While doing nadi shodhan pranayama, ratio is 4:2:4:2, with 5 as base rate ratio will become 20:10:20:10. It means inhale from right nostril, hold till count of 20, exhale from left nostril, hold outside till 10, then inhale from left nostril, hold till 20, exhale from right nostril and hold outside till 10. This is correct way of doing it. After certain practice you can increase base rate to say 6, then ratio becomes 24:12:24:12. Then with practice you can again increase base rate and ratio.
