In this video Heimler walks you through another required document for the AP Government curriculum, namely, Federalist 70 written by Alexander Hamilton.
In this essay from the Federalist Papers, Hamilton argues for the need of a single president in the executive branch. The Anti-Federalists feared a single executive would lead to a monarchy-like abuse of executive power, but Hamilton argued that any more than one executive would cancel all the benefits of executive power without any corresponding upside.
Your videos are consistently clear, informative, and engaging without trying (and failing) to come off as "cool" to teenagers. My students give you an "A" rating, and their vote counts more than mine does!
justifying a single executive:
1) need a strong (energitic) executive
- need a strong executive to counteract messy legislative
- unity + responsibility (one guy can keep secrets and be efficient when carrying out laws)
2) a single executive puts all the responsibility on one person
- people know what to blame when something goes from

Federalist 70, a document written by Alexander Hamilton. The document focuses on justifying the need for a single executive or president during the ratification debates of the Constitution. Hamilton argues that a single executive is the best arrangement for a republic of freedom because it allows for energy, unity, and responsibility in the executive branch. He explains that a single executive can act quickly and decisively, unlike a legislative branch that requires debate and compromise. Hamilton also argues that multiple

Thanks a lot for putting these AP gov topics. I understand them so much better now.
GOD loves you and only Jesus saves.
A strong corrupt executive we hope can be replaced at the next election. This is what we have, or had, now. Project 2025 proposes increasing the Executive branch further, to the point of weakening the other 2 branches of government. That is fascism.
Based and Hamilton pilled
The "energy vs feeble" thing really helps explain the failures of Joe Biden.. lol
