So helpful ... and thank you for keeping it real and showing your own strengths and areas of challenge. This helps me be less critical and wanting to be pro active.
Excellent content. The American College of Sports Medicine has many "home" tests for VO2 Max. There used to be a step test - is that still used for tracking? As far as push ups go - I have a shoulder impingement issue and have never been able to do normal push ups. I too have small hands and I'm pretty sure my grip strenghth needs help.
I would love to have the VO2 Max test done in a lab but finding a lab is virtually impossible. Any tips on how to search for a lab in one's area? I'd also like to have a DEXA body fat test. My doctor wouldn't do one - they did my DEXA for bone density but they wouldn't tell me my body fat % (even though the test will show on the DEXA scan).
Thank you for all the great info! Regarding the stand-to-sit/sit -to-stand test, I've been trying to do this for the last few months. I can sit or stand using one hand for each. In other videos I've watched, they say using one hand or knee is minus one point each, but you said .5 point (based on 10 points). Of course, I'd love it to be .5 point, but is that correct? Sorry if I sound picky. Also, how does a person do this without using a hand or knee? I've watch so many videos where people just popped up off the floor like magic. 😂 You said you're working on it. Can you share any exercises you're doing for this specific test? I'm 68 and thought I was in good shape, but apparently that's not true! I can easily walk 3mph and 3.3 if I push myself a little. My hand grip is good. I lift weights and hang from my husband's pull up bar a few times a day - hoping to someday do an actual pull up. But those pushups, oh my gosh! I can barely do two full pushups. Thanks for showing the correct way to do a pushup. I had it all wrong. Thanks again! I love your channel. ♥
I use a Garmin- tracks all my swims - pool or lake, runs/walks outdoors or treadmill, and bikes - indoor or outdoor and if I'm doing a triathlon.. tracks that too. (Not that I am... but its there!)
Great videos! Thank you for your expertise and motivation!!! I am going to work on push ups and pull ups with help to get started.

Universities or running stores or multisport stores may be good connections- or triathlon clubs.. were the geeks who tend to test! Good luck.

What is the pace of mph? When i track a walk its by mph.
to do 3 mph - as suggested I think what you're asking is pace by minutes. That would be 60 divided by 3 = 20 minute mile. Helpful?
@@Flipping50TV very helpful. Thank you.
where to buy the gripper?
Amazon, of course!
What fitness watch are you wearing?
