    Hello and God bless. My family is seriously looking into SA becoming our next home. My hubby is going out in November to do a home tour with The Real SA. We have also started the visa process but takin it slow to allow time for their new system to streamline. Now that you are feet on the ground, can you talk about some things I am having a hard time learning about? Specifically health care (ie quality of hospitals/treatment, ease of access to regular/routine svs., payment/insurance). Police/ fire fighters/ first responders (how to contact and their response rate/time). Church ( I know your family is Muslim. We are Christian. I never see the AAs in Africa address this. Until we gain citizenship, do we have rights there? After citizenship (we will keep our USA also) will we have equal rights? How are taxes decided and paid? Any of these everyday things that I would normally pick access without even thinking about it. Thank you and God bless.

      South Africa has mixed health care system. Free health care provided by the government which is run by public sector. We used to look down on it because it's free and there are long queues and poor service however Covid changed that. Best care was in public hospitals compared to the private sector.
      Now the Private Sector. It's fully through Medical Aid system paying a plan. For instance I pay R3050 for a full comprehensive coverage for any kind of illness, emergency and medical need. I also get medical savings with it for day to day needs, etc. Eyes, dental care, therapist for psychological needs, blood tests, scans, for women gynecological needs and family planning. All thar. Because US dollars is
      strong. You are looking at paying $500 per month for a family of 5. The hospitals are extraordinary. Monarchs from Europe and everywhere come seek health care here. So it's the best.
      My number 1 is Discovery and followed by CAMAF . Currently I'm on CAMAF which is for accounting firms. I work for Deloitte.
      They are the best for me. You have momentum, medhealth etc. They are many.
      Having Medical aid is a great deal in South Africa.
      The other plus is education for your kids. There best schools in Private schooling at much cheaper rates with best education in the world.
      South africa is also a more liberal country we frown at conservative leaning people who are anti this or that. We don't do that here. Live your best life as you wish.
      We are big on family and family life. You don't have a situation where one has to work 3 jobs in order to survive a middle class life. Once you hit middle class 1 job, 8 to 5 is enough. Entrepreneurship is even encouraged. There are opportunities to do forestry, export wines to US and Timber. big money. We need capital actually.

Health care is sorted we have top hospitals here, we have Law enforcement, police, traffic officials, Neighborhood watches which you could join if you're interested, Top notch fire fighter's. Basically in Africa South Africa is a first world country.

    Peace brother. I think you need to also add advising people to consider the effect they have on the price inflation. When real estate bubbles are created it is harmful to the resident population and bleeds into compounding the poverty they experience.

    • @samshongwe
      @samshongwe ปีที่แล้ว +18

      In my experience that is not the case.
      It’s a complex and dynamic situation. I’ll break it down like this: due to the socioeconomic climate in SA, the lower income individuals in the labor market feel squeezed out by unskilled labor from culturally dissimilar African nations who undercut their wage floor.
      In addition to that, the undocumented unskilled non domestic laborers are felt to be more prone to engaging in antisocial behaviors due to their need for survival, and unfortunately the lack of policing can lead to some communities perceiving the inaction requires more vocal pushback.
      It’s a very niche phenomenon. Not very widespread.

    Always amazed at how Mark completely glosses over the contributions of the other people in SA. You would think that SA was this beautiful, economically, technologically advanced society and that the settlers just dropped in at the V&A Waterfront and just took over 🤣🤣🤣 come on Mark. All human life began in Africa ( sorry I don't buy that 6 day God creation story) and thus we all belong here.
