Havent heard this song in 46 years and man oh man is it as good as it was then, better in some ways. wow. Aimless Lady and Foot stompin music are STILL two of My Favorites By GFR !! Rock on Fella;s you were the best!!
Exactly brothers...they never suck dicks of bullshit and liars....they were ripped off...when they were very young and never did the bad way like other band
Grande.
A unique and haunting song. My favorite. We sure had some uniquely talented musicians back then didn't we? A Musical Renaissance. The pics are GORGEOUS!! All the dudes were so good looking. Totally excellent!!
This is one of those psychedelic-type songs but mellow and everything about the video is so well coordinated with the music and lyrics. We had "Survival" on cassette but now its a CD. Always loved Grand Funk Railroad!!
Have to experience this rare and haunting song every now and then; and I could look at those guys for hours. They were hottttttttttt!! This band epitomizes the dominant paradigm of the mid 60's to late 70's and whenever I listen to or see Grand Funk, I am reminded of all of the mind numbing crimes from Charles Manson to the assassination of JFK Nov 22, 1963 as well as the good times and the enormous freedom we experienced for more than half of our lives.
so well put!! nailed it.They were gorgeous werent they, especially MARK i could look at endless pictures of him.I love the footage of him riding that horse! They DO epitomise the 70s,my most dear decade when i grew up.This track sends me back to those days. i am relatively new to GFR as for some reason, unfathomable to me they did not get the exposure in the UK.I am catching up now!! My dream is to fly to MI and see Mark play with his band,be even more surreal to see the 3 of em back on stage together where they belong!!!
Tengo la Survival on Cassette, 8 track, and CD. Mi esposo e mi loved to listen to this. The photos are muchas linda y goes so well with the songs. I obviously don't know much Spanish but again, Muchas gracias para usted!! !
Too bad they couldn't keep it together longer. They split. Got back together. Split again. Mark was solo for a long time. Then they got together again in the 90s, then Brewer got Mark out of the band permanently. But Mark kept on going and is still going to this day. The other guys got 3 more guys from other bands and tour. But it's just not the same. But I'm glad I saw them together a couple of times and still love the songs. The magic is gone, but the memories live on. Maybe one day they'll be inducted into the R and R Hall of Fame. Better hurry. Everyone is getting old and time is running out.
Actually, there's MORE to this tune than most realized. Mark was coming to a CROSS-roads in his life. He was "Feeling" the presence of GOD in his life. He could SEE all the turmoil in the world---but he found the ANSWER!!!
I notice and some of the videos but they never show the organ player that much and the pictures are always them three what was wrong with the organ player this anybody know why he wasn't in any of the big photos like that thank you Mike
@@homercasas6726 Craig Frost didn`t join the band until the We`re an American Band album in 1973 although he did some work on the album before that one. All the organ work here is done by Mark.
Craig frost was an old friend of Marks i believe, they had played together in previous bands also craig was given an ultimatum( after cape cod debarcle where they were stranded with no money) by his girlfriend or wife to leave the band. He rejoined them later and i believe he was a superb addition to the lineup.Listen to him play on Black Liquorice,he was something!
Excelente banda!! excelente tema!!, gran recuerdo d juventud, gracias

Ain’t that the truth the band that sold out Shea stadium faster than the Beatles and that is a huge thing and they were so influential in the 70’s
