Ramey RC has a You Tube Channel and has built several huge RC airliners including a 747 that Tyler Perry has bought from him and flies. He does a lot of carbon fiber construction and 3D printing for components on his airliners. Awesome you got a N number and will be neat to see this beautiful C-17 fly again ! Best Wishes 👍

Great series of videos. I remember watching the original build videos. You should get some video of the real tail number ZZ174. I saw it at Charleston AFB around 2006 while stationed there.

This is such a cool model. Ali who used to own the model has a shop in Milton Keynes called Als Hobbies. Its my local hobby shop. In one of their display cabinets is one of the original parachute dropable payloads in its pallet (its a little vehicle of some sort).I remember because I saw it on the original TV show when this was built.

Hello Lucas, greetings from uk, I recall watching this being built by Colin on the discovery programme”supermodels”. I can’t believe it was 20 year ago. I always wondered what happened to it after Ali’s ownership. I’ve built a couple of models with retracts made by Tony Goodger (same person who made the ones in your c17) and they are incredibly well engineered. My very best wishes on the project, you are dong fantastic work so far. Looking forward to further updates. Kind regards. Craig

Hello! Great project! Good Luck!...............Remember V= IR from high school? the lower the voltage the higher the amperage, therefore the 6V motor will be more powerful!!
my mind short circuits when i think that 2004 was 20 years ago when n reality it seems like 4 tops , amazing bird , if i had the funds i would assemble a team and build a 60 foot wing span Hercules H4

Whishing you the very best with getting it going. I know when it was in the UK, the CAA here certified the aircraft and the pilot as a unit and it had to complete a certain number of flights to get its permit to fly, I'm sure the FAA's process will be very similar. Just a suggestion but you might want to invite whoever is going to inspect this machine to come take a look and get familiar with you and it sooner rather than later. That way you can avoid reworking by including the things they want done in a certain way while you restore it, rather than finding out once its nearly done.

Correct radiotelephone pronunciation of the N number is “November Two Niner Five Lima Victoria” 😊
Since English is the international language of aviation, nine is pronounced niner so as not to confuse pilots with the German word nein or no.

The majority of the C17 is on this TH-cam Ch , however more videos will be coming here this fall , Lucas stated to get very busy at work and we stopped working on the C17 for the moment.
@flightsystemsrc copy that. I'm super excited to see the next video get posted. I'm one of those people that are just barely getting into the hobby with dreams of planes like this. LOL I'm able to fly out in my pasture as long as the 388 Fighter Wing is not flying. I live just south of HAFB . I have permission from the power to fly at my house with the small planes that I have since I don't fly very high. IC C-17 flying over my house a couple times a week. They are my favorite plane
Try swapping the motor from the 12 v to the gear train of the 6v.
