@@SpecialInMyOwnWayBedrock has a lot of modding capability now. It has scripting through the beta APIs, custom shaders through the deferred renderer (currently in beta) and custom UI through beta APIs and json-ui. That’s why bedrock servers right now are so much more advanced then Java counterparts (mainly galaxite and hive) with custom UIs and such.
And, these are all in the base game, meaning no software is necessary. Additionally it all runs super smooth, thanks to the fact that the game was built well from the ground up, versus Java which likely has a tonnn of legacy code.

@@ncitlagi4953 Actually the whole point is that it is. Turn down your render distance to like 4 chunks or less and run distance horizons at 32 or 64 chunks.

It seriously is, imagine how modpacks will change. Minecraft could transform into something lightyears removed from what it was originally envisioned to be. If you think about it, every mod, texture pack, map, video and moment spent playing minecraft, inspired all these creators to go above and beyond. This is the culmination of all of their efforts and as time goes by, it will only get more stable and preformant enabling more and more people to experience minecraft in any way that they want. All we need is for shaderpack creators to catch up and add compatability while the DH and Iris continue to improve preformance. The DH mod and Iris compatability act as a sort of limit breaker for the community. In some sense, the work of all mappers, world gen modders and datapack creators can now be showcased in the way it should be allowing people to appreciate the work in its entirety. As time goes by, I can forsee the physics mod and immersive portals being used in conjuction to make it extra realistic. Meanwhile the nvidium mod boosting preformance even further on top of Sodium as new AMD GPU's are finally getting mesh shaders. Maybe all this sounds like mumbo jumbo to you but to me this is a landmark in Minecrafts history and its only looking good from here on out.

...it's a shader and a "shortcut" to get huge render distances without nuking your PC.
Modpacks are 100% going to be more or less the exact same, looks dont really affect the gameplay :V

MAYBE the Physics mod? Although i feel the extent of use isnt going to be super wide.
Immersive Portals is just, again, something graphically pretty, it doesnt do much aside from load and render the other side (which, there's kind of Chunkloaders already if you want to load it).

Showcasing maps/world gen? Yeah definitely, but not really modpack changing again.

That'd be if we get a good mod loader that's actually good and everyone agrees to use collectively, or some mod as big/bigger than Create drops, or a "Bukkit" happens again :V
@@higueraft571 By modpacks changing I meant, those modpacks which utilize rpg elements and world gen mods mainly. Having something like yungs better dungeons, towns and towers, better x, amplified nether, incendium, nullscape and reterraforged would make world gen far more interesting with DH+Iris. Not to mention camera mods like Better Third Person, Camera Utils, Shoulder Surfing, First person and Camera overhaul would make it extra immersive. Combat wise I can only pray for a port of Epic fight mod to fabric but Bettrr Combat mod still works just fine. Then you got all your other standard feature mods, and PBR resourcepack for QOL changes and visual enhancements.
Not to mention the myriad of other optimization mods that are available.
Throw all of that together and you have one of the most visually impressive games that also just so happens to have an insane modding community. I believe if this mods gets enough attention itl become the defacto way to play the game.

Minecraft is not Minecraft because of Mojang or Microsoft, it is all the mod developers, server owners, content creators, and other community members that have put their passion into extending a voxel game made more than a decade ago.
