I like the innovation that was made but for the sugar component, can I just use dark brown sugar instead of white refined sugar? I have never utilized white sugar for the last 30 years or so. How about pure honey?
Was your turon crisp to start with? If so, you need to thicken the sauce more. It has to be really sticky so the turon does not absorb the sauce. Please try it again and tell me how it turns out.

If you use brown sugar just be watchful. It burns quickly once it starts melting
