  • Today, I give a more in-depth look at the Latitude 64° Brave. A slightly understable fairway driver. I'm still trying to figure out all the components of a good disc review, so let me know if I'm missing anything... aside from better lighting in my office. I know I've got to figure that one out.

    Brave is an incredible disc for all skill levels ❤️👍

    The brave might be my new favorite discs. I wish more TH-camrs would do what you did and throw the disc in opposite directions. Gives a much better feel for a disc to see it both into and down wind. Thanks for that! And I’m jealous of those mountains in the background….

      We get the wind in the afternoon enough here that it's actually hard to find calm days to test these, so I get to see how they fly with the wind and into the wind. Port Alberni is truly spectacular, we have this huge Mount Arrowsmith looking over the town. It's one of the reasons we moved here 15 years ago. Keep watching, I'll try to show more of the local scenery and visit some of my favourite courses up and down Vancouver Island.

    U also gained a sub! I love how you just plainly explain things, very nice calm and smooth, no over the top edits. Great energy and u clearly love the sport. Because of the fact players in my age range may throw harder/further, im actually struggling to keep my SHOULD BE straight flying mids from turning all the way over. I’m genuinely not trying to flex at all, I actually am trying to compare your throws to how my discs of the same mold fly so I can better control the strength on my throws! I always end up overdoing it on midranges when I should just rely on smooth form, and while I may be able to throw further, you still have a higher rating than me just because of experience and accuracy. Love the channel!

      Thanks for the comment. A bit of an update. At my last tags match, one of the younger guys with a faster arm speed brought his Brave, and we threw them beside each other. His flipped over a bit, whereas mine held the glide much better. All he'd need was a bit more hyzer and it would have flown really nice for him. I believe this would be a great shapeable disc for faster arm speeds. An option for a longer turnover if you don't have that 300ft forehand.
      Have you tried with more overstable mids?

      @@greybearddiscgolfI have tried with some very overstable ones and I’m able to get a somewhat reliable glide then finish, but where I’m struggling is to get any sort of S curve that doesn’t end up flipping into the ground. Appreciate the advice! I may do some videos on my form to try to improve the hyzer line that I (believe) I put most 0/1 0/2 midranges on

      Thanks for the props. I don't want to copy any existing reviews, but still want to hit all the relevant information. Keep watching, I'm hoping to just get better.

      Would love to see a couple more shots on a course for the review but other than that I thought it was awesome, loved that you showed the distance and similar discs to it. Cant wait to see more!@@greybearddiscgolf

      Love Mary's Farm! I try to get down there any time there's a tournament. I started playing from the Blues recently too.

    I have a pretty strong throw and no matter what I do I always end up turning this disc over. For me this is a perfect disc for those long sloping shots that go straight then dog leg right (I am right handed and have a pretty weak forehand) no matter how much hyzer I give it, it’ll always come back right. Only had the disc for a few months now. Got it out of the “lucky box” and back then it had no published stats, and when I completed the surgery on it, I genuinely thought it was a -3 1 on turn and fade.

      I'm the same way with the lack of a real power forehand, so a longer turnover, say 260-300 ft, this will at least get me close.

    Just under 98 meters.
    Much appreciated demo, thanks.

      Should I be putting metres in the measurements too?

    You can only bag one. Brave or River?

    • @greybearddiscgolf
      @greybearddiscgolf  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hmm, that's a toughie. They both have similar flight paths. They both go far. I think the Brave... at least right now. That slot has lots of options, including the new Cicada, and the Essence.

      @@greybearddiscgolf thank you. I own a Latitude 64 set and have been debating about purchasing the new Royal Brave. 🥏

      @luchaunderground6830 in the Latitude 64° line something very similar is the Core. Great for turnovers, maybe not as much distance, but I still manage to throw it further than I expect most of the time.

      Brave 100%. I think it turns easier yet fights back more than the river. I love the brave. It’s the DX Teebird in premium plastic that I spent 2 years, and a lot of money trying to find. Nothing else I’ve found flips as easy yet still fights back like a DX Teebird. But that’s just like my opinion man.

    • @greybearddiscgolf
      @greybearddiscgolf  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @davesage4931 Exactly! The River never seemed to want to fight out, and that was good for some shots, but I think it's more likely that you are going to want it to come out of the turn a bit. It's just more reliable that way. As soon as I saw my River turn over, bye bye. The best reason I still would bag my River is the absolutely sick custom dye by Shedyzerdiscs.

    THE BEST THING IS THE CONSISTANCY OF LAT 64 PLASTIC--OUT OF THE BOX LANDING WITHIN FEET OF EACH OTHER--WILL NOT GET THAT FROM INNOVA---BTW I AM NOT YELLING I JUST FIND CAPS EASIER TO READ

      That Royal Grand is the best plastic I've felt, but I have almost exclusively discs from the big manufacturers so I hope to get my hands on some other less known brands soon too. I have a Clash Salt in Steady plastic and it's really nice.
