    I've purchased the same breather for my '13 Forty-Eight. That was a fun watch...you're a great teacher. Love the paint job... Thank you

      Thanks Sean. I'll make another video as soon as my new pipes come in and when my garage gets warmer.

    That's what I'm waiting on as well. I have the 2.5" Samson Shorties in chrome that I'm going to wrap. They have removable baffles and I wanted something other than the V&H short shots that everyone seems to have. Great pipes but too common.

      Thanks. It was done by Camille of London, Kentucky. She is famous in this state for her motorcycle paint jobs.

    I have a 2015 '48 and '72, can I use the same tuner on both bikes? Great video easy to follow.

      +Vince Hungate Yes, but you'll have to buy a separate license for the second bike. It's cheaper than buying two tuners.

    Great vid, can you tell me what size socket bit the 12 point crank case requires?

    • @x67y76x67
      @x67y76x67  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a one-half inch socket.

    Great video. Although you didn’t need to replace the gasket. Where can I find one? Been looking online for awhile now. When I first put the cleaner on about a a year ago. I cut it out of a sheet. Then I went and got a breather kit and that cut out isn’t cutting it anymore. Any help much appreciated, thanks !

    I like the filter, was going to do it myself. Didn't know about the flash tune though... Think it makes a difference? How much do those flash tuners run? It's about 500-600 bucks for the dealer to do the stage 1 commander upgrade.. Bike looks great, thanks for the vid

      This one was not cheap, about 4 or 5 hundred dollars, but you can tune it all you want. I'll be adding new pipes and will tune it again. You can also change the tune while you are riding. The tuner also has an autotune feature that monitors the bike for, say 50 miles, and then offers a suggested new tune that you can flash to your bike. The Power Vision also has a lot of different gauges (example, engine temp., rpms, gear position and many more) that you can use when you aren't tuning. When you get another bike, you don't have to get another tuner, although you do have to buy a license for each new bike. I bought this tuner before I bought my bike because I knew that I was going to make changes. I hope this helps.

    Hey were do u get this tune equipment? Also is this necessary to do when changing air filter?

    • @x67y76x67
      @x67y76x67  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      NightCrawler I used Dyno Jet's Power Vision tuner, but many other brands are available including Vance and Hines. If you are adding a high-air flow breather, you need to adjust your electronic control module. Most breathers that you would add would be this type.

    How much do one of those air filters cost? I really like the brass accents. Back in the 70's and 80's when I changed air filters and or pipes I did not have any computer tuner gizmo's just changed and went. I really never noticed any difference at all. Are they really necessary or just a way to strap you for more cash?does it have to do with the electronic ignition or do you use them on carb. bikes also.

      @x67y76x67  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When you change the flow into your engine or change the flow out of your engine, it is a good idea to adjust the carburetor or the fuel injection (via the electronic control module). I have ruined an engine by not making adjustments when I changed the exhaust system. I once cut our the exhaust system and ran straight pipes. I ended up burning my valves and practically ruining the engine. In addition, if you make changes on a modern bike, you need to make adjustments. It is easy to tell when someone hasn't, their bike will make all kinds of pops and backfires when they let of the throttle otherwise. My bike doesn't do that at all.

    After riding the bike with the air filter, have you been experiencing any problems with oil blowback? I've got the same filter and my bike is covered after every ride even after I flashed a new tune.

    • @x67y76x67
      @x67y76x67  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've only got 1100 miles on my bike, most of it with the Joker air intake. I have never experienced the oil residue that you are talking about. I'll keep an eye out for it in the future. If you think the oil is coming from the air intake, you might try to troubleshoot it by re-installing the old intake, and see if that solves the problem. Also, you might talk to your local Harley service people and see if they have some ideas about the source of the oil. I hope you are able to solve this problem. If you do solve it, please let me know here. Thanks.

      Stephen, could you have too much oil in the reservoir? I've heard if it is too full you can wind up with oil blowing out of the breathers. There is a high and a low line on the dipstick and I keep mine at 1/2 to 3/4 but never right at the high line. Hope you get it figured out.

    • @stephenburd2373
      @stephenburd2373 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      plainoldjason I keep my oil at around the same mark but still have the blow back problem. I think it's the design of the air cleaner. The oil just runs out of the breather bolts, collects, and drips down to the bottom of the filter where it pools up. During a ride more oil will deposit, begin to drip, and then blow back on my pipes and and body of the bike.

      Maybe I am killing it. The thing should still work though until it dies and should quit spitting oil!

    Hey there, Didn't the Power Vision ask you if you wanted to save the stock tune?

    • @x67y76x67
      @x67y76x67  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it does and I did, but I've never needed to use it.

    • @Curt8153

      when I changed over to the new V&H Big Radius I did another auto tune with the stock tune. Runs great now with no decal popping at all. There's a video here on the tube on how to do an auto tune.

      After I added my Rush slipons, I flashed their suggested tune to get it close to ideal, then I used autotune for about fifty miles and then flashed the new suggested tune. PowerVision is great.

    • @Curt8153
      @Curt8153 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup! Much better than V&H Fuelpak.

    why didn't you go with the screaming eagle super tuner? Just asking my son has a 2014 48 and radius pipes they were tuned from day one.. now he wants a breather and they are suggesting a screaming eagle super tuner and dyno.. 800.00 bucks..

    • @x67y76x67
      @x67y76x67  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      James Barnett I studied the tuners and this one seemed to be the most versatile regardless of ones selection of pipes and breathers. You can change these around and retune the bike. And it has autotune. One drives around for twenty to fifty miles while the unit collects data. Then it calculates the best tune for your bike. And, if you want, you can fine tune any of the parameters on the fly. When I get another Harley, I can tune it with the same tuner when I buy an extra license from dynojet, which I plan to do.
