Bought one last week for $2500, full set, never polished, though last serviced six years ago (and not worn since) - same owner since 2005 when he bought it from the AD. I'm from the early 90's and I truly love the Bond reference. I've always admired this watch. I also have a 2021 SMP in white (my two only ones) and for now I'm keeping both. Thanks for you video.
Just got a full set with boxes and completely Reserviced for $3000. Looks brand new and being serviced just a few days before i purchased it and with all boxes made me comfortable spending a the little extra for it. Can’t wait for it to come. Great review! Thanks for the info.
@@DennisC_X Also very cool but this one just has that OG look from bond days and it's kept up with the same design language in the newest Seamasters as well.
I got the 2541.80 (quartz) for $2050 not too long ago, from a local first owner who bought it back in 2004. Still looks as new, even fading on dial and bezel with the case and bracelet looking mint.
Absolutely agree with u on every point in your vid. Had the ceramic version but it just doesn’t feel as good as this model. I sold it to a friend last month, been thinking bout it everyday. Finally got it back from him, gonna keep the watch for good.
Great vid. I'm looking to get myself a retirement "gift" and Im trying to decide which Seamaster to get. The 2531 and 2220 were my top choices, along with the 2254.50. Tough choice, but your vid was informative, especially regarding the thin case of the 2531, which is appealing to me.
How much did it cost you to refinish your SMP? Exactly like you said, im kinda chasing a 1st gen and would love to fully refinish it so its like getting to wear a brand new one, something we could never do as kids from the 90s
That was the original quartz but in the next movie and everyone after goldeneye, he wore this model which is the same automatic version of that watch. Same watch just different movement. aesthetically exactly the same as the quartz. Hey but even bond switched to the automatic and never went back ;)
I know nothing about watches except that in the 1960s when both Omegas and Rolexes were ~$300, my father in law opted for the Omega. Wore it for nearly fifty years until it was too expensive to repair, then he bought a Timex. My wife recently found a mint 007 40th. It's no longer mint. A few scratches. What can I say? I use my "things". What good is a watch sitting in a box in a drawer? She probably paid way too much, but then I am irresistibly charming.
Hello, how do you compare it's time accuracy to the 222 (CoAxial) ? I trying to decide between both? The CoAxial is a big advantage, but I'm worried about time acquracy and servicing (the CoAxial require less servicing)
believe it or not extremely reliable and so smooth! even for an ETA you would never guess it is one and super cheap to service an eta movement and any servicing tech could easily and cheaply work on it. big advantages with that alone. It has really good accuracy and super smooth seconds hand sweep. very good specs too!

honestly, chrono24 for the best prices and sometimes ebay as they have authenticity guaranteed. Many respected online sellers from Japan have listings up and they are really good with watch sales and deliveries imo.
Amazing timepiece, for me is THE WATCH, I got the same, and the 2254, also got the Casino Royale. The new Semasters D300 are to junky, big, looks more in your face away from tool watch
I prefer the 2531.80 (your old model, 1st gen 300M SMP). I had the 2nd gen ceramic version and it was too thick and clasp wasn't as comfortable. The latest gen ceramic wave SMP is WAY too big for my 16cm wrists. Ridiculous, and Omega are losing customers IMO by not providing a SMP size that competes with the BB58 or BB54. The 2531.80 is one of my favorites, big, but wears small due to thinness and only 41mm diameter, the bracelet is the most comfortable SMP bracelet due to having thinner and more rounded links and clasp, the dial also feels less cluttered with only printing and letting the wave pattern shine. Fantastic watches but the 2531.80 will always be the classic and IMO the watch that made people realize Omega is as good if not better than Rolex.

Thanks for sharing! that's an awesome story and I love the seamaster as well. You got an awesome deal!
I just got the original quartz from the first movie mint condition, mint box and instructions and all… Absolutely love it
I've got one aswell Adam, brilliant time piece
If you don’t mind me asking, where did you buy the quartz in mint condition and for how much? I’m looking for one - ideally the quartz version.
@@YOLT i got mine from H&T PAWN BROKER, i was very lucky,it was reduced from £2500 to £1176 STAR BUY!
Good for you brother, I just bought an Automatic one!

Pretty good deal if you ask me!
How do you feel about this compared to the 2254.50?

I love the older style seamasters!
A true classic indeed.. much better than the casino royale one
Absolutely It's the true bond watch and the most popular one, everyone is scoping for one.
love the comparison...great video!! Thank you!!
Awesome! I'm waiting on some new tunas to be announced!

Which is more beautiful in your opinion between 2 omega ?!
Where did you get your watch refinished? I purchased a 2006 and would like to have it serviced..love your channel!
directly from Omega servicing.

Nice watch ❤
Where do you think I can get one of these? I don’t really know any trusted sellers where I am so I’ll have to go online.

@@watchyoulove yeah I thought so too. I’m kinda torn between a Seamaster Diver 60th Anniversary Edition and the 8500 Planet Ocean that you reviewed.
@@watchyouloveI just bought one of them, should be arriving soon from Japan! Fingers crossed 🤞

How much would it cost to service this watch at omega?
Last time I checked it was a couple hundred dollars! $700ish!
