I have watched several of these ceremonies of various presidents presenting the Medal of Honor. i must say, they all the recipients have the same look on thier faces, like they don't deserve it and they wish the circumstances were different. That's how i know they deserve it. They weren't looking for it.

If it's the military's tradition, then how come in every ceremony, the host addresses the other member of the official party by first name. I do ceremonies with top brass in the air force on a regular basis. Trust me when I tell you it is a typical occurrence. It is not a sign of disrespect. He was likely introduced with his full title in the very beginning, then referred to as Dakota from that point on (except in the medal citation where he would have been referred to by rank and last name)
No Marine would turn his back on and disrespect his Commander in Chief. The military is supposed to be apolitical remember? They follow who the American people elect president, like him/her or not. Remember your oath "marine"!!
