This Episode we are off to hike around lake Rotoiti in the Nelson Lakes National park, over night hiking to Cold water hut.
Perfect conditions for walking, swimming and soaking up the scenery.

The stars at night are unbelievable up there on a clear night. Lying on the jetty and experiencing awesomeness, in the true sense of the word, is an unforgettable experience.
Oh totally, very beautiful place for stars, and silence... would recommend this area to anyone loads of options for hiking to go further and into different valleys. Might be a few to many sand flies late January for the jetty at night though lol...

Hey Guys , I was at Cold Water Hut when you arrived , waiting for the water taxi back to St Arnauld after a few days camping up Travers Valley. The kids seemed a very enthusiastic bunch and obviously having a great time. Good on you for giving them the chance to enjoy the outdoors NZ has to offer. Regards SteveG

ha ha.. I think many people who watch think I am insane doing this lol... Just giving our family a good life a mate lots of hard works gone on behind the scenes to get to this point.
Your kids are having the BEST education in New Zealand, my kids did similar, a long time ago now, they in their 30s and are doing well!
Yea mate it's so good for them... it's so noticeable how much devices influence young ppl these days. Our kids are so content playing outside
Absolutely love the Nelson Lakes area, so good having the place almost to yourselves. Those kids are keen as with the mountain water fall swimming. I bet you enjoyed the slower pace scenic walk around the lake as a family after having run it
cheers Garth, I def enjoyed running it lol, I like keeping the pace up, but nice to do things like this as a family. Jade absolutley loved it so thats perfect. I love that the kids are so into the swimming, true outdoor kiwi kids. Missing the South Island I think it has better weather.......

I remember sailing up the lake and mooring at that jetty. Later we transported some hikers across the lake.
what a cool place to sail... We really like this area, loved it when we returned in June this year.

Was such a cool hike, kids loved it, parents loved it, so many beautiful things to see and do, Always miss our bed in the caravan though.
Great to get another video from the Leopardsgowild adventure. We are finishing our two week holiday at Saint Arnaud to catch the Antique and Classic Boat Show on Saturday and Sunday. Lovely spot you were staying at.
Awesome mate, 2 weeks at St Arnaud, you'd know the place like the back of your hand. Some incredible hiking options in the area for multi day walks. Enjoy the boat show.

What an amazing experience for your family, you must have seen a lot of the south island
We've seen a lot of the South Island, lots of places still missed though, We'll head down again in the winter and I imagine we'll be pretty keen to get to a bunch of new places we've not yet been to. So much to see and do down there. North Island is also pretty epic.
So cool guys, awesome adventure tramping in the hills then done up to the nines with Art Deco you’ll have well rounded kids well done!
yea travel is our goal so we're never in a spot normally longer than a week. Now we're in Northland, so it's gonna be a big jump in the videos.... Are you guys producing anything with your artdeco footage?
Northland is pretty cool I have filmed a lot of fishing shows up there and lived in Paihia for a while great spots. Normally we edit the Art Deco festival but this year the deco trust are going to do it.

enjoy, it's a pretty easy walk, me and a friend jogged the whole circuit in under 4 hours a few weeks earlier.

Keeping the rock throwing alive since ages ago... Those triangles are the markers so you know your on track... Orange is the course marker, sometimes you may see other colour triangles, but they generally are for animal trapping lines, like possums and ferrets ets.

Hey guys. Been out of touch for a while. I have lots of videos to catch up on! I went to Nelson Lakes with the school tramping club in I think Dec 1976. I have vague memories of staying at Coldwater Hut, or it may have been Lakehead. We were about 8 days tramping in the park. The mounta8ns are as stunning as Inremember them.
Hey Owen, missed your regular comments, assumed you were either busy with work or busy with the boat... How are things going for you over the past few months.
@@leopardsgowild a few changes. Work is ramping up. We started packing fruit last week so I should be neck on nightshift soon. I have decided to work the next two years at MPAC, but couldn't bear the thought of another season trying to sleep in the marina during the day. So I've moved off the boat and gone boarding with my Aunt to help her pay her rent. Much quieter!
good for you mate, glad you got some options which is always nice. back on the night shift, how do you find working over night? Soph is working a few days a week oin night shift these days on line, helpping to cover our costs, she seems to enjoy it mostly.

oh, looks like that hut is first in first served @@leopardsgowild - maybe you could mention that in the video?
You do know you can eat the sandflies back right as soon as they land on you, grab them, squash them it doesn't matter and then you can eat them.. it seems they want to be eaten any way as you'll often find them floating in a drink or on your food... More helpful tips from the Leopards
