He insisted on not going into a hospital, and so this was bought in order to help him cope with his heavy breathing. I highly believe this product saved his life.
Same with my dad. He didn’t want to go to the hospital bc he was afraid they’d intubate him, his O2 was 88! My brother found these at CVS and got a bunch. They helped so much while waiting to get an oxygen concentrator for him.
I've watched many episodes of Shark Tank and somehow this is still my favorite episode. Both the entrepreneurs and sharks (except Barb) are very professional, so enjoyable to watch.
My family went to Joshua Tree California and my dad who has Kidney issues started experiencing breathing problem. We didn't realize the altitude difference would cause such a strong reaction/problem for him. We ran to the store looking for anything that could help and we saw these on the shelves. They potentially helped saved my fathers life and I'm sure they’ll help save others. I'm so glad these aren't an online only product like Kevin suggested.
As a born and raised Floridian, when me and my family went up to Colorado for a few weeks, this thing came in clutch. We were all sick and stumbled in a store where my mom got a bunch of these canisters and it helped so much. 💯
This product is now in every Walgreens store in the Chicago suburban area and I bought 2 of them; a small and a large, for cluster headaches, which is treated with home oxygen. I'm thrilled to have oxygen that I can carry when I'm out and about, because oxygen, when taken at the first sign of a cluster headache, can abort the headache which lasts for 3-4 days and is excruciatingly painful. This is a GREAT product! Kudos to the guys who created it.
@Weeaboo Jones The air you normally breathe is only 21% Oxygen - the majority is 78% Nitrogen. Boost is 95% Pure Oxygen, almost like medical oxygen they provide in hospitals. Big difference.

I love how the shark tank formula has not changed for years. Most shows change something which ticks off viewers, but this show has had the same graphics, concept, and people for a while, and I respect that.
Mark's comment about him not feeling was not justified imo. The product is meant for people breathing heavily and needing oxygen in their blood ASAP; he was sitting in a leather couch doing no physical activity, of course he had enough oxygen already!
I used this all the time when I went to Breckinridge! My oxygen got super low while I was there (into the 50s). Literally should have gone to a hospital, but I was able to get it to mid 80s using oxygen bars and these things! I literally always had one with me. Love them!
I impulse purchased one of these at Target these other day….honestly, I love it. When I’m about to have a big meeting at work, I take a breather before. Feels like a calming sensation and also clears off any mental fog

@@adamrandles4055 Oxygen not “air” which is a mixture of gasses. If you’ve just run or ridden several miles as part of your exercise routine…just as some may reach for a sports drink or protein bar to replenish nutrients, they may opt to use this to take in pure Oxygen into their blood stream. Or if someone has lingering effects from Covid they may use this once or more a day. As others have pointed out, when you’re hiking or otherwise in high altitude environments, your blood oxygen level can be affected as well. So yes there are numerous use cases. I’m old enough to remember scoffing at buying bottled water and I ain’t that old.
The problem is that they are trying to sell it as a common use item, and people wont buy it, we dont need more oxygen to be well, we are doing fine, is not a necessity. Like the shark said, they are trying to educate people on an issue they dont even know they have, and that will lead them nowhere. Now, if the "marketing" lets say, of the company or the item itself, was not selling as a "common use item" to improve your quality of life (Wich can, or cannot, but it doesnt make a huge difference) was instead to sell it as an item FOR medical issues, like a replacement for respirators, for example, or for professional athletes (who are well versed on the problems of lack of oxygen, for example hikers) then it would be a completly different story. I see potential on this, they just didnt take the right focus for their item. And the sharks have really good and solid points to not trust in them, at least for now.
Its an item that does close to nothing to improve the quality of life of normal people, but an item that can save lives for a really specific and small group of people, and item that can be vital and that is a really, really good alternative on the market. Now guess, based on the way they sold the item to the sharks, wich of those 2 groups of people is their intended public. Thats the real issue here.
I used this in keystone Colorado... had a horrible headache and was told to look into oxygen... got boost oxygen at a little store and it almost instantly made me feel better... good product and it's super successful over there
These are quite popular amongst general aviation pilots who fly at altitudes high enough where oxygen can help, but isn't required by law. A full aviators breathing system costs hundreds of dollars and is often $100+ per refill (only to last you a few hours) which is difficult to justify unless absolutely required. From a shark perspective, Boost Oxygen is a difficult bet because it's such a niche market that is somewhat between a commodity and an informed purchase. For those familiar with this necessity, however, Boost's products really have a place in the market and I think the market share reflects that. As long as Boost maintains its course I think they'll remain a steadily profitable company for quite a while.
The convience of them having it in a store not online was so much better when we traveled to Colorado. We didnt have to pre order and ship it somewhere and figure out that mess. You cant bring it on a plane, so we were able to go to walmart and grab cans for pikes peak. Loved the product, no issues. I would buy it again for a similar occasion. I think they are wrong about forcing the online market (which i believe this is an old ep)
I agree, after being in Boulder and realizing how much the elevation killed me there. I had planned to go to Estes a day or two later which is much higher at 10k feet. Helped me a ton.
I have 1 of these! Couldn't breathe one morning, sister ran to one of the sports shop to get me this product! Was useing this when ambulance came. Paramedics saw what I was useing and exchanged it for more oxygen to be connected to their machines. When I arrived to the hospital, the paramedics asked me if they could keep it because they had never seen this product, anywhere or heared about it, too. I used all the ox. and gave it to the guys. They were fascinated with it and very interested. This is a must product for every household! A great investment, Mr Wonderful!❤☝
Isn't this a fantastic product for the current situation in the world , the need of oxygen cylinders since pandemic has increased. Damn , Kevin made a good deal with this one.
Not really... this is just compressed air in a container. It got 200 inhales too, so is gonna last you less than 10 minutes if you needed to breath with it... but it would be useless if you had COVID, and needed oxygen. Not only that is small, but it doesn't contain enough oxygen. Is the typical 'health' product, who over-promises and falsely advertises benefits and composition.
Barbra: "I'm out" (But I am going to ask additional questions because I still want to be on the show even though I've only invested in 3 things in my entire life)
Little tanks like this are the only way a lot of elderly can get around. The fact that this is so much cheaper then the big cylinders you get from hospitals and you don’t have to go through a big process to get them is great.
Not only could my mother and grandmother benefit from this from a medical standpoint, I would absolutely use this hiking, snowboarding, etc. I really like this product. And I'm sure covid really had this thing selling like hotcakes, and once people see it's ease and benefit they're probably going to use it in all kinds of situations.
I've used supplemental oxygen when sick with flu. It was life changing. As a regular person, i would definitely buy this in a store for just use to boost my body's function.
They've finally done it, they've canned air and are charging for it. Don't get me wrong, I know that oxygen is essential and some may need this concentration of oxygen as opposed to the concentration provided by the natural air, but similar to water, people around me used to say that eventually people will start charging for air just like they do with water. This just reminded me of that.
Keeping in mind the entire human population has been affected one way or another by Covid a respiratory disease … charging for concentrated oxygen is a genius way to become wealthy.
The oxygen percentage in the air is 16%. Having boost of oxygen helps you relax and repair the body quickly, eventually increasing life expectancy. This is a great product. Don't mix it with air around you....try to sleep with an oxygen intake and it will change your life. 😇
boost oxygen has helped me whenever i was visiting colorado (i live at about 20 ft above sea level) so it was a big change for me with the altitude and the oxygen helped me so much
The thing I actually like about Mr Wonderful is that it's all business. He doesn't need to pretend to be someone's friend - and in business you should always be sceptical of people who do pretend to be your best friend. Just make a deal, or not, and move on.
I work at Denver International Airport and these sell like food. You see them everywhere because many haven't been on high altitude. You even see them at the gas stations, pharmacies, Walmart and groceries stores around
I wish I had this product when I had altitude sickness a few years ago... I almost blacked out while hiking Mt Whitney and legit felt myself dying but luckily I was able to stay conscious and barely gather myself enough to get myself down... This would have been amazing at that moment.
I remember seeing this product recently in a little shop in Evergreen, Colorado, it’s a smart product for business and for customer wellbeing and I hope to see them succeed in the future :)
As someone with a panic disorder and extreme anxiety, the medical inhaler just suggests not to take more than 2 otherwise one starts shivering so this is something I'd personally like to invest in because lack of breathing during the attacks causes extreme chest, throat pains and muscle contractions in the body speaking from personal experience
You should address your anxiety rather than purchasing canned oxygen for when you have panic attacks. When you have panic attacks you are able to breath, and breath too quickly rather than not enough which is what causes the muscle contractions. You do not lack oxygen, so using one of these would be a waste of money.
I’m so so so glad they did go to retail. Picked up a couple of cans of this stuff from Cabela’s on Friday after a stay in the hospital. Kinda feel like it saved my life. Thank you, Boost Oxygen.
I got altitude sickness like crazy my first day skiing, I was absolutely wiped. Second day I got one of these canisters and I swear it was a night and day difference. Every once in a while I'd hit it to get my oxygen saturation bumped up and I felt like a million bucks. I suggest this for any lowlander heading into the thin air.
It always good to have a few cans of oxygen in you med kit at home... Never know when you might need it. I think this is a wonderful product. It is not just for those with breathing problems but also for those who feel nauseous while travelling... I always carry one in my car.
When I had a disruptive asthma attack once time (years ago) when at work, the emergency responders administered oxygen to me. I responded positively almost instantly. Within less than 10 minutes, I was fine. There are many markets they have not even developed yet. The whole point of establishing new markets is to educate people about a product they don't know they need yet (light indoor electric lighting, for instance).
With 200 inhales, and breathing problems, this would last you 5 minutes at best. Also, this is an inhaler, not a breathing device. And is useless for Covid anyway, is not an oxygen tank, is just compressed air in a can.
I saw a something similar (or maybe it was Boost Oxygen) being sold in a store and I thought to myself, "why would I pay for something thats free?" it never occurred to me that this product can boost work out performance and oxygen levels in higher altitude elevations. I'll be looking to buy one next time I see it!

@@adamrandles4055 air has ~20% oxygen

Not really... this is just compressed air in a container. Not only charging for air, but also taxing you based on every breath. CO2 bad, remember...
Keeping in mind the entire human population has been affected one way or another by Covid a respiratory disease … charging for concentrated oxygen is a genius way to become wealthy.

As someone with a panic disorder and extreme anxiety, the medical inhaler just suggests not to take more than 2 otherwise one starts shivering so this is something I'd personally like to invest in because lack of breathing during the attacks causes extreme chest, throat pains and muscle contractions in the body speaking from personal experience
i was thinking the exact same!!
How have you been managing your stress and anxiety lately ?
You should address your anxiety rather than purchasing canned oxygen for when you have panic attacks. When you have panic attacks you are able to breath, and breath too quickly rather than not enough which is what causes the muscle contractions. You do not lack oxygen, so using one of these would be a waste of money.
