Look how Ewing changed his game up after that first block. Slower on his shots, fakes his jumps, fades further back. Great reading of Olajuwon. One of the GOATs.

I'm a huge fan of Hakeem Olajuwon and the Houston Rockets. I was delighted to see Houston win, but there is no doubt that Patrick Ewing was also one of the all time great centers. The clash of the gladiators! Take the 3 point shot away, and bring back the true big men!

Rockets fan here. I thought Ewing was going to make that critical shot. But he missed that lay up.... Thank god 😂 he was a great player. Much like olajuwon, didn't have much help, no true all stars. I mean oakley was ok, and harper amd starks were good, but Ewing and olajuwon had no help this particular year. Beast centers. This is why I place Dream as the best center of all time. It's true he only has 2 championships compared to the room full of trophies guys like Kareem and Russell have, but Dream did not have a monster dynasty team full of stars, and look at the defenders he was playing against while putting on these absurd championship runs in the mid 90s. Look up the best defenders of all time and you'll find several of the guys he was obliterating like they were college freshman. Ewing, Oakley, D. Robinson, Rodman...that is unreal to tear through the defense of the 90s Spurs and Knicks like that. And to finish off his second title, he swept Shaq and Penny right out of the Finals 4-0. Accumulating multiple championships is of course an extraordinary accomplishment, but also consider that Dream's teammate Horry has 7 titles versus Dream's 2, and Horry wouldn't hesitate Dream is one of the best to ever play the game, rating him well above even guys like Duncan.
