  • Heres my new board, Its a Boss BCB-1000 from ‪@BOSSinfoglobal‬
I'm using the GT-1000 core in a special way, I'm basically splitting it in two through the ES-8, so that one side runs inline to the preamp of the amp and the other side for most time-based effects run through the effects loop.
If you are interested in doing this setup, ill send you the Schematic, just send me an email to info@simonmcbride.net
It was a lot of fun making this video....
    Rock on!!

I have the ES8, the GT1000 core and an Octavia as well and I have to agree what a combo. So flexible and with all the different banks you can add more optional ones in but I haven't run the split between preamp and internal core.
    Great setup and playing.

THE best 22 minutes of your time if you love guitars and gear ! Absolutely awesome video my friend. Love the tunes, the playing, the gear, the "crazy" wiring ideas....love it. Keep smiling and smashing it buddy and let's hope we can all get out again on the road again soon to make some noise. x

Any plans to do a review of the pedalboard and case? No one has done one, yet, so I was initially excited when I saw your video title.

Cracking video...just wondering could you explain why you don't go in to the sends and returns on the CORE...I get how the connections are made in the ES8, I'm using one and I hook it up so I can move that V block about for pre and post effects, I just don't understand the thinking behind where the connections are made in the CORE. Thanks for any advice✌

Great video, Si. Fun fact - BOSS is actually changing the name of the GT-1000 to "The Big Daddy".

The new OC5 octave sounds so much better than the one in the gt1000

How do you plug it in? If you power supply is on locked underneath. Say you have a voodoo that takes a computer cables

Why OD-200 with the core you have them pedals in the multi effects chain on core just trying too learn?

Hello Simon, new sub here, if you don’t mind me picking your brains out a matter of interest how much depth is there underneath? I’m looking at changing my board and was wondering if you could put a few boss pedals underneath that don’t need to be adjusted, I’m using a es5 with an extra looper switcher controlled via midi and was wondering if I would get away with just pedal on top that need to be accessed on the fly and stowaway other ones underneath and just call them up via the es5

Este Simon es un huracan , pero me queda algo por preguntar , como nivelamos los volumenes de cada pad ? o sea utilidad en vivo , un pedal de voluemen , hablo la necesidad a tiempo real , entre un canal y otro .

How are you securing the pedals to the board? What did you use...Viv

I followed the cable method in the diagram. Is there internal settings I’m missing. I’m not getting anything out of the Core.

I wish you would spend more time covering what´s under the board and how it is fitted in there.

Hi. Is it possible to connect the GT-1000 to an amplifier on stage and to the PA at the same time?

Hi. Can anybody tell me the loop structure in the es 8 please. I have cabled this way into my es 8 but the loops seem to conflict

"Weeks" to figure this thing out with access to the techs at Boss? Then, this is NOT for me. I do not have access to the techs at Boss.
