    Thanks, Norman - you just saved my bacon in a big way. The pattern I am working has a picot bind off but the instructions were so confusing that I decided to knit a swatch to see if I could decipher them, to no avail. Then it occurred to me that maybe you had a tutorial on this, and as usual, you came through. I got it right on the first try and it looks exactly as I need it to. Thank you, thank, you thank you!

    Thank you for the great tips and explanation - I was always struggling with the gaps between the individual picots - solved now :D You have encouraged me to think even about more combinations of the picot pattern. The lesson is very clear and just great :)

    Thank you Norman. Really love your videos how you explain the basic technique but then go deep to explain applications and variations as well. I really appreciate you providing the 15-16 times yarn ratio to use as a guide. Maths for the win ;)

    I am an experienced knitter and today because of tendonitis in both wrists I thought i'd look at some videos for tips to help with my latest project. Your video was absolutely the MOST informative of all!! Clear, concise with no extra chit chat, which I LOVE! I have definitely subscribed. I especially liked that you talked about the amount of yarn a picot edge would take. THANK YOU!

      Hey Jacqueline. So very happy to hear that. I am not the biggest fan of said chit-chat myself *grin* And yeah, my goal with this channel is kind of providing knitters with information beyond the normal info that is regurgitated all over the internet.

    Thank you so much for all your great videos, one can really see that you put a lot of effort and love into them and your explanations are easy to follow. You probably have already lots of ideas for next videos, but if you need inspiration, I struggle a bit with the following topics:
    - In a project where two strands (or more) are knitted together and I want to substitute the wool given by the pattern: How can I estimate which combinations would work? For example the pattern is asking for merino + silk mohair and I would like to have something without silk. And how to pick the right colors for working with more than one strand when one can only order wool online? :D
    - How to hold the yarn in double knitting?
    - How to create an own pattern or which skills needs to be build up to be able to do it?
    I hope this would be also interesting for other people in your audience :)

      @NimbleNeedles  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Happy to hear you like my videos and way of explanations. And those are some great topic suggestions. Can't promise you how soon I can talk about it, but I'll definitely put it on my list 😊😊❤

    Thank you for addressing the "will I have enough yarn?" question at the end. This is such crucial information at the end of a project!!! And I always have the "OMG, I am going to run out of yarn!" panic, which is my excuse to buy more yarn...
    So, when you said 15 or 16 X of the length of the edge you are binding for a 2 stitch picot bind off, if I am doing a 3 stitch picot, then do I increase that to 24 X??? (8X per extra stitch?)

    • @NimbleNeedles
      @NimbleNeedles  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      well...i am not sure that is correct. So what I did there was knit a couple of swatches, unravel, and measure things. So..i would be kind of hesitant to say 24 is correct. Not sure it scales like that. Would have to knit a swatch (and as you might now I am currently a bit too busy with the new appartment to have time for that)
