Ive got a nice clash box set, huge pistols fan which i collect many items and seen them live on comeback tours, i do love the clash ive got a nice london calling teeshirt, and cds live and demo recordings, my ex boss was support act with cladh 1979 tour, they played leicester a fair few times great band amazing music love the clash❤.
Mick giving a bit of an Angus Young lookalike towards the end of Complete Control! Great stuff in general and The Clash I loved much more than than when they were releasing records like London Calling and Sandinista. To my ears, some bands improved from their early days like the Banshees and The Damned but I personally don't think The Clash did, I just think they mixed that many past musical styles they got a bit boring.
Interesting comment. Not sure that Mick would have cared about Angus' style. In my humble opinion their final album was not as passionate or genius as those preceding, however a couple of nuggets are legendary. The brilliance, vision and application of the Clash was, to me, and millions of other people, highly inspirational.
i love that it's joe doing those high notes in the intro to the outro lol
I even appreciate this band more after seeing this incredible video. Hard to believe this was 1977!
Bettery than the produced version in my opinion...nice and jangley

Q: They have said that you are a political band. Is that true?
A: They have said that, yes. That's true.
I couldn't possibly comment.
WAIT IS JOE WEARING PAUL´S SHIRT???????
ISNT ITTT
It was Vic Goddards tee shirt. Check out subway sect nobody's scared
Putain l'énergie de strummer et le génie de Jones....
4:39. Joe playing lead? What’s going on? Joe strummer more like Joe Picker!
Still learning how to be a band.
If the sound was better, in particular Joe's mic, they'd have blown that place to bits
Are the goddamn amps turned on?
Mick sounds shy at the beginning :((
Very shy! They were just young kids finding their way as a band - and hadn't much experience of interviews, especially not on TV.
Rock n roll
Feel better
I wonder if that singlet Joe is wearing would fly well today, it's quite graphic, me likey.
Fab :)
street politics...not, like, political parties
Blazing.
I like them better when they sounded like they were struggling to play.
like here, you mean!
Yeaah, early Clash ,no Elvis beatles or the Rolling Stones... In 1977
YUSS!!!
Why couldn't they play the record right.
Because they play the song, not the record? Or perhaps because they were just young kids and not highly skilled. Still learning their craft!
@@GazelyGaze better than the recor i say.
Si
CLÁSSICO
Not the best representation of the Clash.
Sound quality is awful. The French crew were probably more used to recording Charles A. and Johnny H. 🙂
Although there's not many filmed representations of the Clash in this early era at all!
TV syndicate complained they played too loud , it explains the tiny sound . All the story is explained in Philippe manoeuvre book " l'enfant du rock".
Seizure warning!
Sorry clash😅 please no grammer nazi.clash simply are amazing.
The guitar sounds like two fleas farting in a tin can
Indeed. But they were still learning, and in a TV studio environment that had no comprehension.
Congratulations, worst sound quality of all time
