Yep, I just want Overwatch to be fun again like it used to be, or to have an actual alternative where I can just have fun and not have to play 30 min long games
I’m tired of the terrible half assed hero shooters that come out just for the sake of putting a game out there. But the few that actually are putting their heart and soul into it like Rivals and Deadlock, I’ll never get tired of those
Marval Rivals looks so fun. Im kinda burnt out on Overwatch at the moment not because it is bad but i reached my lifetime goal of GM. Ill put Overwatch down until they bring back 6vs6 and focus on other games for now. Valorant i I think is less of hero shooter but more like traditional fps with hero shooter coat in it. That is the main reason why I never could get into Valorant. Deadlock is very fun and I can see myself trying to play it more and more
I've said this before and I'll say It again when Marvel Rivals comes out on December 6th OW2 Is going to take a significant hit to there player base. I played the Beta and man It was a blast to test and the massive amount of characters that they can add to Marvel Rivals Is astonishing.
@@ciach0_ Not to mention the potential for things like making alternate class versions of the same characters. Don't want to play support Magneto? Here's Magneto from this universe and he has a dps kit. *slaps game* This bad boy can fit so many spidermans in it.
In regards to balancing, I feel like that's basically a money spinner for most companies. RIOT do it with LoL the new champions are always overpowered on release to get people to buy them and then they are adjusted to fit the actual balance. Blizzard used to do the same with WoW, they would buff or nerf various classes or abilities in order to get people to play new characters because they increases how much time they spend in game.
If you're planning on switching the games and want an objective-based hero shooter experience with an objective that changes in every match like OW, you'll definitely want to switch to Marvel Rivals without any discussion. Other hero shooters are not like Overwatch.
I am looking forward to Marvel Rivals. I know some of the characters as well as they look very fun to play and I am playing Fortnite Marvel season to be having fun with that. As for Overwatch 2, I couldn't play anymore once PvE was cancelled and blizzard lost my trust after that.
I got nothing but vibes to back this up, but i feel like Rivals is gonna be a flash in the pan. It'll probably end up biting a chunk out of OWs playerbase but after a while, some will return and some go into other games. Rivals is just too mobile-y, too unserious for long-time traction. Deadlock will have some actual legs, i think. It has a distinct enough personality, the backing of a huge and trusted company and has competitive viability which i feel is key in both mobas and hero shooters. It doesn't scratch that same itch that OW does, but it is a worthy competitor.
Deadlock is a 3rd person MOBA like Smite, not a hero shooter. I've played about 13 hours and I've applied more of my LoL knowledge than my OW knowledge to win. In all honesty its just a modge-podge of abilities that already exist on other champs in other MOBAs thrown into a third person shooter perspective. People who enjoyed the GOATS meta in OW might like Deadlock because fights last really long and stuns/abilities are more important than aim and positioning. I def see a market for it, but not from hero shooter players.
@@Circurose I feel you. Farming is my least fav part of MOBAs so Deadlock did not scratch any itches for me (jungle and support are my roles and it has neither as a true "role" so far)
I can tell right now, 1 to 2 years from now, Marvel Rivals could end up having the reception as later years Overwatch, players infuriated with a lot of the abilities in the game, and the balance not always being in their favor. It's always that when it comes to competitive hero shooters it's such fun to watch and observe over time.
Hero shooter has become way too much of a generic term. Like, I can't possibly see Valorant and Deadlock as the same genre of game. The only similar aspects are that they're both shooters and have different characters. It's about equal to "first-person shooter" in terms of how broad of a genre it can be. If someone tells me a new hero shooter is coming out, I have no clue whether it will be fast-paced or tactical, or whether it will be first-person or third-person. I think Deadlock is much closer to a MOBA (especially Smite) than a shooter.
In a weird way, I feel like Deadlock is actually more relevant to Overwatch than something like Valorant. It's got a similar focus on characters and character expression, while also allowing for the immediacy and impact of a shooter instead of what you would get from a moba. Obviously it comes with a lot of Moba baggage that makes it further removed from Overwatch than something like Rivals, but I think it has a surprising amount of overlap. I'm not surprised to see a lot of Overwatch streamers picking up on it.
@@lucaswilliams7280 Overwatch streamers maybe, but I don't know about Overwatch casuals. I feel like people who just casually game don't want to learn the builds and complexities of a game like Deadlock. More likely, I think it pulls in players from MOBAs, like DOTA and LoL.
Are you tired of Hero Shooters?

Yes. Boomer shooters >>>>>>>
Marvel rivals was peak, I’m so excited
The genre I love personally since one can never be perfect

I'm hyped for Marvel Rivals, though I don't think I'll ever completely drop OW, I can see my attention being split once it comes out

same here
Valorant is way more tactical than hero shooter. I tried, but is not for me
Yeah it's funny how little direct competition Overwatch has gotten until now. I really wouldn't describe Valorant or Apex Legends as hero shooters.

They will never run out of new heroes as there are over 80,000 characters in the Marvel multiverse
I only played spiderman and I’m hooked
I just have a signle problem and it that the game is third person

I lost my gaming group on Overwatch 2 due to some drama, might end up switching to Rivals since I mostly solo queue anyway

RIP gundam evolution 💔
I'd like to see an openworld multiplayer hero shooter. Like a modern version of city of heroes.
Good points about balance. Overwatch may eventually start allowing bans like moba games

How is aiming in rivals? Is it similar to overwatch?
@@Vizorfam Sort of, it's obviously a third person game but the learning curve for aiming is not that high

Marvel Rivals is literally OW2's only competitor. Valorant is CS:GO 2's. Deadlock is Smite 2's.
But we also got paladins 😂🎉
@@janvandenhooren9397 it was thrown to the curb years ago. Sadly, it isn't a serious competitor for rivals or overwatch
