Thank you so much for your perspective and sharing your experiene. Being a musician on yt can be hard especially to burn out. So many things to worry about for a singe person who's trying to fugure things out. You're right it's a long game and have to show up so the fans don't forget about you
You're welcome! Absolutely, it can become really hard! We have a saying in french that translates to "slowly but surely", that's a good one :) I'm glad you were able to relate with everything from the video!
Wow. I can honestly say that u really have come a long way. It hasn't taken you a very long time. College takes 4 to 6 years. Learning a trade takes a while. Your vids today are extremely fast-paced and to the point. No interruptions or pauses of speech. No, ahh or umms. U could teach a public speaking class now. I'm not sure how far I'll go when it comes to my own music, but I can say it has been a pleasure watching u learn and grow over the past several years. I hope your career lasts a long time! Awesome vid, went and slightly tweeked my insta bio after watching this, been watching stuff like this for years now from everyone haha, really liked your vid though great reminders, keeps me int he right headspace, great stuff and cheers for the great tips! :)
As someone who rarely post comments under other videos, after watching your video i guess i have to :D So thanks for your tipps. especially that long term stuff ist very helpfull.
I seriously needed all of these tips, your channel has been in and out of my entire journey and I’m forever grateful for creators like you that help small upcoming artists like myself 🙏🏽 great channel and video
I totally understand that, and in the end it's all a "if you really want it", then I'd probably have to try all that too. But it would be great, if the music is all that's needed. I'd rather not use or even exploit people's 3 second attention spans even if it's relatively inevitable and i may try random stuff... A fanbase based on pure satisfaction and or enjoyment of the music would be my goal, even though very unrealistic, i get that.😄
In order to keep it sustainable, I’d say you can do 3-4x/week :) also just find a type of content you can make that works and is easy for you to make, make your life easy!
I actually was thinking about making a video about that topic but in my opinion it depends on what your goals are, what you want, what you are willing to do etc... If you look at artists like JVKE and Forrest Frank, they literally owe their success to making videos online about their music ;) But there are obviously other routes if you prefer, it really depends on each person!
Sorry but I'm not really understanding something about. Regarding mistake #1 you're saying its our fault to tell the consumer to grow through just a couple of links to listen our song and that we are selfish by doing so because we are only benefitting from them. I don't see how putting a music snippet in the same scenario is gonna change that fact because the only difference is they didn't click some links to listen to the whole song. We're still benefiting off it because we got someone to listen to it and if they were truly interested, they would take the time to listen it, a song is no more than 2 mins unless atp you're saying we are battling people's attention spans and laziness. But even with that being said, the whole point IS to get someone to listen to something we put our time and energy into i don’t see how its selfish at all. Now regarding the last mistake you mentioned, can you honestly blame someone for giving up too soon? There are countless times where people will put in a lot of effort into their videos just for it to go nowhere while there are others who seem to barely put effort in and blow up within a matter of weeks. It's not fair and all these platforms are killing engagement you cannot win.

I don't understand at all how at the end of 2023 people are still on this. Social media is not the juggernaut that people thought it was. Most huge artists don't use social media at all, it's a distraction. "Musicians" that are worrying this much about their social media are influencers that dabble in music, not real musicians that are focused on making great music. I don't tour or play any shows at all any more (when I used to make a lot of money solely through music), and don't use social media at all, and still make probably more side income off of music than "musicians" or dj's that have wasted their time working on their social media follows and likes rather than making anything that actually sounds good.
btw, idk why this came up on my feed .. but it didn't make me interested in listening to your music. It made me think that you're wasting time on videos and more than likely haven't made anything remotely worth listening to as a result.
if you doing for everyone else youre doing it wrong people dont want to help you. if youre homeless they actually want you to stay homeless make music for yourself and if it takes off it takes off

That was a good take on the subject.
Millions of people are doing this already, but the algorithms prioritize few people who focus on “game”, not art. Accept reality….
Truth
If you are doing this solely for the art you wouldn't need to worry about what others do because making the art for your own enjoyment is all you need

Great video though we might question the real sense of all this for a regular musician given the investment required.
