The fact that you have to do all of this just because of how incompetent meta is to make a working quest link system is so ridiculous. I paid 300+ dollars for this headset and I need to use a BYPASS just to use it with my PC
Exactly 💯, my next headset wouldn't be oculus if they can't make things simple. Setting up meta accounts alone is difficult as hell.

The amount of issues I've had with this quest I'm actually thinking of selling it and just getting a rift
I did the first few steps and turned dev mode off and on, it worked after that but I'm not sure if the first steps were necessary or if i could have just restarted the developer mode, this was very helpful none the less

what do i do with the drivers cause its just files and nothing to install
Any suggestions on a new headset? The Quest 2 was actually okay for a while until the updates seemingly messed everything up. Mine was actually working fine connected to my PC earlier this year in January. Took a few months off of VR only to come back to nothing working despite troubleshooting. I bought it for $200 back in 2022 and got over 1,300 hours of gameplay out of it, so I guess I got my moneys worth.
Okay so apparently after running all these different troubleshoot options, the one that fixed my issue in the end was UNPLUGGING THE LINK CABLE FROM MY COMPUTER AND PLUGGING IT BACK IN... I have no idea why that would have changed anything but, it worked so... I guess I'll keep using my Quest 2!

@@that1kid_chris mb i didnt see u reply and for my issue i found that it was the newest Nvidia driver for the geforce app that broke it so i just moved it back like 2 updates and everything worked great

It's currently broken, completely. META has fucked up, it doesn't want to show the option to enable USB Connection Dialog.
Even if you've become a developer and after you've enabled all those settings, it no longer shows up.

I tried this, I tried new cables, I tried different ports, I’ve reinstalled the link app, I’ve reinstalled drivers, I’ve cleaned everything and nothing works, I’m in link and it randomly crashes and now it crashed the second I connect 😢

My issue is that it connected sometimes but it would kick me off after a while and my steam vr would still run and so does vrchat. My headset keeps telling me the latest update but before I can read it all it would remove the notifications quickly and when I would retry to connect into the quest link it would just load and load and I would have to keep plugging and unplugging until it works again sometimes it just doesn’t want to work and I have to get off.

That's way too long, have you ever been able to connect it to the pc before it stopped? Or you have never been able to connect it to your PC before?
1. Download oculus software on your pc.
2. Make sure you have a recommended cable for the connection.

Unfortunately, I've not experienced that before, if you don't mind loosing your Standalone games, why not doing factory reset? Maybe that would help

I updated my quest 3 software from within the headset (in the settings) and it worked!
I’m still having trouble. So the get started disappears so I guess I don’t need to do anything. Anyways I turned on the developer and I still can’t click the launch button

I downloaded the ADB drivers, but there was no install options inside the folder? I'm having trouble connecting my Quest via direct wire link, i bought a KIWI design link cable but on Quest Link it never finds my PC to connect.

It should work with any type c cable, the difference will be the bandwidth, if the cable is good, you will get about 2.5 Gbps and if the cable is not, then you will get around 300mbps which means you will not get quality.

Wow quest 3 is having same issue? Hmmm, it's been so long that I haven't used my quest 2,so I have no idea about what's going on. If u have no stand alone games on ur quest,then I think doing factory reset may solve the issue.

Unfortunately, I don't know any other solution. If not for the fact that u may be having standalone games installed on the vr, Factory reset may fix the issue

@@beatythomasthis thing is such a pos. After two days I got it working with link cable. Airlink worked but the resolution was poor. Bought the $80 cable and it connected once in game. Changed a graphics setting and rebooted it now it doesnt connect to pc at all. Airlink or cable link. The thing that made it work for me the first time was in the occulus program under the beta tab. It was the playtest option. I unchecked it and it reinstalled the normal software and it worked. I tried enabling it again since it stopped working and then disabling, it downloaded the original software again but it still doesnt work. Looks like Im returning it tomorrow. What a pos this is.
