It’s hard to not keep looking into lenses, they’re so fun haha I’ve been considering adding FDs, nikkors, or Mamiyas but the CZ have been perfect for everything - I just want to add a few lenses that have some more character.. I think? Lol
😩 GAS is a problem we all have. Getting better though. I had to sit down reevaluate what I need and the type of work I do. Now down to one body and lens, X-H2S and the 16-55mm F2.8. Had the 33 and still have the 56. Returned the 33 and plan on returning the 56. Yes I lose a fast primes but the work I do is so run and gun where the zoom is much more versatile. That may change lol but for now it simply makes more sense. Thanks for sharing!
Agree with you on this, I have a few collections myself: Zeiss ZE Classics Leica R Mamiya 645 DZOFilm Vespid Primes Canon RF Zooms & Primes Random ones like Sigma 18-35, Super Takumars, and Canon FD. Just finished the Leica set so done with investing!
@@CineDailies go for it bro, they can be had for decent prices on ebay if you set alerts. I finally finished with the 19mm which was hard to find at a good price. I hit the bullet and got one with some haze but I'm going to send them all for CLA so it should come back clean. Love your content always man, stay up!
@@CineDailies it's cracked me up!!!! Can I say that I appreciate you, your story and content bro. Trying to get into video, XH2S would be great but overkill for me, in the future for sure. I'm an xpro2 user, I and I want a weather resistant Fuji body for still and video. To make my own content. I would love if you could make a video on this - not ready for the XH2S then try this (XT3) how to get into video as a Fuji user and take advantage of second prices... Thoughts?
Great video! Awesome channel! I’m thinking about purchasing my first cine lens and string eyeballing the SLR Magic APO MicroPrime 25mm t/2.1. Have you ever used that lens?
I HAVE A L.A.S 😂. I’ve grown to enjoy lenses more than I do cameras. I like the various looks you can achieve with lenses from vintage to modern. I’m in favor of your decision to keep those lenses. You’ll have a vintage “Zeiss look” set and a modern DZO set. This video prompts me to consider my lenses. I’m have a Super Takumar Multi-coated set I’m mostly finished building (28, 35, 50 and 105). I should probably replace the 28mm for a 20 or 24 and replace the 105 with a 85. I also have the SLR Magic Apo MicroPrimes EF, 25 and 50. I want the 85. The 32 is on the wishlist. I do want some Zooms to help with our doc work, ideally a vintage (Tokina 25-70 or Nikkor ED 28-70) and a modern (Canon 24-70 version 1).
Quick question: did you sell your Zeiss Milvus ZF.2 that you used on your documentary film? I am asking you this as I got a Milvus 50 ZE and thinking to move to the Carl Zeiss MMJ ones. By the way, did you declick your Carl Zeiss ones?
LOL what are you assuming? I buy cheap, used or loan the gear I need. The only "new gear" I bought this year was the XH2S. Money is very much a concern. Plus, i repurpose the money I use when I sell gear.
Two months later: I have sellers remorse and I wish I just rented the lenses out instead.
Suffer
100% agree on keeping the Zeiss lenses
Facts my guy. I knew this day will come haha

Lol. All us video peeps feel this struggle. Stay strong, brother. Hope you find your road to recovery lol
Slow and steady haha
I relate to this. Sold a bunch of gear lately. Rather keep it to a small handful of lenses and work around it.

We need something like a camera Library. Where people can keep extra gear so other can borrow it
Share grid? Lol
@@CineDailies not for profit. Like a community resource, something similar to a maker-space
@@8lec_R that'll be a tough sell. Especially for gear accountability.
I recently purged all of my lenses outside of my Nikkor AIS set and Leica R zoom! 🎉
How are you doing now that you slimmed down your lens count?
@@boahandarrowsproductions4326
I’m a lot more focused.
@@EdmundElijah That's great to know. I'm considering doing similar.
This video is way too relatable 😂
Haha it's that time of year haha
I love looking at other people's kits as I don't have the room or the money to add to mine. lol :) Nice collection! - Bcpaul
What a nice problem to have! And that outtro... Pure gold.
Man, I just did a gear cleanse. Sold all the lenses and bodies I wasn't using and simplified my setup.
It's so refreshing

Definitely dealt with L.A.S before too, got rid of so many lenses but now I just want to buy more…
Ugh it's so tough to control haha especially cheap vintage lenses.
@@CineDailiesmy mentally seeing a lens for $50 or even $250 is like “it’s so cheap I gotta get it.”
Nice to see that GAS is not unique to the music space. Thoughts are with you
oh explain the GAS in the music space. I'm interested!
Love this! iPad recording and the zoom for audio? GAS lol!

Nice one ☝️ Good to hear your logic: commercial, narrative, TH-cam. Also downsizing & focusing my lens sets. Will DZOs be your commercial set?
Yeah the DZOFILM have mainly been the commercial set for the last 3 months. Very happy with them
Okay, I'm going to forget about the SLR Magic primes then. the iPad did good.
Unless you get the E mounts!
Man... You slipped right back into the G.A.S when you mentioned the Zeiss len.
Lol like for real
I love this kind of videos buddy! 👏🏻👍🏻🤓

Yes I have - the 25 is good but it has a slight green tint compared to the rest of the set - it's still a really good lens
