That drummer is a monster. Mark Knopfler is one of the All time great rock guitarists. All these guys are masters of the craft. Pure, raw, unbridled, perfect Rock and Roll at it's very finest. And your reactions are special. It's like you can watch the music bursting through you. I watch a lot of reactions, and there are only a select few who truly appreciate and understand what they are hearing. You're one of those. You've won a subscriber tonight.

If Mark Knopfler isn't on your list of top rock guitarists, I have to question either your criteria or your taste. Fast, clean, precise, rarely (if ever) a wasted note...and I just love how smoothly he turns those chordal corners.
One of the best live performances ever. They establish this mellow groove right away then play off that with these intense runs. Everyone is great, and Knopfler's sound on the guitar is totally unique, like hearing Miles Davis play trumpet, you know right away who it is. Wish there were more bands like that today.
Love Dire Straits & had their records. They are a great British rock band from the 70's-90's. Mark Knopfler is one of the best guitarists around. "Sultans Of Swing " is one of their most famous songs. But they have had so many hits including "Romeo & Juliet", "Private Investigations", "Twisting By The Pool", "Money For Nothing", "Walk Of Life", "Telegraph Road", "So Far Away", "Tunnel Of Love", "Brothers In Arms" etc. They don't have a bad song.
The song is basically about a bunch of guys getting drunk in a pub watching the live bands and having fun.
This live version is one of the greatest displays of how a band has mastered dynamics.
