I love the Amalfi coast.we were there in September and it wasn’t crowded. We saw that same nativity scene. Such good memories.

Pompeii was on my bucket list. I was shocked at how big an area it was spread over. The memories will last with me forever.

I got to see Pompeii in 2006, I would love to go back, and see the changes! Pizza in Pompeii was one of best experiences at that time! Thanks for sharing

We did Pompei and Almaty Coast in August. We sailed from Naples to town of Almafi…beautiful. The heat was an excuse to eat multiple gelatos. Tourist crowds don’t bother me…it is part of being a tourist. Pompei was overwhelming in information. Amazing how things were preserved.

The ash ended up being a good preserver. I would guess that would have to do with the makeup of the rock and soil inside the volcano. So interesting.

We will be in Naples next week, but we won’t be heading to Pompeii this time as we’ve already been there. This time, we’ll be joining a food tour in Naples. Thanks for the little reminder of our time in Pompeii, though.
I’m typing this as we’re in Firenze, because we’ve already done Rome twice.

We visited that area for four days staying in Sorrento. This was late April early May. Went to Amalfi, Pompeii, and Capri. Amazing! Highly recommend visiting this area in the Spring.

We did the Amalfi Coast in September 2021, just post pandemic on a Mediterranean cruise. It was absolutely breathtaking. Loved this video, memories of that amazing trip.

I've been waiting for this part (Pompeii and Rome). This part of the Med has been on my bucket list since I took Latin in high school back in the late 80's

Go prepared for big crowds everywhere in Rome. Even in the fall it was crowded. So much so that we turned around and returned to cruise port. Have been to Rome a number of times previously and didn't feel need to fight the crowds. Having said that Rome is definitely worth the visit and wish you all the best.

Again thanks for sharing Pompei; my 1st cruise in 2004 was Spain, Italy and France! We didn’t know enough and didn’t schedule an excursion but found or way to Pompei and by time we go there it was closed! I love your video showing the areas! I’ll get to return one day!

Beautiful! We missed Pompéi on our cruise to the Mediterranean, we had packed too many excursions in too few days and decided to rest on that day. But we did walk around Naples and of course! We stopped and had pizza! So Pompéi is still on our bucket list. Thanks to your video, it definitely is somewhere we will visit and thank for the pro tips! ❤️

I loved Pompeii as well - absolutely fascinating! One thing that I remember is how uneven the walk around the town was. I was in need of a hip replacement at that time (I've since had that done!) and had to watch every step I took because it was all so uneven. I was a bit mad at myself because I spent so much time looking DOWN while walking and maybe not taking in as much as I'd have liked. We were there in September and it was still hot then. I was SO beat when we were done, but it was totally worth it!

Cool seeing the Sun Princess in port also. We were suppose to be on the maiden voyage last Feb but they cancelled due to ship not completed. We took train from port to Pompeii, easy enough to do. That was Fall 2019 and no crowds at Pompeii. Amazing place. Keep them coming. Thanks,

I was just in Sorrento beginning of September and we went to Amalfi by boat. It was exactly as you described. We did not enjoy it at all. I also had the Lemon gelato in a lemon and yes, very expensive. Part of our tour was to go to Positano, but after Amalfi, we just went back to Sorrento. We couldn't deal with any more crowds. If you get a chance, Sorrento, is amazing to visit and stay, and much cheaper than the other two cities. Unfortunately we didn't get to Pompei, but definitely on our bucket list!

Wow! Nancy and Mike, I am so envious of you that you actually got the tour Pompeii. I had seen pictures of the plaster castings of the people in Pompeii, but I had no idea that that was way back in 79 A.D. when Mount Bubas erupted. I really wish I could go to the multi coast and tour Pompeii myself, but that’s not in the cards. So I will just have to live vicariously through both of you.
Thank you so much for another great video.

We have just come back from Ravello (last week of September). Not too crowded there but Amalfi and Positano still really crowded. Very expensive also. A beautiful area but I think you have to go at very beginning of end of season.

I've visited Pompeii and Herculaneum and agree they are incredible and very hot.I found that the casts of those poor people in their last moments so full of pathos, that like other remains, perhaps they should not be on public display.

Curious as to the statue at the end of your video….going back to the port. It looks like a woman with a large pile of clothing???

    • @livingphase2
      @livingphase2  21 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

Yes, it was. The statue was a critique on consumerism.
