I printed one for myself for that exact reason a few weeks ago. Afterwards I felt like an idiot for 3D printing for so long and never printing one out for myself before. I can't exaggerate how much one of these has helped my figure poses with how insanely posable and diverse they are.
I have got some cool 3D models too, do check them out in my link if you are interested. I update regularly and planning to post some more magnetic, connected and articulated things soon. :D
I can't stop printing them. I just love printing and building these things and all the remixes. The heroes and the weapons and hats and stuff. All fun.
I've made so many of these, along with her other models, Lucky and Mini 13. These have held up through lots of rough play. A definite thumbs up. Thank you for bringing Soozafone some attention.
This is like printing your own Gundam! It would be awesome to have different kinds of armor/outer shells like maybe a storm trooper! Also I wonder if you print the frame in TPU if it would work better? Some Gundam parts use a rubber type material in the joints.
I've wondered that too - I used to have those toys he mentioned, "Stikfas" and the issue was the joints would wear out super quick because they were a hard plastic. But my old Gundams that saw WAY more play still hold up pretty well due to the more rubbery joints.
@@AluminiumPanda6 Its not so much that the joints wore out. The big issue was how thin the walls of the sockets were/are. Also, as the plastic got very brittle over time, it was extremely easy to snap the socket, making them useless. Its fine for any you might find that are already put together but I would avoid any that aren't, unfortunately. Also, the ones made and packaged later were made with a different plastic. For example, the blue duelist or the red succubus. And, oddly enough, many of the clear versions, like the clear knight, have held up fairly well.
These have been such a blast of nostalgia for me. I hate that newer "action figures" have little movable parts and super cheap quality, vs growing up with our G.I Joes that could move everything and take a beating. ive printed 3 so far and want to just keep printing more for no reason other reason than the joy of it. lol
I have a 50% sized one I hide in different places at work to mess with my co-workers. I also have a 300% sized one just chilling on my desk. It's a lot of fun. Look up the Dummy goes to comic con C3PO pack. The head gives it a lot of personality.
*If you really want to mess with coworkers, print a life size one. When you take time off, have the Dummy13 sit by your desk and put some of your clothes on it. Would look like you're still there and working.*
great timing on your video!!! I just printed 2 of these yesterday, and am going to print like 20 more, they are so fun, and there are a ton of weapons and addons by the community to print and play with
The Dummy13's armature is a really good base. I'm working on a way to make more detailed character bodies with different shapes using it. I've been printing these constantly just because they're really good for art posing and the like. There's a satisfaction in putting them together I used to get from K'NEX figures and the like.
I know there's at least one guy that printed a 600% one and it's like the size of a small child, It's honestly pretty crazy. NVM seen someone print one at 1300% and is just massive.
Hey there Uncle Jesse. All i could think about when i saw you fighting your 2 figures was Spaceballs. No sir, I didn't see you playing with your dolls again!
I used polycarbonate (pc) for the joints and it is perfect for this situation ,very tough material ,though it needs to print with 280 degrees on hotend and 110 degrees on heatbed
@@UncleJessy Yeah, fidget toys are awesome. People who can design those in a way that they can be played around for hours should be the ones to design toys and games :)
I think it's pretty obvious...the world needs to see a Giga Dummy! Also, if you have some clear PETG I would love to see what it looks like with the body clear and then the armor in a nice bright color. I bet it'd look sick!
I know you don't tend to go back and cover the same prints again typically.. but seeing you have those figures and that backdrop you printed as well made me wonder. What if you were to print the backdrop and the figure stand as a green screen sort of color. You would be able to make the figures look like they are actually jumping or fighting or whatever.
So would the giga printer be able to do a life sized version? That would be so neat. You'd need a filament sponsor because you'd use all of the filament (as 3D Printing Nerd aka Joel would say).
I will NEVER buy another Elegoo printer. My Neptune 4 max is the largest paperweight I own. The funny thirteen IS a great project though. I have printed it and I enjoy it!
Dude Stikfas are the first thing that came to mind when I saw these! I miss those toys. I only have a resin printer... so maybe I should enlist the help of a buddy who has a filament printer to make some of these for me.
I have some Figma figures I bitt a few years ago that look very similar to these exterior they have real body parts like a human shaped chest, arms, etc.
Ahh I totally printed two of these already! First one I did, 120% scale but like the skeleton parts were too tight and I had to sand down the ball joints to get them to click. The next one I scaled up to 150% but on the skeleton I changed the setting in Prusa slicer to "shrink" the xz scale by -0.1mm, making the print ever so much smaller, and it made for a really really nice fit for all the joints. The creator of this project isn't lying though, it definitely helps to print the skeleton with ABS rather than like standard PLA.
Hi great video so fun! I hope one day I can have a channel like yours I’m 7 and my dad bought me an a1 a few months back now printing is so fun still learning!
Thankfully there are individual parts already. printing the sprues feels like a huge waste of filament. It makes sense for injection molding, but 3d printing hard nah
@@marciompjr well, with at least my printer it was totally fine without em. spurs are fine, but i just dont see the point in having the whole kit and kaboodle of faking injection molding when all of that plastic is being tossed, and takes longer to print.

Used to have wooden versions of these decades ago for artists/animators to do poses. This could be great, but right now it just looks like a 3d printed version of those old wooden figurines. Seems to me this is a perfect opportunity to expand upon that and make figures with character to them, like popular characters (being able to pose a Tony Stark, or Black Widow) or even exaggerated proportions for like anime sketching, or some other style I'm too old to be hip to.

I've been trying to print this a few times and I've been having trouble printing the initial layer. It doesn't have that many problems when I print the parts individually, but when I try to print the runner the initial small lines pull up when moving between the parts. I've thoroughly cleaned the build plate but I keep having problems. Idk if it has to do with my retraction settings or something else. I also keep having the first few mm curl up. On large prints this doesn't seem to cause much problems but on smaller pieces it does. I'm printing on a Neptune 4 Plus
