- MATERIALS LISTED BELOW! I Had Fun Making These Colorful Faux Glassware Items. Some Are Better Than Others But I Enjoyed Experimenting. It's The Same Technique I Used To Make The 'Glass' Carafes and Pitchers. It's Worth Practicing First To Get The Shape You Want (You Can See My Failures In The Video). Push The Plastic Straw Gently When Softening It And Please Make Sure You Work In A Well Ventilated Area! Hope You Enjoy This Video!
Materials Used:
Hot Glue Gun (Some Are Hotter Than Others)
Reusable Hard Plastic Drinking Straws
Aleene's Fast Grab Tacky Glue
Ranger Glossy Accents Clear Dimensional Medium
Grenn Stuff World Chrome Metal Antique Gold
Pebeo Transparent Outliner
Pebeo Gold Outliner
Pebeo Silver Outliner
Silver Chrome Markerpen
Sequins (You Can Use Any Material you Like For The Base)
Please REMEMBER To Work Under An Extractor Fan, Well Ventilated Room And / Or Wear A Respiratory Mask!
The extra accents really make these pieces spectacular.
Thank you very much!
Du bist so nett.
I also have difficulty, especially with the tiny things, and the more the details, the harder it is because I have tremors in my hands. Sometimes, I've had to give up because it's just physically impossible. Sometimes, one of my sisters will help me. Which I'm thankful for! But I'm not giving up all together! I enjoy making these things too much to just quit. 🙂
Have a blessed day. And Merry Christmas to you.

The first blue vase is really beautiful.
That one is my favorite too
@tinycraftlife ☺
I’m afraid I’d end up with second degree burns trying this! Props to you for creating these “glass” miniatures-they are so realistic and beautiful!
Thank you very much! It was a bit tricky to hold the plastic without burning myself.
I think my favorite was the short red one with the gold rim. That looks so much like real cranberry glass my aunt used to have! The imperfections make it even better, in ways, because it looks like real, mouth-blown glass. So pretty!
Thank you! The red worked so well. I'm tempted to make a few more of them for my dollhouse.
@ I think you should! They would look spectacular in a china cabinet, or on a holiday table. Some of the colors just worked better than others. The red was an excellent match for real red glass. The dark blue wasn’t quite as good a match for cobalt glass, but pretty good. I loved the turquoise bead you got that perfectly matched to make that pitcher! The green is good. However, the pink just isn’t the right color for most of the pink glass I’ve seen. All the pink Depression glass we have - in two households of inherited glassware from most of the 20th Century - is paler and a little more towards salmon. But that red is just spot on, and that’s why it looks SOOO GOOD. Now I am imagining a whole holiday table filled with cranberry glass and holiday greenery, some of your tiny “wax” candles, and some “silver” or “pewter” plates. Would be spectacular! Maybe a hurricane lamp with a red “glass” chimney, too? And some bottles of wine from the green. 😁 Once again I wish my aunt were still alive. She loved her dollhouses, and she would have adored your work. Thank you for sharing. 😄
@@DawnDavidson Some of the colors were too bright like neon colors. I wonder if I can find straws with different lighter colors. I doubt it though. I hope I get my dollhouse finished for next Christmas. Your idea of setting the holiday table set up with cranberry glass would look so lovely!!🤩 I definitely have to get my dollhouse repaired and redecorated ready for next holidays 😄
Those would make some pretty earrings as well or charms for a bracelet/necklace
These are amazing! And so are the carafes and pitchers. Briliant idea and superb execution!
...now I just need to find the right type of plastic straws...
I love this! You have such a great imagination. I like how you see the possibilities in everyday items!
Wonderful.
Thank you very much!
Very nice! I like the fluted pieces best.
Thank you! I do prefer them too
Thank you for these great ideas. I really enjoyed this tutorial.
They look like tiny Murano crystal vases 😍
Love from Spain 💃🏽
Beautiful music and birds singing.
Glad you like the music💕
Thanks for all the inspiration year 2024. Wishing you a happy holiday and a happy new year 2025. 😊💐
I haven't finished the video yet, but just wanted to say thank you so much for sharing such a wonderful diy miniatures idea! I never dreamed of using a heated glue gun tip for shaping plastic, but oh, wow! Your pieces are beautiful works of art! I'm wondering now if an old fashioned "glass" lamp shade could be made this way, too, and probably the lamp itself, using beads as you have! Thank you so much for sharing your talent and ideas!❤
As always, beautiful and brilliant! I have learned so much from your channel and my dolls are grateful 🤗😍🎄
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you and your dolls like them😊
Such a great technique 💕merry Christmas to you 🎄🎄🎄🎄
Thank you very much! Merry Christmas to you too!🎄
With the hot heat and the melting point of plastic, I'm intrigued by the fact that it's a recycling motif. Just be aware that you should be careful with your hands. Thanks for sharing💕💕💕
These are genuinely beautiful, you are so clever! I already burn myself accidentally with the glue gun far too much so I don't think I will be brave enough to attempt these. But I am more than happy to admire your work!
Thank you! I'm glad you like them. Surprisingly these didn't get that hot. I think it's because the plastic is quite thick. I do usually burn myself when using a glue gun😂
Wow! Gorgeous!!
Thank you very much!
Those are just so beautifully done.
Thank you!😊
Very clever idea :-) Thank you for sharing.
You are very welcome😊
Beautiful 😍 🤩
Thank you very much😊
Beautiful, the extra detailing made them look so elegant.
Thank you very much! Glad you like them
This is cool! Thank you for sharing! 🤗❤️🤗 They came out absolutely beautiful! ❤❤❤
Thank you! I'm glad you like them💕
@ you’re very welcome! They are awesome! 🤗❤️🤗
Such great ideals. They came out wonderful. And you used something
pretty much any crafter would have
Bravo!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
🌟🤰🚼🐑👼👑🐪🐪🐪🎁📯🎄🎆💕
Thank you very much!
Wonderful craftmanship!😍
Thank you very much!
Absolutely marvellous ❤
Thank you very much!
Uauuuuu....Maravilhosas peças!!!!
Muito obrigado!
So so pretty
Another great inspiration! Love your work ❤
Thank you so much😊
Son precioisas!! Muchas gracias
¡Gracias! Me alegro que te gusten
Just gorgeous. Thank you.
Thank you so much!
Fabelhaft😍 Die sind so unglaublich schön geworden👍❤
Vielen Dank! Ich freue mich, dass sie dir gefallen.
Beautiful, love these! ❤
Thank you so much!
Love these! You make it look so easy but mine didn’t turn out half ad good as yours. Keep up the great work dear
Thank you very much! Sorry it didn't turn out so well. I had to practice quite a bit before they ended up looking half decent. It might also depend on the glue gun. Some might not be hot enough. If you are going to try again, I hope they will turn out really good💕
Just stunning❤
Thank you very much!
They are to cute, and looking really like glas.
Now I need some of these tubes...😀😀😀
Thank you!😊I got a packet of these straws from Amazon. I'm sure they are sold on other websites too.
@tinycraftlife This is what I needed to know!
Wow! Love em
Thank you so much!
Genial trabajo 😊 😅
¡Muchas gracias!😊
Those are so pretty. I believe I may have a couple of those straws somewhere. Thanks
Glad you like them😊
Beautiful!! ❤ It was like I was watching you make blown glass. So Amazing!
I have a question does it put off a lot of strong smells?
Thank you!😊I was surprised that there were no strong smells or visible fumes but I did work under an extractor fan just in case as it is plastic.
@ I’m so glad to hear there weren’t many fumes. I am very sensitive to strong fumes. I will definitely try this under my kitchen vent with maybe even a fan facing me. 😄 Thanks again for sharing this beautiful project! 🥰
I am so glad you asked about smells/fumes, because I am also very sensitive to any chemical smell, such as burning plastic might have put off, and I have pet birds in the house. I am going to use an extension cord and sit on my little front porch when I try this, to protect my Cockatiel and Budgies. But it's great to know it won't be so bad on us! ❤
@ Oh my goodness yes please keep the birds safe! I used to have birds and had to be very careful. Birds are very sensitive to fumes. Even if we don’t smell them. You know that might be a good idea to do this on my balcony outside. I may even still have a fan facing me on low too.
What a great idea I do love them!❤
Thank you!😊Glad you like them
Wonderful! Thanks! Kathleen
Thank you Kathleen😊
Gah. This is genius. I don't have to mess with finding resin molds for glassware that doesn't exist now 🤯
Thank you so much for this video ❤ you have given me some ideas for making jasmine’s potion bottles❤ and Laura from tiny view also gave me some ideas when she made her bottles, I already made my own bottles in a different way, but then I saw your video and Laura’s video and I’m thinking maybe I can combine your two techniques somehow 🤔and make my bottles different. I’m still have to think about how I’m going to proceed combining both techniques😅 or maybe I’ll just keep the video that I made and use both of your techniques on something else😅 i’m confusing myself now I know😂 but I need to try something😬
You can try the different techniques and I like the idea of combining them. 😊 a lot of dceisions to make.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍👍👍👍💯💯💯
💕💕💕
You did a great job, I ❤ it! They look amazing. Where did you get these straws from? It's a hard plastic I assume.
Thank you!😊They are reusable hard plastic drinking straws. I got the packet from Amazon but I'm sure they are sold on other websites too.
I wonder if these could be made out of the barrels of BIC ink pens. Very nice! Your videos are great!
Thank you very much!😊I haven't tried this technique on BIC pens so I'm not sure if it would work.
I believe I've seen someone use those. I just can't remember who or exactly what and how.
Wonderful. What will you use them for?
Thank you so much! I will use some of them for my own dollhouse. The rest I might reuse in some ways. Not sure how yet.
😍🥰💫
Thank you😊
Гениально !!!!
Большое спасибо!😊
Thank you.
Beautiful. What scale are these please?
Could you use metal knitting needles to make the flair once you have the plastic hot?
I like your idea! It's worth trying. You might have to be fast though as the plastic does seem to harden quite guickly.
I made faux glass plates with plastic sheets and hot glue. The method is kinda same and after painting they looked like Revontulet bowl by Humppilan lasi.
That is a great idea! I really like that they look like glass.
Nice, but plastic straws are not allowed anymore in Germany.
Not even these reusable ones? Are you using paper, metal, silicone, or glass? I can certainly understand banning the disposable straws. There are way too many of those, and for no good reason. These heavy duty plastic ones are less pernicious, in my opinion, since they are designed to be reused for a long time. We have banned disposable plastic straws in the US State of California. I’m sure more places will start to come to the same conclusions. Though I will say that I’d rather see the heavy duty ones like these reused and repurposed like this, rather than just discarded. Where are they going to go, other than in the landfill?
I used reusable hard plastic straws to make these and I got mine from Amazon. Single used plastic straws are banned in a lot of countries but reusable and washable straws are allowed.
@tinycraftlife merci beaucoup
❤🍶❤🍹❤🍨❤🥂❤🍾
Thank you😊
@tinycraftlife 🥰😍
