This is the finest rendition of this glorious and majestic music that I have ever heard. The Sinfonia is my favorite piece of music of all time. The performance here is just exquisite!
MrClaviers, different editions make it difficult for performers. In my score I read «Presto». But I also read that «Presto» is not to be found in the original score.
Amazing that Bach was relatively underappreciated in his day. But that's often how it goes with historical figures of genius--not recognized for it in their own day.
Ms. Mueller is a lady who sings this solo with authority. Same with Mr. Berchtold-- I wish I could be a tenor like him. Blessings to all of you in appreciation of your skills.
Was für eine unglaubliche Gelegenheit, wenn Sie all dieses "musikalische Ensemble" in Ihre Ohren stecken können, um religiös, friedlich, gesammelt in Ihrem eigenen Zuhause zuzuhören. Vielen Dank und einen schönen Tag +Bachstiftung
This performance is extraordinary! Hands down. I've heard so many performances of the piece over the years, many of them very good, even great. But this one, at least to me, is so wonderfully balanced and nuanced. I love the way the baroque brass instruments blend rather than overwhelm, particularly in the opening sinfonia, as so many performances do. What a pleasure to hear, and watch, this ensemble of singers and players. I know I will return to it many times in the future.
Oh, that makes me cry! When you've studied J.S. Bach with scholars like them you really do feel it in the gut! It's just great that this wonderful German singing & playing (or Swiss singing) was part of my life too. It makes me feel passionately European. I loved Bach so much when I sang it I just wanted to become a composer, not a singer. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I wanna know how it feels to write over 600 compositions by the end of my life. Just to know what it's like to actually be him. I didn't have it singing countertenor so much as with composition. I really feel it in the gut as a composer, but I had a girlfriend who was a Bach soloist. I studied Early Music in Wuppertal.
the tempo you have chosen to begin the sinfonia is terrific - you can really move and relax at the same time and the organist doesn't seem to be engaged in a speed contest with the orchestra. in so many recordings and performances of this piece either the organ, the orchestra or both end up taking an already-too-fast beginning tempo to something two notches faster by the end and all the conductor can do is flap his arms faster and faster to match the runaway ensemble. it's not a contest. furthermore the forces employed in the orchestra nicely work FOR the organ and not against it - also in many recordings the organ becomes lost by the end of the sinfonia, resulting too often in what i call the "I'M STILL HERE" final trill of the organ. excellent job.
Grazie infinite!!! 💗
This sinfonia is one of the miracles of the High Baroque period. It is not only a perpetuum mobile (which is common enough), but a true melody constituting one long phrase.
Oh merci! Quel réconfort pour un samedi matin français (our saturdays are a bit frightening in France!) de pouvoir s'imprégner d'une musique aussi haute!
A beautiful breezy Sunday afternoon, a cup of tea, ginger biscuits and this unbelievably inspiring divinely ordained praise from the incomparable Bach. Life here in Southport Queensland Australia could be better, but not this side of heaven.
Very stellar and moving, with strong "shades" of what more masterworks would come, by God's grace in creating one who would be faithful and grateful to the God he knew was the source of ALL that is right and perfect.
The thing I love about Bach the most is his organisational skill. I can't believe the amount of things achieved. He wrote more music than anyone else but that wasn't the only string to his bow or the only thing he did with his life. His life was perfect. He didn't have any regrets. He achieved what he set out to do in life. That's why I love him more than any other person. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. He's the ideal male role model for any scholar. He was the greatest musician of all time. He wasn't a joker but he did laugh. I like him for it over 1000 pieces of music, teacher, choirmaster, instrument designer, Tontechniker, 3 wives, 11 children & a legacy 2nd to Jesus Christ. I wanna be him!

Grazie. In this Thanksgiving day, it is God indeed to whom my praises go. What better food than this divinely inspired music! I choose it over any turkey. Many thanks to all the performers, Bach, the person who uploaded this video and those who commented for another reminder that we can reach much higher and more beautiful human places when we open our soul and spirit to the beauty that we have been given.
Very impressive indeed. What an incredible opportunity when you can put all this "musical ensemble" in your ears to listen, religiously, peacefully, collectedly, till your own home. Thanks to you and have a great day +Bachstiftung
Gut Konzert gemacht, gut gesangt. Alles richtig.
Great venue and acoustics, nice camera work, great choice of tempos. I would have liked to hear more of the harpsichord, but the cover was closed. Can't tell whether he had a coupler or 4-foot rank engaged. Would it have been a sacrilege to turbocharge that instrument just a bit?

Finally an ensemble that doesn't find it necessary to set a new world speed record with the opening Sinfonia!

Heavenly sounds.........the Glory of J.S.Bach and the Brilliant skills of the J.S.Bach Foundation.
I love the aria with tenor and violin: Bach is the master of musical dialogue.
Bach is the Master of everything. He's the Master and Lord of the Universe
@@andreamas2639 Agreed, and the contralto's solo with the beautiful organ accompaniment, moved me.
Bach = the voice of God and the music of the angels. 👍👍👍👏👏👏🙋
This music sounds always new!
....sehr schöne Aufführung: Gratulation an alle Mitwirkenden!
The Chorus really hits the spot for me, it is like Bach is speaking to me directly.

religiös? nur christlich wäre besser.

Playing, singing and dancing (the organ) it's the way how Bach praised his God! Halleluja!
Impecables orquesta, coro, solistas y director. Incomparable Bach. Siempre me conmueve profundamente.

Johann Sebastian Bach is a genius and a giant!
The expression of bliss in a deep soul
I wish one could give a thumbs up to the composer as well! Thanks for posting. Greetings from New Zealand.
Stunning/Sparkling as always from Bachstiftung. Danke.Greetings and best wishes from Ireland.
Splendide!
Astonishingly beautiful-thank you Bachstiftung.
The Sinfonia is absolutely unbelievable. Bach, peer to God. An out of this world being.

Responding here on a sultry September evening in downtown Manhattan, New York City, USA. Love for this divine music travels far!

A wonderful period setting, wonderfully rendered: thank you, Ladies and Gentlemen!
Beautiful performance on Aria at minute 7, Violin sounds excellent.
Exceptionally beautiful and well-paced performance, thank you.

As much as I love Bach, I would put St. Paul ahead of him.
A fitting work for a radiant summer day. Bravo to the musicians and kudos to Dr. Lutz for his persistent unraveling of the marvellous Bach cantatas
Wirklich grossartig!
Bravos, bravíssimo! 👏👏👏👏👏
Excelente.
Julia Sophie Wagner is GODDESS!!!!
Preciosa Sinfonía. Bravo organista
Magistral dirección. Voces deliciosas
Just glorious, thank you. I am only just awakening to your channel and can't wait to view all your offerings.

Thank you so much for this! Thanks for the subtitles. God bless you!

💗so wonderful. Thanks from Brazil
the Sinfonia of this cantata is identical with the violinpartita No. 3 in E-Major and this sounds really amazing!! :))
the Chorale's are always superbly beautiful, because here they are not soley a-cappella sung.
Danke.

Perfect weekend listening, masterfully interpreted by the great Rudi as always!
I think in these days J.S. Bach would settle down near the church of Trogen, so he would not miss any of Mr. Lutz performances of his cantatas
Perfectly said.
This version of the sinfonia is awful though. You can't even hear the violins.
Very impressive indeed.
What an incredible opportunity when you can put all this "musical ensemble" in your ears to listen, religiously, peacefully, collectedly, till your own home.
Thanks to you and have a great day +Bachstiftung
Sans oublier le Cœur toujours superbe!
Großartig! Danke!
Veel dank aan dit ensemble
Always loved how the great man recycled his material!
This is the original work, "recycled" in the Mass in B minor. Bach never used a church composition for a profane piece, only the other way.
Bravo!!!
Excellent soloists
Belleza.
So splendid. Many thanks.
Excelente!!! Gracias por este hermoso proyecto. Afectuoso saludo Desde México
Beautiful beginning of my Thanksgiving
Wow, amazing.
