Printing "fun" items can be cool, but personally, I find it VERY satisfying to model and print functional parts. There's just something about needing a thing, then making that thing real and holding it and then putting it to use to solve a problem or fulfill a need. It's so satisfying!

Jessy, these are the videos I live for. Thank you. I wish you'd do more videos on print files all themed around something. The one problem I have with the openness of the 3D print hobby is the fact that it's so overwhelming when looking for models. You basically have to know what to look for, there are few resources that print and review models.

Whilst those shelf brackets look super cool, I'd be cautious about how much weight they are subjected to as the required print orientation means that the layer lines will be vertical and in the same direction as the forces acting on them which means they won't be as strong as a bracket printed on its side.

Great vid thanks! As for the cyclone, I’ve used one for woodworking for yearrrsss, and the dust should NOT be in your shop vac! It should be in your cyclone bucket lol. That’s the whole point, to save the filter getting dusted up. My shop vac has barely anything in it at all and I regularly have to carefully empty the cyclone bucket, as it’s rammed with sawdust.

Don't print functional parts at 0.3 layer height with a 0.4 nozzle. It noticeably reduces layer adhesion making them more prone to cracking. Switch to 0.6 nozzle to print at 0.3. Or instead of increasing layer height, increase line width and reduce wall count to keep same thickness. Will make the prints faster without layer adhesion issues.

Jesse with the Vitiligo can you isolate your resin 3d printers so you reduce your in office, exposure to UV. Obviously sunlight is gonna to be fair more damaging, but I assume you would use sunscreen etc. Just curious as I saw that UV exposure can increase symptoms and I know you do the timelapses without UV hoods so just wondering if that could be a risk factor you could reduce.

For the cyclone dust collector, its super cool but by time you pay for filament (comments on the printables say it'll use about a kilo) and spend the time printing and assembling you're going to end up with a product that is at best equal to but more likely slightly inferior to the mass manufactured version and costs almost as much. Don't get me wrong, it's super cool but I'm just not sure it's worth all the effort to save a couple of dollars.

Hey Uncle Jesse! Was online a bit with your folks in a car on way to Canada recently, than was put into the glove box! Love that large format printer you have there, what a beast! Curious how things have been with that printer. Pros and Cons many months later. My shop has similar bracket files from printables, I make them using 25%QIDIABS_GF Filament, the stuff is the bomb where you use for structural supports, also any 10%CF or GF ABS is good, but QIDI25%GF_ABS is one of my secret weapons used for items like the shelf supports, I swear by this filament. I found a great cyclone seperator somewhere, killer design, if I can find where I grabbed it will post back.....my little image is one piece of believe was a 4 or 5 part print, all fit into my Q1 Pro when I printed it last April. It is a great design, works amazingly well, similar one online ran around $179
