    I like that technique where the subject closes her eyes then opens up and smiles when the shot is to be taken. The subject’s expression becomes very natural and not forced. We get this awkwardness in the expression on grad, resumé or family portraits where the eyes just stare and the smile is unnatural.

    Thanks for the lesson Jiggie. Make more live photo day videos please. Whereby you start capturing as you arrive at a school, set up, preparation, shoot, etc till thee end.

    I love the practicality and to the point spirit of Jiggie, this channeled has helped me a lot with flash lighting and understanding light in general and o have more confidence and energy towards portrait which I was not keen about before.
    Salamat.

    Sir Jiggie, can you explain the technique of closing the eyes before smiling? Is it to relax the face?

    • @truthsayers8725
      @truthsayers8725 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      and to make sure you dont get them mid-blink

    • @JiggieAlejandrino
      @JiggieAlejandrino  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Relaxed mouth and eyes giving a more natural smile, plus it lessens the possibility of blinking when the flash fires

    Thanks for this very helpful video, as usual. I would like to know how do you establish the power setting for each speed-light based on your setting on the camera?

    congrats to you, your wife and, of course, your daughter. it is always good to celebrate the good. i also have a small home studio where i do portraits and head shots. i am thinking about employing a strip box in the same manner you have demonstrated. i had been using a speedlight set-up in one corner but often get hot spots, especially on balding older men. i was hoping the strip box would lessen the hot spot and broaden the light to illuminate the shoulders. thoughts on strip light vs speedlight as a hairlight? thanks for the effort and the sharing. i am an appreciative subscriber. thumbs up.

    I've tried to take a picture in the mirror while the external flash is on. The flash fired off, but in the picture the flash seems to have no light at all?
