Kyle, so proud you. I'm an old 62 yr old Marine Sgt from the 70s (1973-1977). Thank you for protecting our Great Nation and GOD will bless you. Chesty would be proud too. Semper Fi.
I am a disabled older veteran and I would love to tell Kyle that he is my personal superhero! You put fellow soldiers safely above your own. Their is NO greater sacrifice! I salute you!
I was US Army 1961-67 but one does not need to be in the Marine Corp to love our Marines. God Bless you and so glad we have men like you serving this country.
As a 71yr old ex serviceman, I watched this brave young man's story through very wet eyes and can honestly say that if he were my son, I would be a very proud father indeed. Respect and heartfelt best wishes to you young man ❤
More the likely someone will have to be killed in action like LT Michael Murphy who was a Navy Seal. He was killed with 2 other Seals with only 1 that survived. There is a ship named USS Michael Murphy DDG-112 you can read about it in the link I provided en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Michael_Murphy
Really pisses me off when videos about people shopping, vlogging and playing video games gets more views and likes than a video about a hero who actually puts his life on the line to protect us.
Ignorant, uneducated and maybe jealous. A person who would never put their own life on the line for anything. Those are the tonks who give a thumbs down.
Kyle, I have watched your awards ceremony with the President, and with the Marine Corp in Wash DC. I cried every time. Thank you young man. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU,
I've seen him on Letterman. It's good to see his family and show how it affects loved ones. Thank you for raising a great man and thank the Corp for making him a Marine.
There is no higher love then the love a mother has for her child ❤️ great story what a hero this young man is, I’m so happy you survived mate. Much love from Australia ❤️🇦🇺🇺🇸❤️
Thank you so much for your service. Word's cannot describe my gratitude. I enlisted in the Marine Corps as well and I can't wait to be able to join your ranks as a United States Marine. I've heard many infantry guy's say something to the extent of "I'm not a hero, I'm just a Marine" and I'm sure you sometimes feel like just a man, a Marine doing his job, but know to people like myself, you are a hero. Period. Selfless people like yourself give me hope and inspiration. Again, thank you for your service. America owes you and so many others a debt that will never be paid back, but know that one day your actions will be honored in a place with much more to offer than this world does. Semper Fi.
Thank you, Kyle Carpenter and thank you, MOM Carpenter, for the amazing way you have let us into your world. As a MOM myself I'm always on guard duty near my phone and on the lookout. Your bravery gives me a little peace. We will all go on and life will be okay. Praying for your success at school and in life.
Kyle- The great legacy of our Corps rides proudly on the shoulders of warriors such as yourself. That, in itself, brings honor and tribute not only to you, but to those that instilled the values you hold; not just the DI's, but earlier, to your parents, mentors, teachers and friends. Add to that the tremendous character, power and spirit you have demonstrated through today is remarkable and inspiring. I will likely never have the opportunity to meet you, share a beer and tell tales. From afar, all I can do is say thanks, Semper Fi and ask that you share my thanks with your family for all they have done. Great job by them too!
This made me cry, and Im proud that there are people like Kyle who will risk his life for his brothers in arms. And most of all for all of us who are not there with him in theater. I will do my best to support you guys as a civilian contractor enabeling you to get home safely.
God bless you Kyle. God bless every single Marine who serves and who has served. Thank you for putting your life on the line for me every single day. What more can I say but "Thank you".
As a Marine Mom and Marine Grandmother, this was a very touching video. My son spent time "in the sand" and I was sending packages to our Marines for about 3 yrs and felt so honored to do so. I know that what I say has little weight, Cpl. Kyle and I know time has passed even though I'm just seeing this video, but please know that this old Marine Mom thanks you SO very, very much for all you have done and will keep you in her thoughts, even though you don't know me. Big, big hugs from one Marine Mom to yours.
Semper Fidelis Cpl. Carpenter. We Marines are an elite band, you have honoured us all with your actions. You Cpl., are not just one of the few and proud Marines, you are now in the same ranks as our greatest legends! You are now one the elite of the elite. Perhaps one day I might have the honour and privilege of saluting you.
I really don't cry often, but this had me completely in tears. You Kyle, are the BEST example, what love looks like. You have risked your life, so your brother can live. This is the purest form of love possible. You're my hero Kyle 🙏❤️
Kyle's story puts my injuries into perspective. 37 surgeries, injured in the line of duty. I've been through nothing compared to this young man. America's finest he is! God bless him and his family... A true inspiration!
Greater love has no one than this: to lay downs one's life for one's friends. Oorah Cpl, and Semper Fidelis. Thank you for all that you gave for your country your Marines and the Marine Corps itself, I wish the best of luck to you in life and may you continue to be the hero that you are.
Thank you Marines for your service, for your sacrifice. Cpl. Carpenter's video is very moving, inspirational. We are so very proud and grateful for him. God bless you.
Dear Sir, there are no words to describe my feelings and thoughts about you and what you've done. Hero, superman, brother, man of honor... simply a Marine! Thank you for your service Kyle.
Kyle , I’m not sure if you read these comments or not but I saw this and felt the need to comment . As an American , I want to thank you and all of the other Men and Women who have had the courage to serve our country . I have such a great respect and admiration for all of you and whenever I see anyone in uniform I do my best to thank them . What you did to save your brothers was selfless and Heroic . I hope that you continue to heal and get the treatment that you deserve. God bless you and your family , and all of your armed service brothers and sisters . Thank you for your service and sacrifices you continue to make for our country .
May God continue to heal your body as He is placing you in our hearts and prayers. Your Mother is beautiful and expresses her love of nation in each of her word.
When I was a Little Boy, I would write letters to my Mother telling her how much I loved her. At age 42 She passed away and it broke my heart. Later on going through Moms belongings I found those letters she kept all those years. Im happy Kyle that you have that special bond with your Mother, Just as I did with mine. It truly will last forever. Thank You for your service. A True Hero and a gift from God. Will always support you.
Oct 7 2019 is the day that my 18yr old son ships out for Paris island. I can barely stand the thought of him going. But it is his dream and I am really proud of him and I'm really scared as well. If any of you pray please keep all the military moms out there. My son's dream is to defend a country that he loves! Good bless all the young people who share that dream and I pray for them and their families! We are the LAND of the FREE because of the BRAVE.
In a time when all most kids seem to think about is how they're going to get rich or be a video gamer or whatever it takes a very good person to decide, "I'm not worried about getting rich and I don't want to sit around and get famous by playing video games. I'm going to wear the globe and anchor and take up the mantle of US Marine and do something for my country instead of asking what my country can do for me or sitting around on a couch pretending to be something." That alone is something, but to go down to the recruiter and sign up is truly something. Good luck to you and your son, and God bless. Same to all the other military members and their families, past and present, and to those who aspire to take their place amongst those who serve this great nation day and night, any time they are needed and any place they are needed and the families of those people who will someday be part of that same community. You are all in my prayers, and I am sure many others are praying for you as well.
He is a super human, he is a marine, he is a hero. Thank you to all who serve this country, you are the reason we still have this country to be grateful for, you are my heroes. As I am sure many others feel the same way, but for those who have fallen, they will never be forgotten. They are always with us every day, they have given the ultimate sacrifice for this beautiful country, our rights, and our freedom. They are the untold history but not the forgotten. They are Americans.
Calling this man a hero is an absolute understatement. This guy deserves nothing but the best for his sacrifice and willingness to pay the ultimate price. Thank you.
The true measure of a man (or woman) is when they react without thinking, the instinct for the heroic action of Kyle and others like him come from who they are. I'm sure Kyle didn't think 1st "gee if I jump on this grenade they'll call me a hero!" No his core values kicked in and he just reacted.

WOW Kyle just an amazing story. I thought your saying your mom keeps everything was pretty cool too and I hope she continues although she probably will. My sister in law has an old shoe box of letters her dad a WWII Marine wrote home during that time. The box is old and the letters are faded & yellow but the memories remain. I was fortunate enough to hear some of his stories first hand and they made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I never asked him or my father in law (USN WWII) to tell me anything I just waited & hoped they would. Boy was I glad when they did and I will remember those men and their stories for the rest of my life. FLY NAVY!!!
I’m a school teacher, and the wife and mama of a United States Marine. Every year, as our school prepares for our Veterans Day choral concert, I make sure my students SEE a photo of Kyle before and after he shouldered that grenade. My “kiddos” from K through 6 get it! They know what our beloved Veterans sacrifice for them. I hope that Kyle and his mom write a book about his experience. GOD bless! 🙏🏼❤️💛🇺🇸💛❤️🙏🏼

Seen alot of videos on this guy and they've all been awesome . This guy absolutely doesn't look 10 feet tall and indestructible but I believe it's just the camera angles they use to make him look like the rest of us. True hero and warrior . Thanks for your service
It's surreal seeing his Psalms 144 tattoo. My son, a Corporal in the Marine Corps, has the same verse tatted on him. I'm grateful that God has protected our Marines - and to the Marines who've fallen in battle, they can now stand with King David, the author of that beautiful Psalm. God bless us all. Amen
musedonna their training, bravery, and courage has kept them safe. Not GOD. You are a coward for trying to take that away from your own son. Shame on you.
Obviously, Kyle Carpenter is American courage personified and a great human being that all kids should admire. What I take away from this video is the character of his mother. What an unbelievable woman. I can only wish I had the support and love from my mother that she showed her son. Now my greatest wish is I find a woman like her to be the mother of my kids. If she ever reads this message, please be very proud of yourself. Thanks for taking care of a returning vet, but more importantly, thanks for being a beautiful mother to a son.
Semper Fi Brother God bless you and your whole family. You are a hero. God bless all our service men and women Then, now, and forever. Ooooorah Semper Fidelis
As a vet from Australia I do not care if he is American or not, To me he is a Hero born and bread. I wish that I had even 10% of his courage, I suggest that they should make a statue of him and what he did, to be posted at the main gate for encourgement to others. You make all soldiers proud brother
MR . CARPENTER !! All I can say is thank!! Thank you for your sacrifice away from family. And thank your for your personal sacrifice!!! Again all I can say!! I THANK YOU !! And god bless
Thank you so much for sharing your story. You have a wonderful family and you can clearly see their pride in you. Your attitude is humbling your truly a man with heart and benevolence . 👍👍👍
Watching this video, I felt tears fall upon my face. I have never been an outwardly emotional person, so this says alot. This young man, with no regard for his own safety, threw himself on a grenade to save hus fellow Marines. This fact falls uoon many a deaf ear. His dedication to his fellow Marines, is matched by no other! Thank you Sir, your country and your fellow Marines, will forever hold you in thier hearts...
How can you dislike this video he saved his marine buddy’s from a grenade and fuckin lived to tell the story about it. Like honestly god was watching over him , saw his sacrifice and gifted him with another chance at life this is truly amazing.
Absolute bad ass. You can tell he's the kind of guy you'd want watching your back. Very humble guy who put it all on the line. Wish him the best.

I’m teary eyed at 7am. God bless Kyle Carpenter and his actions.
Who thinks that they should name a ship after him?
Renil Pulley call it the USS Kyle Carpenter. Make it an amphibious assault ship. Loaded with marines.
I think the USS Honor has a nice ring to it, for all the MOH recipients both past and future
After he dies he will get a ship or other building in his honor. Never while alive .

Yes, I am thankful to God my son came home. God Bless the loved ones of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
@@UnderFunded_inc I understand where you are coming from, but that's uncalled for.
@@UnderFunded_inc Sounds like her son disagrees.
Gosh our men and women in the military are so brave and loyal to our country, god bless you all and thank you!!
Ooh Rah to all the Marine Moms!
Cpl. Kyle Carpenter, Thankyou for your sacrifice. I will salute the next Military man I see in your honor.🇺🇸
Love this man. Love his story
What an amazing video and an amazing story of courage. Semper Fi from a fellow Marine ! Semper Fi to Mom also.
Kyle carpenter is a true american hero i served as well and no amount of words can describe my thankfullness
Semper Fi Brother

Semper Fidelis
Que se recupere pronto
As a vet from Australia I do not care if he is American or not, To me he is a Hero born and bread. I wish that I had even 10% of his courage, I suggest that they should make a statue of him and what he did, to be posted at the main gate for encourgement to others. You make all soldiers proud brother
Semper fi marine

From a Navy Dad.
🇧🇷♥️🇺🇸🇧🇷♥️
A living Legend.
How can you dislike this video he saved his marine buddy’s from a grenade and fuckin lived to tell the story about it. Like honestly god was watching over him , saw his sacrifice and gifted him with another chance at life this is truly amazing.
God bless you Marine semper fi, and thank you!
