    15:44 I‘m saying this much:
The most serious episodes of Rebels aren‘t as serious as the most serious episodes of Clone Wars. However, the most childish episodes of Rebels also aren‘t as childish as the most childisch ones of Clone Wars. (Therefore, the tone of Rebels is more consistent.)
In total, the tone overall is more or less the same if you compare Rebels to Clone Wars. What they have in common: They both mature with each season. The difference: Clone Wars was supposed to be a show only for kids. But after analyzing the demographics the producers realized most of the viewers were adults. So the tone got more serious and darker.
Rebels on the other hand knew from the beginning they wanted to appeal to all audiences after the experience had with clone wars. I think this is the reason, people can get faster into Rebels than Clone Wars.

    • @arc4859

For reference, at this time Kanan is 29, Hera is 23, Sabine is 17, Zeb is 78. I highly recommend you check out A New Dawn. It was the first novel to be released after Disney took over. It's about how Kanan and Hera first met and was set 10 years after Revenge. The 12 issue comic series Kanan: The Last Padawan is set during the first season. But is told in 3 different timelines. During blue milk run, Kanan relives his time as an apprentice, and when he was on the run after 66. There is a video, an audio comic that tells the story in chronological order. Also there are a series of shorts that go along with Spark of Rebellion. Basically small 2 min stories that introduce each character. The best one is "Machine in the Ghost." They were released shortly before the show premiered.

Many things in Rebels are inspired by concept art for the original trilogy. Zeb being a "Hairless Wookiee" in the one episode is a reference to his character design being inspired by the original concept art for Chewbacca, and Chopper is based on the original concept art for R2-D2.
Several characters from Rebels show up later in other Star Wars shows and movies. Zeb makes an appearance in The Mandalorian, Chopper and their ship are in Rogue One, and The Grand Inquisitor is in Kenobi.
Plus Hera, Chopper, Sabine, and a few other characters will be in the Ahsoka show, making it essentially a continuation of Rebels.

My one "advice" is, this is not Clone Wars. Dont see it as Clone Wars 2.0. It has similarities and returning characters but Rebels is it own thing, try and push Clone Wars out of your mind and see Rebels as its own story. By the way, SW: Rebels also takes place at the same time as Andor... in Andor ep. 5 they mention insurgent activity on Kessel, which was a quick reference to the freeing of the wookies by the Ghost crew.

Fun fact, the design of Zeb, was the original design for Chewacca, but George Lucas wasn't quite fond of how it would look.
And also since you already seen Bad Batch, then you already saw Kanan Jarrus (the jedi) as a kid. In the first episode, when Order 66 goes in effect, there's a master Jedi Depa Billaba, and his apprentice Caleb Dume a.k.a. Kanan Jarrus. The clones killed Depa Billaba, but Kanan managed to escape thanks to the Bad Batch. And also, you already saw Zeb in the last season of the Mandalorian, he was in the Rebel's bar, and had a scene talking with Capitan Carson Teva.

I went into rebels looking for a reason to hate it. The first season especially didn’t give me much reason to reconsider my stance, but by the time I finished this show I was genuinely sad that it was over. I still don’t love the animation, but there’s so much that I’m so excited for you all to see.

Yes Rebels is a slow burn, but from season 1 episode 10 (damn i lovve this one) to season 4 (will make you tears up), it is by far the best Star Wars on screen ;)

So the show runner of clone wars and rebels is Dave Filoni. He's also kinda an executive producer of the live action shows and the show runner of Avatar.

    • @Darth_Mornabin
      @Darth_Mornabin ปีที่แล้ว +5

Filoni wasn’t showrunner of Avatar. He just directed and wrote a couple episodes in season 1. Afterwards Filoni got hired by George Lucas to be the supervising director of clone wars.
      Best Regards

I'm glad you guys enjoyed these, as it took me longer to become fond of it. I think the beginning of Clone Wars seems much more childish to you guys is because it was their first real go at at. Starting Rebels off they probably knew some of the do's and don'ts because of Clone Wars

So glad y’all are starting Rebels. Aside from original trilogy Rebels is my fav Star Wars. It doesn’t have arcs like Clone wars but will have focused episodes and “juicy juicy” content Roll Tide.

Huh good to see your enjoying it. Wasn't expecting for you to like it tbh but that's good. The lows aren't as low as it was in clone wars but there is quite a bit of filler episodes but the good ones are good

This takes place 15 years after revenge of the sith, 5 years after obi-wan, 1 year after Andor, and 4 years before new hope. So the Empire is at its peak during this era, we probably didn’t see a lot of them because Lothal doesn’t hold any significance that that requires a bigger imperial presence. As of yet at least ;)

There was a ride at Disney called Star Tours. The ship was the same as the one in Episode 3 and piloted by the same droid who was voice by Paul Reubens (Pee Wee Herman) on the ride and this episode as well.

You'll find the Season Premiers and Finales of each season are at least 2 episode arcs, and there are a few spread throughout the seasons, but most of the show is a sprawling narrative.

Another reason the Imperial army seems small is that the emperor has total control of the galaxy. There are no real clear opponents, just various small rebel cells. The Empire is now relying on terrifying weapons of war without need of a huge army. Even on the Death Star in Ep.4, there are many dark, empty corridors and only little handfuls of stormtroopers here and there.
