  • Let's go back for part two of a history lesson in Serbia. This started out as an underground tour of Belgrade, but since the underground areas were closed, it morphed into an above ground history lesson walk. Our history teacher was very passionate and frank about what he was teaching us. Every person who experiences history has a viewpoint and an experience. I see that as valid and to be shared even if one will disagree with that point. I find it important to gather the stories and find the truth somewhere in the middle. I hope we can agree. Check it out! #belgrade #historySerbia #HeyVernTravels

Well said David! So much we weren't taught in school about life and different regions. I never knew why Belgrade was so important, until I stood at the banks of the rivers, then it spoke to me why it began in that place. I never knew how important to the people this place was till I listened to this guy. Was very cool to learn also.

Serbs are a very proud nation, the only independent state in Europe. Neither East nor West

Hello, sorry I lost his card. But I will mention how I found him. If you go to the libraary on the walking street in Belgrade near the fortress, inside is an information tour info department. If you email them via the library with a screen shot picture of the speaker they can connect you to him.

History teaches us that there are liars who want to change the perception of history and it teaches us who those liars always are!

There can always be different shades within any story, but yes I agree things are often changed for power..or even political advantage...Look at Egypt and the changes made to the written or covered up works. The defaced statues destroyed for whatever reasons...History always repeats it seems.

@@HeyVernTravels I lived in Egypt for a year and had 3 days off every week with a company van and unlimited benzene, dont get me started. It is a great example of how a country or city has completely changed because the people are not anything like the original inhabitants or the great structures they built. You can follow that all over the world..........or just go to Newark New Jersey.
