Just bought a 2022 trd sport. I’d rather spend 60k on an old school v8 than on a fancy bigger screen. We buy trucks for driving not for watching the screen.
I have the 2012 platinum and love, love, love it!!!♡ I purchased it 2019 with 99,000 at $28,900. I have had no issues and have drove like a bat outta hell... Pearl is her name and she now has 190,000 miles. Best purchase I've ever made!
@@kendraheredia2141 Pearl is a fabulous rig... use her for hunting, rig camping, just drop those seats down and have so much room!! I love the surround sound speaks for watching movies on the front screen❤ tiny house on wheels.
I still have my 2001 with 148000 miles.4WD which drive like a champ. Upgraded with HID lights , Led light strip, Blind spot monitor, Blind spot camera, Front and back camera, front and back parking sensor, NAVIGATION SYSTEM and DVR to record all camera video. I did this all myself to avoid $9000 labor fee.
2022. The way I see it.........the 'practical' reason(s) to buy this SUV are: 1) You have 4, 5, 6 people to move around and/or their "stuff". 2) You're most likely moving your family, so you want them to be safe and whatnot. There are not many vehicles on the road, that with proper maintenance, are virtually 'guaranteed' to go 300,000 miles with little more than oil changes, tires, and brakes. 3) Overall, I don't think there is a better automaker than Toyota/Lexus.......and especially if you're comparing cost/quality ratio. For ME, I'd much rather have the proven 5.7 liter V-8 powerplant, and deal with the gas mileage, than roll the dice with turbo 6 cylinders, Eco-Boost, cylinder deactivation, woo, woo. You (should) KNOW what you're getting into with a 6,000lb vehicle. Point being...........the 2022 is tried, proven, and true. Nothing Toyota is going to do to future models will improve the vehicle much substantively. Yeah, heated steering wheels, larger screens, vagina washers, woo, woo..........but all that is esoteric 'window dressing'. THIS engine, transmission, suspension is THE BUSINESS.
Definitely wait. She's an old beast. You can get a bigger center console screen in a compact car or those subcompact crossovers. But with a 10 inches ground clearance, it'll do what it's supposed to do.
If you want a 2022 buy it as soon as possible. I have a family member at Toyota and he confirmed that they are no longer being built. I just locked in the purchase of 2022 executive owned Platinum at MSRP. Many dealers are asking over, some way over ($20k!) MSRP. The 2023 replacement will be available in a few months.
Bought a 2013 Platinum 4whdr for $22,000 in April 2021, very nice to drive but miss the space of my minivan, needed the Sequoia to move my boat, love the old school tech I’ll keep this monster till I die, cause I’m an old dino too.
just bought a trd pro 2022, it's a beautiful simple beast, I actually love the small display, I just can't find a way to dim it on demand, or turn it off. The gas mileage is not that great, however if you don't drive lead-foot, you can actually achieve 17/18 mpg, it's like a video game to try and conserve gas while you drive. I know everyone is waiting for the new design, but I personally do not like the new design concepts that i've seen, they look like transformers, so I made sure to get this last design model which will be a classic i think. This truck has excellent turning radius which is shocking on a toyota suv. Lastly the radar cruise control is great, it's the only "self driving" feature i need... I do agree about the brakes not being extremely responsive (like BMWs), but toyota folks should be used this and that being said the brakes are great on the trd pro. Simple is reliable, the more complexity you add the more problems will occur, and be more expensive to fix.
Back in 2000, I bought a 2001 brand new sequoia and kept it for 22 years until it was totaled in a minor accident a few months ago. Loved the hell out of it! In my new vehicle search, I have placed an order for a Tesla model y. I am looking forward to that as much as I was the Sequoia back in 2000 and hoping to keep it until the Cybertruck has been out for a year or two. yaaaaa Tesla.

Impressive! 👍
I had 2012 and my husband made me trade it in. I’m still mad. Best vehicle I ever loved 🥰

Vagina washers!?! 😂😂
2008 Platinum 78k miles. Drove it off the showroom floor. Drives and handles like new. I don’t care if it hasn’t changed, it’s awesome.
I agree with you. This Toyota would last 30 years.

Still have my 2012 Platinum Edition, drives like a Champ.

Appreciate it!

The brakes on my 2021 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro are extremely responsive, more so than my 2013 Toyota Sienna Limited AWD's brakes.
Go to menu screen then see display icon in the lower rh corner to turn screen off.
When do you think the 2023 will be in dealerships thank you
Right on Alex the great
What I look for in a car is how big the screen is.
More microchips more semiconductors more electric gizmos bells and whistles
LOL
Toyota needs to refresh the interiors of their line up
Great review ... Thank you !
Does it have a brake controller for towing?
Wait, but expect price increases similar to what the Tundra got!!
I liked the song you used in your review of the 2018 Toyota Sequoia better. Hell, you can use it in your 2022 Jeep Wagoneer review.
Sounds like it's time to wait for the updated model.
Hope they have V6
what no compass ?
It the exact same thing as my 21 Platinum 😟
Hey there is 2023 Toyota sequoia is here
Now going to available later this summer
Check one out today sir 👊😎!!!

Wait
Great review but this vehicle is so old and outdated it's insulting.
No suvs should cost more than 50k!
Ok communist
I forgot Toyota even builds this. Lol so old, so out of date.
yes,sequoia outward is kindly outdated
