- Victor came to the Regal Gentleman Studio because he wanted to lose a lot of length from his long hairstyle that had just been grown out from a short hairstyle. He didn't want to go short though, and still wanted to keep a longer/medium length hairstyle.

Hi Dan, any particular reason you layered the hair before cutting your perimeter at the bottom? As opposed to cutting your perimeter then layering the hair according to your perimeter. Also, on the sides and back, vertically the shape is square, but horizontally is it round? Or do you create that corner around the mastoid? I have trouble deciding when I should keep it square and when I shouldn’t because sometimes the squareness can add too much bulk just behind the ear. But I find it annoying that I can’t tell when I should keep it square and when I shouldn’t because I feel like I’m just guessing sometimes.
Fantastic work once again, kinda reminded me of some rock and pop stars of the 80's making the transition to the 90's with shorter versions of their manes lol, love when the guys look genuinely happy like Victor at the end 👍

Oh man! Dan did a great job with the initial look. I was surprised when the client wanted more shorter. Jeez! It's perfect. Actually, if it was me, I wold let it a little bit longer so it can touch my shoulder. That's as far as I would go. When he came in, it was way too long.

You do extremely well cutting curlly hair. Do you ever cut curlly hair on women? Where are you located? I have naturally curlly hair and not many hairdressers know how to cut and style curlly hair. I am 71 years old and love, love, love, my curlly hair. I wear it much shorter now than I did back in my teens, 20s, 30s, and 40s. I get compliments on my curls all the time. However, I'm always looking for other professionals who like and know how to style and cut curlly hair. You are very talented and extremely knowledgeable especially in dealing with curlly hair. I sure would like you to take a look at what I have and would be very interested in your recommendations.

Is there a video that you have that explains how to do your sideburns or your tape or fade properly with long hair like this? Because my Barber keeps messing it up, and I have to re-grow my hair over and over again just to get it right, my hair curls on the side, so I literally have to put so much Gel just to keep it straight along with my man bun, it’s so annoying, I just want a one set of solution. When he would throw up the buzzer to do the fade, he would end up cutting my hair that’s supposed to be growing

question for Dan and Regal Gentleman: My hair is thinning and I usually just try to comb it over but it is all frizzy and weird usually. How can I ask my barber to section off the hair into a horse shoe shape and then cut it, etc? I feel like they wouldn't know to do what Dan does. Let me know, thanks!
Maybe show your barber a video.
Unless you have a very close relationship with your barber, then honestly you probably can’t! Hard to tell someone how to cut hair. People have their own way of doing things. Also there are much better styles for thinning hair than combing over. Have you tried something with texture and shorter on the back and sides!
@@RegalGentleman i do usually get it short on the sides and back. Not sure how I would ask for a textured cut on the top though. What do you specifically mean?
