Happy Labor Day! I went curbside picking this morning. Found a lawn chair, patio end table, terra cotta pot, 2 boxes of apple juice pouches, and the ultimate zero waster score: mason jars!!!
@@tonyaprocell3885 Early American furniture is basically a Colonial style furniture, it has lots of curves and, its more elaborate and fussy. MidCentury furniture is squared off and boxy. MidCentury also doesn't usually feature knobs to open the drawers on the dressers. The lines on MidCentury are sleek, almost futuristic, which is the complete opposite of Early American/Colonial furniture.

The tops of the tables look like Formica, or some other type of smooth transparent coating, be careful if you decide to refinish the tables. Lots of furniture from the 1950s, through the 1970s, had a transparent layer overcoating on top to protect it from spills etc.
Old large coolers are great for making stray cat winter homes. A hole is made for the cat to enter and leave. You tape it over to keep intact. Straw is put inside. You can change out the straw as needed .
The things about those vines….they will cause damage to your house. They attach to the block and cause them to crumble. I also noticed a tree growing up against the house… you need to get it out … by the roots. It will damage your foundation

Kelly! You've inspired me to keep trying dumpster diving and I have to say that it has already been an adventure. The first weekend was two weeks ago and my friend and I didn't really find anything because we hadn't found your channel. All of the stores we went to were either locked, had no trespassing signs or had nothing in them. THEN I found your channel and figured out we'd been looking in the wrong place. This past Labor Day weekend I went by myself and had a totally different experience! I found two car loads of good stuff! I'm super shocked by what people threw away! I wish I could attach a picture to show you the haul I got. I will say that, amongst some costume jewelry I found, were two sterling silver necklaces!
Rehome your towels & blankets at your local Human Society &/ or rescues they really need them. And it saves them from the Landfills & that is what you do.
You're absolutely right Debi. I take a load of towels & blankets to the Human Society once a month.......they need them desperately for the fur babies.

Hi Kelly, those vines on the house need to be pulled off asap and dug up from the roots. They suck the moisture from the bricks n cause moisture to the wood n siding, then you end up with damage to your home. Ppl think they’re pretty but I think they’re problems. Also get rid of the tree against the house bcuz you don’t want it’s roots to damage the foundation nor your sewer system. Just some info. Good haul. Hope you had a great weekend.
tables are Mid Century Modern-List MCM in title. Great find! I would avoid sanding them though -I believe the surface is laminate. You can use some goo gone or oil to remove the sticker. usually if you can get a corner partially peeled it makes it easier to remove.I would just use a nice furniture polish or leather conditioner also works great to clean them.if you want to make the color richer or deepen it you can add a little brown shoe polish to the conditioner .Make a little paste and put on a little at a time after you condition it. the wood looks dry so you want to condition first so that it will absorb evenly .

Mid century modern end tables are what they are called. Remember if a 3 are a matching set they are more valuable. Splitting them up brings a smaller return. By the way I started watching you about 2 months ago but have been laid up from knee surgery. Today I dove for the first time in months and got some great finds so ty for getting me through the tough time I have had of late!
Another name for the top of the tables/stands is Formica. Also, Naphtha or paint thinner will help remove the stickers off laminate. Please do not use paint thinner on wood. Naphtha only for wood.
While pretty, vines are crack and crevice opportunistic, they will invade cracks and crevices, ruining your brick and siding. It’s best to get rid of them.
to strengthen the tables, put a bead of white glue all along the crevices where the 2 pieces of the table join. inside and outside if you can. GOOD white glue, not cheap. it dries clear, and no one will see it.

Yes you need to get the vines down because they will break the mirror between the bricks then you will have more expense to replace it

They make great paint now that can go over laminate, you only need to do a rough sand to get the sheen off.
