  • Today we work on the Sloppy Mechanics New Edge 2002 Ford Mustang Twin Turbo LS Project! We perform several chassis upgrades to the car including subframe connectors, and reinforce the torque boxes, as well as fabricating the transmission mount. Looking forward to seeing Matt finish this up with the Holley Dominator, and Summit Racing Pro LS forged LS 383 Stroker.
    Thanks for watching!!

    First pair of mods for any Fox chassis that's going to see some serious horsepower - subframe connectors & torque box reinforcements! I think a lot of people don't realize that still, but these definitely aren't the most stiff or durable chassis out of the box. A little work goes a long way though.

    The intro music is a rad beat.. Ive played drums for like 28 years and you have good taste in your channel music. It is noticed🤙 Also learned a lot about racecars today... And seeing you guys keep the made in USA visible on those strap mounts, cool work.

    • @DaveScottADV
      @DaveScottADV 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's just bracing to help strengthen the housing. Otherwise they tend to bow when putting down a lot of power and doing woolies and all that.

    • @reviewcrewforyou
      @reviewcrewforyou 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably a panhard bar. Fbodies came stock with them as well

    • @DaveScottADV
      @DaveScottADV 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@reviewcrewforyou It's not a panhard bar. It's a brace welded to the housing itself. Very common in higher-horsepower mustangs with 8.8s still in them.

    Ford 351W 393ci is dirt cheap.
    Stock block bore
    Stroker crank $350
    Stock forged 351 rods
    ARP rod bolts
    Pop up 302 pistons

    • @Calvin-Nelson
      @Calvin-Nelson  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cool. I don't consider that to be cheap once you add in all the machine work and time that it takes to make all those parts play nice together, but I'm happy that you are using what makes you happy.
