Adam these videos mean a lot for those of us with disabilities that can’t travel around well. No travel channel could compete with this I feel like I’m part of the trip along with the family
I make videos here in Gatlinburg TN Smoky Mountains Park and I love reading notes that my video helps those who can't travel to Gatlinburg. ..so I understand completely what you're saying 🏞️
I'm one of those shutends... 7 long years and counting... BUT thanks to Adam and other young travelers channels I follow out here. They help me make it through the day and some long sleepless nights... BBE...
The hostess on the train was so friendly. She must have really added to the experience 😂 I recommend driving to the top, you can take your time and travel at your own pace
Adam - just want to shout you out for all of the diverse and adventurous vlogs the past few weeks. Love your positive attitude always. You've motivated me to do some traveling outside of my comfort zone.
I dont often comment on your videos Adam but I wanted to let you know that you're looking great. Well done on your weight loss and healthier lifestyle. You've inspired me.
We drove up Pikes peak and the drive was beautiful. I did get a little dizzy at the top. The ranger said drink a lot of water next time. I did drink a lot of water the next time and I had no issues . It was 97 degrees at the bottom and 37 at the top.
Adam, thank you for taking me along with you all! Never been nor, will ever get to go to Pikes Peak! Really enjoyed your video! Absolutely beautiful scenery and views! I'll pass on the oysters! Your catfish looked so good. Looking forward to your next vlog. YOU ROCK!!!!!!
It's been wild to watch you on these recent videos because it pretty much mirrors a trip I took with my family back in 2021. I was thrilled to watch your Royal Gorge video yesterday because we did the train, but didn't have time for the bridge. And now Pike's Peak! Which we managed to do. Watching you helps me relive those memories. Thank you!
Another great adventure with you and your family, Adam. Fun to tag along as you experience some of Colorado highlights, while I watch from my Denver apt. This is a fun "stay cation " and reminds me why I love being someone born, raised and still living in Colorado! 🏔🌞🚞
I love oysters. My mom got me hooked on them. Every Summer when I went to my grandparents in Mississippi we would go to Biloxi. There were seafood restaurants on the Gulf. This was before they added all the casinos. You would see all the oyster shells on the side of the restaurants. Absolutely love them. I love catfish.
I'm surprised you didn't mention being dizzy. I could barely walk I was so dizzy. I went there in 1997, and the trains and buildings at the top were very old. They've really built it up and modernized it.
Only 5 minutes in whilst i enjoy watching & eating Dinner. Awesome armchair travelling and always a pleasure seeing Maw & Paw Woo. Thanks Adam ☺ 👍🏻 Love from Scotland 🏴 🇺🇸 🦅 🦄
Always enjoy all your content Adam but this last series of days is being like on a summer vacation. As a mountain climber when I was young I especially enjoyed today as it took me back to the good old days standing on top of the world surveying the scenery all around. Can't beat Colorado and Utah for its scenery.
Thank you, Adam, for sharing your family vacation with us. I always enjoy seeing them. Ya'll stay safe and have a grand time! 🙏 37 degrees? Ya'll might need that hoodie after all. 🥶
Adam, try driving it next time. The,Cog Railway is fun, bur driving is the experience of a life time! Also, hold in your head that, at 14,110 feet, Pike's Peak is nearly 4,000 feet below Mt Everest's Nepal base camp. I thought I wanted to see Everest.... till I tried to get a good breath on Pike's summit. Nope; unreal. I stood up there and kept thinking "NOW, I 'get' John Denver." The empty Gatorade bottles I'd stowed on my backseat floor were completely crushed by the altitude change when I got back to Manitou Springs. It was a great day, and for a Floridian, the experience of a lifetime!
I crunch my water bottles too Mama Woo, and yeah of course you have to put the cap back on to seal it so the bottle stays rolled up. If you know, you know. 🤣
That was fun for about 18 minutes 🤣🤣 Adam . I thought it was cool seeing a family trip into the mountains 🏔️🏔️ the quick look reminds me when Clark Griswold looking really fast at the Grand canyon lol😂😂 beautiful scenery.that lady was rude . I would think if someone went up the mountain early can spend a day an take a train back down
I've hiked up this hill twice (Barr trail). 2nd time around, my wife got HACE like 1km from the summit which slowed our pace considerably; we missed the last train down and hitched a ride down with this lady who was watching me struggle to get the wife over the finish line. That mountain looms over the springs like Mt. Doom. Awesome video.
That is so cool, the train ride up to the mountains. I love stuff like that, I'm so jealous. The train conductor was direct and to the point. Comes off rude but it's more that she knows her job and wants to do it correctly. I need a trip like this
Great video, Thanks for taking me to PikesPeak, it was fun, I learned a lot today too, I like your sister, she should vlog with you,, The one thing I didn’t like was the attitude of the female train conductor? A great video with the family, Making good memories! ❤️🐿️🦆☕️
The pink rock the mountain is made of is Pikes Peak Granite which is 1080 million years old. The rock was once located under 15,000 of sedimentary rock before being uplifted during the Laramide Orogeny 60 million years ago. Thats about 30,000 feet of uplift in total. The rocks the mountain is made of originally were deeply buried.
I could listen to all of you just laugjing for a whole video. Your editing along with your dad's one offs are priceless 35:05 Mom: asking serious question Dad: "tastes like chicken" ATW: cut and scene
Now you know why they sell sweat shirts at the bottom. When we went I had done my research and brought my winter jacket. It was 80 at the bottom, we never made the top as there was a blizzard and there was two feet of snow at the top. They stopped at a place with some picnic tables so we could get out and stretch.
My family was in Colorado Springs for pur family reunion. We were going to go to pikes peak but wasn't running do to weather that day. My dad couldn't go due to his 2 heart surgeries. So we forgot about it and never went. Love Manitou springs. Thank you for showing this, due to my favorite uncles and aunts family members passing i wont be visiting again as my dad passed too. Ill cherish the memories i have from the past.
Love seeing you with your family MAKING MEMORIES!!! Awesome. And the oysters you had are not far from where my Dad is. Ill have to see i I can get them next time I visit VA. Thanks Adam
Thank You Thank You Thank You Adam. That was some breath taking scenery from up there. Another awesome place many of us would never get to see otherwise. Much respect and appreciation for what you do for us.
I had forgotten that I went to Pikes Peak in high school. We drove and the roads were so scary (I hope they have improved since then). A local was driving and the drive down was terrifying because it felt like my side of the car was going to fly off the side of the mountain.
I love that you are showing these types of videos. It’s exactly stuff like this that inspire the imagineers. Went in this 7 years ago. Such an amazing journey up and down that mountain. Love that area of CO.
MAN, it's really cool seeing all these places in your video we just came back from seeing. You're going in the opposite direction, but Quray, silverton, Grand Lakes are some pretty cool mountain towns we saw. Enjoying this series!
I’m a native Floridian married to a native Coloradoan. I’ve been out there a few times now. I absolutely can not handle the elevation. I’d always wanted to see Pikes Peak in person but we spent an afternoon in Cripple Creek prior to that, and it made me feel as sick as a dog, and that’s somewhere between 9k and 10k feet.
I did the Cog Railway last year. I drank so much water on the way up that I had to desperately pee all the way back! lol. The donuts at the top are pretty great as they are made at 14,115 feet. Nice and airy and if you bring one back down with you it will collapse :) Also of note, in the parking lot where you parked is the entrance to the Manitou Incline which is where a lot of the US Olympic team does endurance training as it is a steep set of steps that used to be part of a vernicular railway at one time.
Pikes park is so beautiful in the winter with the snow capped mountains. I sure do miss the views and Garden Of The Gods the most. Thank you for this trip! Keep on being you, Adam! 👍❤️
Morning Adam, I was hoping you would make it to Pikes Peak. My grandparents were there in the middle 1960's. I still have the slides of their trip. When I was in the Army in Colorado Springs, I drove up a couple of times, rode the cog quite a few times, and walked from the bottom up to the treeline once. The elevation gets you in many ways. Made my car very angry with me.
thanks for the nostalgia! it has been 60 years since i took the train up the peak. no visitors center back then. just a tiny green shack for some hot chocolate.
Love all the conversation on the train lol, the lady walking past tipping out the coffee 😂 and your mam helping you drink yours lol 😄 the views were beautiful! I love it when you can see the rain in the distance, just a blurry block under the clouds, so cool. The sunlight was so pretty too, it's so gloomy here today 😕 Inspiration point was interesting! Your sister made me laugh popping in view behind you with the oysters lol 😊
I've see other train cars like that but they don't force you down fast, they let folks ride down when they are ready, so you don't necessarily ride down with the same folks, you can enjoy it up top and go down when ready until the last trains leave< I like that idea better because you can see what you want and enjoy the top peacefully without stress, thanks for sharing this with us Adam
When I took the train up to the summit, it was fairly early in the day, and you could spend as much time as you wanted or until the alarm about the last trains leaving. There was quite a bit of snow up there, and going up to the summit house, gift shop there was probably 4 ft of snow on the sides of the path. Have been on cog RR's in the Alps and of course Mt Washington. I believe the Pike Peaks RR train set is built in Switzerland.
I was there almost a month ago, it was covered in snow, deep snow. My sons and I travelled all over Colorado, driving over Monarch Pass, it was snowing. Pikes Peak is one of our favorite spots. Garden of the Gods is a must see.
Oh so nice your Dad & Mom & friends are with you on this trip; 👍 I'm getting dizzy just thinking about how high up that Pikes Peak is, & 37 degrees!! up there!! A mere change from Fla. 106 weather!! have Fun!! always nice traveling with you!
AFTER PAYING THAT MUCH MONEY I WOULD OF BEEN TALKING WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE WHEN I GOT BACK DOWN ABOUT CUTTING OUR TIME SO SHORT UP ON THE PIKE. Paying $70.00 expecting to spend 30-45 minutes up there and had less than 20 minutes I for sure would of wanted some form of compensation...
I really want to thank you for all the Colorado videos. I was born and raised in Colorado and now live in California. I have been to all these places. My maternal grandma lived in Devide, Colorado. If memory serves me correctly That is a town at the base of Pikes peak. She was the telephone operator and had the switch board in her home. The last time I went to Pikes Peak we went on an old fashioned cog train. It is so modern now. I am a little bit disappointed. I am learning, from your videos, that you can’t go home again and expect it to be like it was when I lived in Greeley, Colorado and went to all these places you are visiting. Are you going to Mt Evens? That is higher then Pikes Peak. Mt Ebert is the highest mountain in Colorado. Again, thank you for these videos of your adventures in Colorado. ❤
I can't believe they didn't let ya'll stay longer or have the coffee. You had a lid on it. It was pretty up there, but I enjoyed ya'lls conversation more than the train trip. I think I would drive up there. I would be on my own time. Thanks for sharing. Be safe and Happy Trails.
i have been to see my aunt in the springs twice now and both times they have been closed i have wanted to go it’s very cool to do this i really appreciate you sharing i hope you went to the gorge and a few other places it’s just so beautiful
Love the starbuck’s Pike’s Place blende reference. Drove up Pike’s Peak in 2016. Took cog railway to the top of Mt. Washington in NH last year. We definitely got to spend more time at the top.
I have been wanting to do this but $70 pp is a pretty steep price, especially since you can't go at your own pace. What a shame! I wonder if it was because it was so late in the day? I'm thinking the hostess wanted to leave for the day and rushed the tour back down.
Adam these videos mean a lot for those of us with disabilities that can’t travel around well. No travel channel could compete with this I feel like I’m part of the trip along with the family

She was the best.
I visited back in August of 2022. Our conductor/host was very into his job and didn't miss a beat.
I recommend walking. Have done the Barr Trail five times and the hike from the Crags Campground to the west three times.
Adam - just want to shout you out for all of the diverse and adventurous vlogs the past few weeks. Love your positive attitude always. You've motivated me to do some traveling outside of my comfort zone.

We drove up Pikes peak and the drive was beautiful. I did get a little dizzy at the top. The ranger said drink a lot of water next time. I did drink a lot of water the next time and I had no issues . It was 97 degrees at the bottom and 37 at the top.

I have been wanting to do this but $70 pp is a pretty steep price, especially since you can't go at your own pace. What a shame! I wonder if it was because it was so late in the day? I'm thinking the hostess wanted to leave for the day and rushed the tour back down.
Looks like a lot of fun, but why were you so rushed to go back down? Was it closing?... I would want to see the museum
I think they make you take the same train you brought up and theirs was leaving. Yeah. Kinda a bummer.
Lived in manitou for a couple of years as a kid. Fond memories. Loved the place. Thanks Adam.
