      How about you label the % of oxygen rather than stating 95% pure. Where that is 95% pure aviators air. Which is around 21% oxygen. At elevations where oxygen is not diminished can you explain how this product helps ? I would LOVE to hear the benefits of this over just breathing.

    Oxygen deprivation at only 10,000' doesn't mean "take an oxygen hit and keep climbing." It means you need to get back down and acclimate before continuing. Ten thousand feet is not not high altitude. Pilots are not required to turn on the oxygen generators until they hit 14,000'. If you feel bad at 10,000' for safety's sake you need to get to a lower altitude fast. Cerebral Edema and/or Pulmonary Edema follow oxygen depravation. I've been living and climbing in the Rockies most of my long life and have watched mountain rescue risking their own lives to bring down people who over-estimated their level of conditioning. This is not about being tough and driving on. It isn't about how tough you are. It's about how smart you are. If you are grimacing from oxygen depravation as Mr. Duncan seems to be doing in this video, you need to get to a lower altitude and acclimate.

    • @AlphonsoDuncan
      @AlphonsoDuncan  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Very good points! As always, safety’s first! Seems like you’re very well versed with hiking high altitudes. However, I’m not. I’m learning as I go. I was a 220lb power lifter at the time who needed more oxygen into my body than I felt I was breathing in. Oxygen Boost did it for me, making hiking more enjoyable. With living alongside the beach where oxygen is plentiful to hiking +10k ft. for cheap thrills, I easily noticed what I lacked, which caused me to slow down. Oxygen Boost became a Godsend when I saw it in the store. Especially after testing it and experiencing the difference.

    In 2014, I climbed Mt. Elbert in Colorado (14,440 ft) with my 11-year-old and 14-year-old sons - all of us experienced hikers. We were well aware of the possible high-altitude complications. My 11-year-old used Boost a few times on the way up and my 14-year-old used it after we returned to the trailhead (~10,000 ft). It made a huge difference for both of them. People often make fun of Boost, as if they expect it will give them a high or something - I'm guessing these people have never experienced high-altitude oxygen deprivation.

    • @stevenwhitesell4066
      @stevenwhitesell4066 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The situations you described are good uses for this product. The oxygen at 10,000 feet is like 14.5% so using a product that has 21% oxygen makes sense. I make fun of people that use this product at 2000 feet and think it helps. It has no more oxygen than the ambient air. So many think the 95% pure means 95% oxygen when it is actually 95% aviators air which is 21% oxygen.

      @@stevenwhitesell4066 I live in the PNW, so we cross the cascade mountains (and hike in them) frequently, which are 3,000ft to 6,000ft. Never needed oxygen for myself or any of my young kids.
      However, we are taking a long driving adventure/camping through the mountains in another state soon and we'll be above 12,000ft at a few points, might even camp at those altitudes. To be safe I went ahead and bought a bottle of Boost Oxygen. Figured better safe than sorry. For non-athlete's I think very next best thing is for those who go to high altitudes. We live at sea level, so our bodies are acclimated to normal oxygen saturated air.
