Not only was this an extremely informative video, it was highly entertaining in that it showed the fishing experience of the common folk. Too early of a hook set, snagged lure, lost lure. It's nice to see something that looks like my typical outing.
It's always a bummer to lose lures, however, it's nice to see the realism bank fishermen deal with. Tips are very helpful, waters here in Northern Illinois are cold. Last temp check was 36 degrees. I have all that's needed to drop shot never tried it so it's going to be my first time here soon.
Gods creation that lives below the surface is just as awesome as what lives above it, except for the wood and rocks that snag our lures. Glad to know we all have days like that sometimes. Keep up the great videos man, I enjoy learning from em!
Tyler, update since my last comment on your other video. So I went 3 weeks with no bites, ended up tossing lake fishing to the side and went pond fishing. Now I catch bass every other cast for the last couple days. Its like I'm being blessed by the fishing gods right now, and it makes up for the dry season. Appreciate all the insight, kinda crazy how I knew so little about the techniques behind fishing and all it took was watching your videos to fully understand it. Hope to see you in IN one day so we can hit the water together!
I think this is an awesome video. One I am a bank fisherman so this definitely helps a lot and two it shows how realistic fishing can be. Its not always catch after catch like a lot of videos are. Sometimes you lose lures. Sometimes you get snagged. Things happen and this shows that it can happen to anyone. Love the videos Tyler keep up the good work and tight lines!!!
@@TylersReelFishingYou are welcome I watch your videos all of the time. All great info that you provide I have learned a lot and I have only been watching for a short time. Thank You again!!
Quick tip, when using jerk baits to help avoid snags cut the leading hook point off the treble hooks or switch them out with a small straight shank worm hook with hook points faced away from line tie. If you can't catch it with 4 hooks, 6 hooks wouldn't change outcome. Your description of the jerk retrieval was spot on. Putting the emphasis on "pause" is key. Tight lines!
Hey Tyler, another Tyler here! I’m, however, a little older. You remind me of my college days at Auburn. Anyway, I’m new to fishing....like 1 week! I’m watching your vids, especially the bank fishing ones. I’m learning alot and really enjoy your humor and authenticity. New subscriber.

Are you kidding me?!? I watched this video, I went to the store and bought my first jerkbait, I go to the lake and catch myself a decent smallie?? Not only that, but it was the only presentation that I got a bite on! TylersReelFishing 🙌
Definitely using those when I go out again because the water here in Louisiana has been pretty cold. Good conent. Those were some solid looking fish Thanks man
I've had those days where it feels like no matter what you tie on you're going to lose it. One day I lost like 5 lures in an hour. Snags and break offs at the reel. It sucks but you just keep your head up and keep going. Gets expensive tho 😭
it's nice to see real bank fishing, getting snagged broken off, multiple times, that's realistic at least at my ponds. lol thanks for that! nice catches though. great tips to take to the pond this winter.
I am not happy you lost your lures....i think things like that get you closer to us bank fishing dudes.....reality.....thanks for the tips and for your time Tyler.....very much appreciated!!!!!

Omg dude ive had those days. Lost jackhammer after jackhammer go to the truck for more then cast out and snap! Byebye lure #85. Atleast your catchin fish!!
Always love your videos and the techniques that you teach! I have learned a lot from you! In the past month I have caught a ton of bass and broke my PB twice with a 6.9 and then 7.9 pound largemouth bass! Do you ever wacky rig a drop shot?
My pond stays supper muddy. And I can’t get on any good days I need numbers cause everytime we catch numbers for every 13 fish you usually catch or loose one over 7 what do you recommend throwing it’s very bland pond very little structure and grass so do you think those real big Ned rigs would work

Most of my outings probably look like yours, I’m just very good at editing haha
Yessss
This is great
I appreciate that you show your struggles as well. Makes me feel not as bad when I have those days
Gotta show it all!
I felt the pain when you went through all the trouble to redo your lures just to cast off your jerkbait first cast 😂 totally felt that pain
MORE POND VIDS PLEASEEEE TYLER!!!!!
Yeeee I will
Good choices. Might I add the Ned Rig, slowly hopped or dead sticked on the bottom. Great cool water technique.
Just wouldn’t work as well in all this grass
I liked that you showed the bad luck also. Funny stuff
Got to!

Fishing in Illinois has been brutal. Haven’t caught anything in a month
yep thats why i have a hard time buying expensive lures

I try to mix it up to empathize with all audiences
It is truly appreciated. God bless you
