You probably know this by now but for your steering wheel controls, you’ll need an extra wiring harness if the option is available on your radio. And your mic above your head can be reused if you wanna mess with the wires. I had a 2018 forte with a touchscreen i put in myself and it was more or less the same radio but from Sony
I tapped in to the reverse lights use positive and negative to the camera and same positive back to the radio to activate the reverse camera image on the screen! I’m guessing you didn’t send the positive wire from the reverse lights back to the radio

I have had this Deck for 3 years and have swapped it in to 5 vehicles and it still works perfect for what it is, just installed it in a 6th car I just bought and it is still working just like new , I didn't think it would last long but was wrong,best $30 used Dual I've bought
This stereo is actually pretty Dope , I just installed one in my 2008 Ford focus and linked in the backup camera and I'm impressed to be honest , the screen is responsive , it boots up wicked fast and sounds really good , I'm running Aftermarket 6x8 Memphis Audio speakers And a 12" Sony Xplode hexagon Subwoofer pushed by a 750watt pioneer Amp and everything together sounds awesome .
@@aniawhitman808 had to run a fuse jumper off the ignition fuse , then ran the amp wires , I ordered the Dash plate online at Best buy as well as the aftermarket wire harness . I have been installing systems in cars since I was old enough to drive lol . I work for a shop that does custom systems for cars & trucks , remote starters etc as well as custom lighting for all types of vehicles . Just have to make sure once the amp is wired up in the 08-11 focus to ground it to bare metal , these cars don't actually have a true ground or true power that's the reason you would have to use a fuse jumper so the stereo powers on and retains memory etc , the backup camera is a cheap Walmart one and I ran that off the rear backup positive wire and ran the ground to a screw holding the tail light in place then ran the wiring to the stereo unit .
When you turn it off does the radio stay on. I’m having problems where it wants to stay on after I turn the car off. And when I turn it off by the radio the blue light wants to stay on
What car did you install this in and did you buy the aftermarket wiring harness for your specific vehicle? The aftermarket wiring harness should plug right in to your car plugs and the other side you tape up to the radio harness it’s all color coded and easy if you bought the aftermarket wiring harness
I’m having the same issue with this not powering off. I Picked this up, wired it up using metra interface on my 07 expedition and everything worked great until I took the keys of the ignition. This radio does not shut off!! I tried switching the power with battery wires and nothing. I don’t need my battery drained because wife didn’t turn off the radio so I removed it until I can further troubleshoot. If I can’t think of anything then this is going back to Walmart.
@@TonyPazo216 I dont have the same vehicle you have. I believe the the signal for your car must be passive and not digital. I would look up the wiring diagram to locate the mic wires and tap into it. Or, see how easy it is to take the Dual mic apart (check the mic location/ distance is good for callers to hear you clear while parked and driving with windows up and down before taking it apart) after removing the mic from the plastic casing, you can wire and glue it to the factory location. Not an easy job but I personally would go that far just to make it look stock 😅. If you do take it apart you can add hot glue to the connections, this will help avoid the cables and mic get damaged.
I have one too, I’m just confused because my text messages don’t pop on the screen when I have the notifications on for CarPlay, I also have the “driving do not disturb” thing off. Also my volume buttons on the side don’t always light up. How do I fix this so I can see them at night
you have to buy a special harness to connect steering wheel controls to a aftermarket stereo i wasn’t sure if you knew that or not from video. i’ve never done it personally because luckily ive not ever had a vehicle with steering wheel buttons

Does you volume go back to 10 every time you turn the car off then turn it back on? Have you found a way to make it retain the last volume setting or change the power on volume?
@@gyujang6218 I did some research and found out that there's actually a firmware patch for it but you have to go to the website download download it onto a thumb drive and then use the USB in the radio and it's one of a couple things that fix when the firmware is updated I read through it and it sounded, complicated so I guess I'll just live with it
@@pavalentine01 Thanks, i actually did filmware update to improve screen resolution but did not do the other update which is supposed to fix this cuz i saw a comment someone tried other filmware update and the screen went black..
So you can actually add the factory steering wheel controls. You just need a PAC SWI-CP2 harness. Also if you want your factory USB for caraway. Another module adapter HYKIA-USB by Metra. Both are on Crutchfield.
What you mean? Plug your phone in to the usb and all calls and messages go to the radio display CarPlay if your on iPhone android auto if your on android

Na, there is a way, you can get the switch off of amizon si all u have to do while driving is turn the switch and then you'll have view!, to install just ask around or go on youtube I think theres a few, not a lot but a few vids on this matter!😎
There's a yellow a/v rca in the back next to the camera rca. If you Get a 1F-2M rca splitter, you can still have your reverse trigger, and also be able to switch the camera on manually

You need to run positive to the camera and positive back to the radio to activate the backup camera display. So what I did was I tapped into the reverse bulb positive and negative I ran both to the backup camera and same positive to the radio backup wire

There are tons of videos on TH-cam to show you how to connect a backup camera. It's pretty much all the same. You need a power to the camera and you need another power going back to the head unit to activate the display

Then found out the antenna adapter was the wrong one too so I’m waiting on that to come in. As soon as it’s in I’ll let you know how well it preforms

You have to have a steering wheel control module that works with your car during the install to allow the SWC to work with your new head unit.

They mic comes in the box you should run right behind the steering wheel on top. You can clip it right there. Or on the A frame
