      Not that hard for someone who regularly repairs phones. It's done all the time by repair technicians.
      Although the way he took the battery off is not great. The adhesive is new so it's not that strong but after a year or 2, taking a battery off like that will potentially damage the battery.

    This is cool. I definitely think this is the first iPhone 14 series teardown on the internet. You videos deserve more views than what you actually get.
    However, I want to point out that the satellite module you mentioned at 5:35 probably isn’t it. It should be a space filler for the SIM reader. That is the spot where the SIM would go for international models.
    As Apple instructs users to point the top end of the phone to the sky to access the satellite service, the satellite antenna must be in the top end of the phone, hidden amongst many other antenna.

      Thank you. Yes I believe you're correct.

  • @VladislavBaglai
    @VladislavBaglai 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Front camera does not have OIS. That wobbling is just an auto focus. Also, the “satellite module” is just a plastic placeholder of the sim holder (available in other countries). Anyway thanks for the video! You are the first to disassemble iPhone 14

    For which parts are the connectors that you remove at minute 4:27 and 4:29? I got water damage on my iPhone 14 Pro and Apple wouldn't even care to open it up. When I opened up, I can see that these two connectors look like the issue for my boot loop. Can I disconnect them and try to boot up the device? Thanks a lot in advance for your reply!

      Upon further inspection, there is a copper colored border in between the top and bottom layer so there might be a vapor chamber in between the sandwiched boards, but I don't want to damage the boards by prying them apart. We will know soon when some other in depth teardowns on the board itself pop up.

      First of all, thank you for a great video that is very well done and really "complete" for what any iPhone user will need in the future.
      I read that you often repeat the complaint about "too many screws" and "too much time". I don't understand.
      What would be the alternative?
      Above all: could you really use all the same screws? ... and then it's just a "complication" what Apple chose to give (and pay!) to whom do you have to assemble tens and tens of millions of units of that model (and oters)?

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're welcome. There are many other phone manufactures with many different models which use a fraction of the screws. If they can do it, I don't see why apple doesn't.

My phone is set differently though and has a 1/2 circle of protective tape covering mine? So unsure if they sell the flex band separate or do they want you to end up buying the whole bottom plate?
    I cannot turn off my phone or screenshot anything because that band is ripped clean through. Plus my flex band is covered over . So can I get that covering too along with the flex band.
    Any ideas on cost of these parts? You work on these phones often?

      I'm not too sure since I'm not extremely versed when it comes to each chip and how to look them up. Plus most of the important ones are sandwiched in between the boards not visible unless I pry open the boards.

    Does the new iphone have the rumoured “ vapor chamber thermal system “ for cooling ??

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Externally nothing that I saw, but it might be something which is sandwiched between the motherboards. I didn't want to pry and break the boards apart or render them useless so I didn't but it does have a copper color border in between the top and bottom layer of the board so it might be a possibility.
