    Another tool to add to my Amazon wish list.
    I really like that megger! Liked how you'd rewired that unit. That was funny how you made fun of your potential hecklers "Oh you didn't take off the wire" Loved it!

      lol people are crazy man, you know how they can get lol. I like this merger very much, I've been using it for about a year and it works really well. Thanks for the support dude.

      simple and cheap good fix, customer wants to save money and I don't blame them, that units is about maybe 16 years old.

    Nice fix bro I actually like it the way you did it better than those stupid boards Im more old-fashioned things lasted longer before they started using those damn things

      It's simple and easy, I just have to install a phase minuter and current sensing switches, I'll have everything on videos with the compressor change outs. Noth compressors have to be replaced because they are tandem

    Nice job ! I too have had situations where I've had to redesign and build control panels for large systems that have become obsolete. I am curious as to why the unit keeps eating boards and compressors though. That high suction ( back pressure) is concerning too. It almost seems like the system needs pressure regulators on the low pressure side. Great job with the panel though. Looks good, and I know you already know, but don't forget the phase monitor at least. Good luck.

    I've ripped out boards in the past an replaced them with basic controls, nothing that sophisticated, though. Good work.

    Emin 16 meg ohms to ground is good. What's the voltage for the compressor? 208volts?

    I would put your pump interlock in series with your chiller alarms so your pump shuts of when you have alarms. This will eliminate so much pump friction (hot loop)

    Emin, great video. Thanks for posting. Water was really hot to start with -- I assume it's a two-pipe system that was heating earlier in the day?

      Thanks for watching bud, yes it is a 2 pipe system that was heating earlier in the day.

    Seems like you should have checked the motor windings before you replaced all the controls. Why replace only one fuse? This may have been your fault running it without all the protection circuits. Im sure the day you rewired it there was a massive demand when it was put back in service having been off all day.

    Anything under 50 is not considered bad. 2 Meg Ohms is acceptable on Trane compressors testing at 500 volts. What voltage were you testing at? What was your compressor sump superheat?

    How are those boards worth $16,000 I could buy a super computer for less LOL. They definitely want you to buy a new system.

    • @EminHVAC
      @EminHVAC  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah that was the cost with install, I think the boards alone were about $12,000 , just insane if you ask me.
