I have noticed that you don't take blankets. Unless they are really gross you can wash them and donate them to the animal shelter. They can always use blankets and towels. I used to get tons when the college students moved out.
It's not about helping save the environment or helping animals any more, it's about only taking stuff she can sell. She's evolved and it's not good or entertaining
In her defense she has to put all that stuff in her vehicle even if it's the back of the truck she still has to wash it and once blankets (especially) are in a dumpster they develop a smell because of the fabric .... She has saved alot throughout the years more than I can say about even myself... And I pick up alot of things some I resell and some I donate .. I'm sure she donates but doesn't need to share that with us ... which is perfectly fine. At the end of the day she is out there digging even in mid summer. So I commend her for that.

My hubby is the same, but i got one of my daughters to go with me and she is so obsessed. I now have 2 of my daughters going the other one goes so she can keep us out of trouble. Hope you get to go some time soon, its a good way to get out of the house.
Step stool would be a good thing to keep in truck for added diving height.you can also take an extension pole for painting and a paint roller and make you an extension hook tool

i have been told NOT TO PLANT THAT BAMBOO IN THE GROUND. it will take over, and youll never be rid of it. ive seen people build a container out of concrete blocks in the ground to contain it. thats the only way you can have it in the ground.

When you find the big dumpsters, pull your truck up next to it so you can stand on the side of the bed. Also, if they are not full, check the doors on the end of it. You should try the grocery stores like Aldi and who ever else you have in town. They are usually pretty good dives.

Amazing haul! I went dumpster diving last night and made my boyfriend climb in the dumpster for me. I found so many baby items thrown away, humifer, lots of clothes and play mats etc. Even brand new items like diapers and what not with tags on it were thrown away. Whatever I don't want to keep ill be passing it along to someone who needs it. 😊 I didn't want any of it to be in the landfill.

For sure!! My dogs start sniffing everywhere and have been known to tear food bags open if we are late feeding them! They like to eat around 8 pm in the evening but are chihuahua's. They only each get 1/2 cup of food a day so they will not let us skip their supper after we finish ours!!
I think it's mostly for families who may work different shifts and not see each other. Sometimes my husband will feed the dog and forget to tell me and she always acts like she's still hungry so she has accidentally gotten fed extra before we got one of those
It’s amazing what people throw away…it’s like they have no concept of the fact that they traded their time for those dollars they use to buy this junk that they don’t even use and throw away like it’s nothing…it’s literally people throwing away their life…time spent at work instead of with their family or doing something they enjoy doing…slave system…

I have a rule of thumb when looking at retail items. How many bags of groceries could I purchase for the same money? Puts my mind in a good place and I can easily walk away.

But how much experience have u had in the working slave system? Everyone I know understands the concepts I’ve stated and are actually what taught me the value of time…that’s why I’m curious

I'm so short...getting in and out of dumpsters is risky. I now have a small stool and a long pole with a hook on it...helps me get in/out. I use the hook to pull the stool in after me and then to retrieve it when I'm back out.
In the DFW area, clothing is actually the easiest thing for people to find. We have tons of drop boxes organized by churches and community outreach groups. Leaving them at the pantry would take up room needed for food which is harder to come by.
@@clhart8405 Many times when she gos it’s close to empty, and clothing at “goodwill” or “salvation army” is getting pretty expensive these days. I’m talking 1 adult and 1 child set! A lot more homeless people than there use to be pre-covid.

I love watching people who flip furniture on TH-cam. Would be great if you had someone like that to tip them off when you see furniture like this. It's a shame that so much is just thrown away, when a coat of paint could save it!
I keep thinking she should find a nice wood piece and work on it herself. Keep or garage sale it. I love sanding wood. So soothing, satisfying. Love watching the flippers as well.
I flip furniture and that wood head and foot board would be a perfect flip you can even make a bench out of them the small table on the couch at the last stop and the chair. Totally money maker pieces for sure.

I'm so short...getting in and out of dumpsters is risky. I now have a small stool and a long pole with a hook on it...helps me get in/out. I use the hook to pull the stool in after me and then to retrieve it when I'm back out.

Good idea! Never would have thought of that.
I've left socks and winter hats and even a few clean washcloths in ours.
In the DFW area, clothing is actually the easiest thing for people to find. We have tons of drop boxes organized by churches and community outreach groups. Leaving them at the pantry would take up room needed for food which is harder to come by.
@@clhart8405 Many times when she gos it’s close to empty, and clothing at “goodwill” or “salvation army” is getting pretty expensive these days. I’m talking 1 adult and 1 child set! A lot more homeless people than there use to be pre-covid.

Use your truck bed. Pull your truck close to the huge green dumpster and climb on the back of your truck bed to get up there😉

I love watching people who flip furniture on TH-cam. Would be great if you had someone like that to tip them off when you see furniture like this. It's a shame that so much is just thrown away, when a coat of paint could save it!
I keep thinking she should find a nice wood piece and work on it herself. Keep or garage sale it. I love sanding wood. So soothing, satisfying. Love watching the flippers as well.
I flip furniture and that wood head and foot board would be a perfect flip you can even make a bench out of them the small table on the couch at the last stop and the chair. Totally money maker pieces for sure.
