHEN YOU ACTUALLY GET THEM IT HURTS, YOU CANT CHEW THINGS WITH BRACES OR ELSE IT HURTS LIKE HELL*

I know that using a retainer after braces is vital to keep the teeth from shifting. I wonder if that one guy whose tooth was basically backwards, would shift back into that position after braces if he didn’t use his retainer?! That would be insane

I can sorta relate to the lip thing. I had a oil build up on my eyelid (I need glasses now because of it), and my parent where like "Nah it will go away tomorrow". I had for a whole year, than I need a surgery to get it off. My eyelid bled alot, I also got a black eye. My vision was crappy for a few days, but I'm ok now.

I got braces about 5 months ago and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done. My self confidence is much higher than what it was
Before I got my braces I watched this guy and it made me so excited but then it hurt for like five hours

i just got my braces on a few weeks ago and i love them!
When I was a little kid, I always wanted to take a trip in the dentist but I know when I go out I did when I was small I get a cute opening and closing chess and I put Play-Doh tips inside unwritten again then patient and make videos now I got up. I can do now I am a dentist and I really remember those times and I want to cry.😊😇😇
I actually have at top and bottom braces but my top braces have been taken off but...I have a retainer which really does help!!! Make sure to take care of your teeth peeps!

I have braces, they arent took bad. Its just when you get them tighten it hurts for a couple of days. It’s important to get braces if your dentist says so because you could have problems in the future. So just listen :)

I am seriously appalled by how many people hate braces. When I had mine I was so happy I was flashing smiles all across town as soon as I got out of the dentist's office. I was happy because I thought it as "My teeth are going to look perfect afterwards and I get to wear shiny silver stuff on my teeth for a while!" Also I was grateful my parents decided to spend thousands just to have my smile look good. It's crazy that people are ashamed of braces, they actually look cool and they are expensive and meant to make you look better in the end, so they should be considered a luxury item.

they probably hate them because of the pain and uncomfortableness that comes with them, but yeah I'm excited to wear braces too, I'm excited to have a nicer smile and be able to bite and chew food better :]
I also liked them, cause damn my teeth and jaw looked fucked up before. I also liked how braces looked and I would get my bands in multiple different colours. It was fun. I bit my mouth all the time because of my overbite and now I don’t. Though I can understand people hating the journey of braces, but loving the ending.

I had braces for 3 1/2 years, over 20 years ago and now I have to wear braces again! I'm now 44 years old! I ground my teeth down and changed my bite so much it is causing TMJ and dislocating my jaw. (I also have hyper mobile ehlers danlos syndrome) The braces are pulling my top teeth down and my bottom teeth up to change the angle of my bite and relieve the pressure on my jaw joints.
