Bird is the saddest excuse for a protagonist I've seen in a while. Never wins, barely grows, and his teammates are fine with it. That also means they can't afford to lose matches or have any kind of growth themselves. They just have to be experienced and skilled from start to finish while Bird eats shit.
Bird constantly losing just makes the matches of the other members of Team Persona so uninteresting. It would be cool to see Multi lose again and tackle her mental state when the spotlight isn't on her (a character moment shown in EP 3). Unfortunately, Bird needs to be carried.
I've kept count of birds loses including off screen its currently at 49 - 0 if you wanna correct me thats fine but that doesn't change the fact he hasn't won
@@aquilaxtremeGTnot at all, metal is very interesting until you realize that it's just bulshit moments happening for the sake of one specific characters (and honestly, plastic gen was more interesting, even if it suffered the same problem)
The biggest mistake of this show is taking the concept that the fans love and trying to create a series about the less fun of the 2 routes that you can explore. Dragon ball fans watch dragon ball for the unrealistic beam struggles and fight scenes, Demon slayer fans watch because of the unrealistic breathing styles and the art they create, and Beyblade fans watch because we want the unrealistic aspect of summoning a bladers spirit. The realistic part of beyblade is just tops, and that’s not what we want to watch.
Not true. This question was asked on reddit and actually the answers are very diverse. 1/3 wants all fantasy, 1/3 wants powerful beys in sport and 1/3 wants no fantasy only sport.
@@Ponchik-md5uqso beyblade fans are a mixed one what we want and it seems that burst was able to mix the three fantasy style matches with bladers spirits powerful beys and some slice of life moments that go in between
The reason why the battles aren't that good is because this anime is rushed, the studio which worked on burst also works on X and the animation team didn't really get much time and already started with X But the recent battles like Kamen X vs Burn, King vs Burn,Kadovar vs Multi are decent so we can expect better battles as the series goes on And yeah Kamen X is technically the main protagonist were bird is a side protagonist
Maybe it's because I'm heavily biased towards Burst, but even early Season 1 Burst had much more engaging battles compared to what I seen of X. Valt actually progressed as a blader and was getting stronger everyday. Bird is being given the shaft.
Exactly, the anime should’ve waited another year. Or at least till the summer. Burst was much more expressive and fluid in animation even from season 1. The X anime is more static and don’t get me started on Bird/Ronin’s writing
The Pokemon Sun and Moon team was also rushed and guess what the head animator (forgot the role name) said? Your animation budget is a stamina bar; know when to use it. The issue isn't the animation but a similar rule applies to writing. In this instance all they had to do IS NOT MAKE IT SO THEY'RE LOSING ALL THE TIME.
According to TT themselves, it's actually Ekusu who's the main character, not Bird, which makes sense since it's his bey - DranSword - that is always front and center on the promotions. Although Team Persona as a whole is regarded as the main protagonist. Regardless, your point still stands. Bird is inevitably going to get his big win eventually, but watching him lose EVERY SINGLE TIME is getting really, really old. I have a terrible feeling that his first win will come in the big battle against Team Pendragon at the end of the season, which will be absolutely ridiculous. And it's looking increasingly likely that that will be the case.
Multi defeats Shiguru 3rd Pendragon or Chrome defeats Multi Ekusu defeats 3rd Pendragon Chrome defeats Ekusu Bird defeats Chrome Or he does not win and we get Beyblade F(uck)
They just seemingly don't know how to create compelling characters. I hate main characters that win every battle, as I no longer root for them. Why would I if the stakes are as low as "There might be one draw". Even Gingka who was OP had at least well written battles.
With this I confirm why I never trusted in Beyblade X anime to the point of skipping it and see better animes with more potential. My prediction is that if this thing with Bird Kazami continues, it will have serious repercussions in the ratings, otherwise it's happening in a faster ratio. Seeing Bird Kazami losing all the time makes me wish to be him, but more smarter and useful, considering my past good experience as a blader.
Bird has negative plot armour didn't think that was even possible. Also the manga is on chapter 12 and they are already at the top floor about to fight pendragon the pacing is wack
I think people are forgetting Bird doesnt actually belong in the X tower. He isn't a pro. He got carried by X in episode 1. He's losing because he's battling people WAYYYY above his league. People that actually earned the pro title so even if he does train (which he does) those people will still be on top. It'll take a long time to actually catch up Yes he lost to NPCs but they actually made it to X tower as far as we know. Bird is basically a low rank player going up against high ranked players Do I think it's a good story? No. Does it make sense? Yes
Think I'm about to start watching the anime soon. But I do think a character like bird can work, people complain when characters win all the time now someone loses all the time and people still complain. I do get it but this is basically like a newbie pokemon trainer being thrown at the elite 4 you wouldn't even make past the trainers in the dungeon leading up to them. You'd lose every single match no matter how much training you did. But it does make me question if bird got in wouldn't there be other newbies like him that got in this only makes sense if everyone else is better then he is. But based on the trailer the story seems more about having fun then winning. Which I believe is what X is trying to show Bird. But I do think he should win sometimes 0-49 is a tad overkill.
@@kai8617 Yeah, if everyone is also training, them you have to find your niche that only fits you to, at the very least, have an upper-hand against others in the competition. Your comment made me think of another anime, a top tier fighter there that said the same thing to the weak MC (primary), but compared to Bird, the MC there did find his own way to fight, as a support to the Ace of their team, but Beyblade is a solo battle kind of game/show.
The worst part about beyblade x not cooking is because it can cook, the manga is cooking hard, but the anime just doesnt want to 2:38 Valt's flash launch was faster like bro 💀 btw i feel like the real protagonist is kamen
It's not that you feel it, it's that literally the protagonist is Kamen He's basically that character who tries to improve but doesn't succeed. He's just the deuteranologist, because the most important battles, against the most important guys, have been had by Kamen, not Bird, so it's not too much of a bother. I would like this to be seen on the side of kamen and not bird, which should have been like this a long time ago.

Very good video, highlights a lot of the issues with the Beyblade X anime, I don't really think anything will change or get better, part can be blamed on the circumstance of the anime being forced out leading to a lot of poor execution, but things like how the battles are paced and aspects like that the anime is not doing well at all. I personally believe they should've had the anime delayed, but alas we get what only really has the story going for it and overall weak in other aspects for what makes a Beyblade season. I wanted to do a video like this near the end of the season but you hit a lot of the talking points I was gonna say LOL
Thanks! I've heard the anime is like this because of a lack of content to adapt in the manga. The anime should have just followed its own plotline. Similar to how the Dragon Ball Super Manga and Anime are handled.
I genuinely feel like we need to boycott this anime into a rewrite. This generation had so much hype around it, for it to fumble this hard bc of a poor anime/manga series would be heartbreaking
5:14 that would be really good if Bird win that, but that was a filler episode. The manga is monthly, so there is plenty of filler content in the anime. Till episode 25 only 7 chapter adapted and from 26 is a filler arc is where the anime right now.
I think the anime is running into a similar problem that fairy tail had, which is it leads you to view bird as the main character, but in reality it's Ekusu being the real main character for most of the show. My best guess is they want to show how hard it is to make it as a pro and that small improvements dont make you an insta op winner, but the way they did it is just...not good.
Tbf Natsu was always the MC Bird was supposed to the the MC and was getting done so dirty that they revoked his protagonist license and gave it to Kamen X
burst basically did this but better they made it into somewhat a sport anime(maybe not with sponsors and everything but has sports elements), burst had way more interesting story lines but also had some of the best main character development in beyblade so seeing it go from burst to a more trashy version of burst is kinda sad, and im saying this as a metal fight fan i like metal fight more than all the other gens but burst did what it intended to do well(uptil season 3) from the visuals to the story X disappointed

though the series mainly gets told through birds pov, the creator of the manga and the show said that the main protagononist is Kamen X and the secondary is bird.
I gave up watching around episode 13 too, and I also felt got robbed of his first win against the street bladers, I really wanted to like bird and I still do, but nobody likes a loser, 30+ episodes in and still not one dub, killed me to hear that.
It's a damn shame because I like all the other characters in X so far but Bird is dragging it down so hard. And that's also a shame because he seems like a cool person character wise but this whole issue of him never scoring a win is hitting a ridiculous degree. I think this issue is amplified further by the number of people who have Bird confused for the protagonist, when it's been officially stated that the protagonist is actually Ekusu. We are just watching the anime from Bird's perspective because he's our audience surrogate since he's the newbie being introduced to X for the first time just like us watching for the first time.
The people who make beyblade said straight up that Bird wasn't the main character. Basically, they all are the main characters. That's why they all have a role to play on their team. Bird I the new inexperienced blades that was forced to be the leader because the other 2 were already successful and knew he needed a confidence booster and I honestly think they will keep having Bird lose until he gets a new model of his original Bird beyblade that was broken in episode 1. Maybe a bird/ hell scythe fusion. Oh and read the manga because that whole street gang thing isn't in the manga. They just added that to pad the run time, and they couldn't have him have his first win in some filler episode or artificial B plot
It should've released in April like MFB and Burst did when they originally came out, it then would've had 6 more months of development time if it did in April 2024 instead of its original October 2023 release. It was clearly rushed and it sucks this is the end result of that.
THIS! SO MUCH THIS!! My main problem with X (manga included) is that Persona and bird keep progressing, but Bird makes no tangible improvements. To spare y'all an essay if they wanted to keep Bird constantly loosing then he should've kept failing Kadovars test. You can't rank up unless you deserve to be at that rank, and if you deserve to be at that rank you should be winning fairly often against those lower rank to you. As it is now X is going for faux realism that makes it unenjoyable, if you want to make a realistic sports anime make that but you can't say the anime is realistic when it'd literally be impossible for Bird to get to the rank he's at without winning once. As it is now we've got the wost of both worlds and it'd have been better to just do an unrealistic Shonen series like MFB, OG or Burst.
THANK YOU. I was done with series after episode 13. The writers are just dragging the kid through the mud for the sick thrill of it and that is NOT how you write. Bird can have a higher loss record but losing every battle including ones he damn well should win if only for subtle progress (boy should not be losing to randos or at most should be 75/25ing them). This is new age writing and like all new age writing I cannot stomach it.
Bird is as Uninspiring and boring as his Character Design. Literally a Colour Swap of Valt with Aiger Colour Scheme. It’s absolutely wild how the series went from Tyson doubling his goddamn winder, learning a Dash Start, learning to make his Beyblade walk on water lmao to Bird getting cucked in every way possible. I truly believe Beyblade X is gonna be the Shogun Steel of the Burst Series.
i think they author only bring bird cause it make multi and ekkusu shine, we even use a term "Bird moment" when we play local tournament when everything seem right and yet lose by a fkng random recoil in low spin sent straight into the pocket. in the manga too when bird playing mirror he still lose like gaddam
I wouldn't say you understand the story at all if you think bird should win. It's like being subpar at fighting games but playing at an evo level. Bird is below an amateur. Even a pro is wondering if he's even a pro. They are PROS. If you are in any sport, the majority of people aren't gonna be lebron. You're gonna be a spectator
man there is no other bey blade series that is amaizing like bey blade burst with the beloved character valt he had been amazing,he is and he will remain in our heart forever and no other bey blade main character like him as i seen.
Bird isn’t the main character. It’s X. The show is called beyblade X. It’s stated that X is the main character. This video clearly demonstrates you have the wrong protagonist. Look it up too if you have doubts.
The best example of this plot done right is in the first season of Cardfight Vanguard. The MC Aichi is outmatched in both skill and experience until like episode 40. He doesn’t feel like a bum because he does win fights but he still feels like an underdog compared to the top Cardfighters.
Beyblade Metal Series both anime and real world was peak beyblade. The storyline of the series was amazing, plus the real world application was so easy to understand and customise with other beyblades. Also, the designs were so much cleaner and eye appealing. These new series and beyblades can be good but not as great as the original and metal Series
I like the anime. It's grounded. I'm also Multi-Biased. I also like the contrast of RL vs anime. Because you watch the anime, and then get overwhelmed when you actually fight with the physical beys. In real life, For once, WE'RE the real protagonists. We're the REAL anime. The old anime are better, I have a soft spot for the plastic gen show since I grew up with it they're great great, battles are insane, sure. but I honestly don't mind this show! :D Really good video, puts a nice perspective on thing. X'es opening though. I love it so much! the most!
true, but what more, they show that bird is amazing in everything but beyblade - he's a sushi master, he's an athlete to the level none of the monstrous pros could catch him in that zoo chase episode... he got under maiden, x and multi's training and has 2 custom made bey just for him... and he didn't win a single battle... if he was going against the other team's ace every time as a gag, it could've been funny, just for him to pull a cool win, and declare that those compare to those he went against the current opponent is a joke... but, alas, he lost to every damn person that has a bey... it's worse than ash and the pokemon league situation.
At first I thought it would be a good job, but then it turned out to be visual pollution. Frankly, the anime is very bad... If I were in their place, I would just make the beys... Beyblade burst still better🔥🔥
I heard back when I dropped X when the manga was still about to reach its 2nd chapter, the anime's mc is supposedly Kamen X instead. Maybe that's why Bird has been really bad (the same reason why I dropped it before it went to a new floor in the tower)
Man I fuck heavy with Multi, even use her beys irl, but I used Hellscythe a couple of times and ain't even that bad, Bird has no business losing that much
An interesting way to fix it is having Bird begin to throw away any wholesome or good traits after losing so much and start to go through a villain arc like Shu from Beyblade Burst Evo, or Aiga's dark-power phase from Turbo
OK so I might have a theory in later down the series that bird is gonna just snap he's gonna just say screw it and start being come like evil like shino because he's like so tired of losing And he's gonna actually get some real practice and all that forcing himself the extreme No distractions etc And getting himself a sort of new beyblade that matches his Evil him
This show is really good to me as someone who just rekindled their love for Beyblades again since the Metal saga, I like that it's more grounded into reality and more so made a into a sport, I too found myself getting frustrated after Bird kept losing, but after a while, I started to feel for him especially around the time he found/met his first fan. At that moment it hit me like "Oh, they're gonna make his win extra important" so now, Im 47 eps deep and they're about to fight Team Pendragon. I'm hoping this series gets a spinoff or season 2 like most Beyblade shows, also imo Idk what the battles in Burst were like, but after trying to rewatch Metal Fusion on Peacock.... I'd rather watch X
Honestly the Beyblade X anime is really trash. Beyblade burst Turbo was honestly the best “realistic” Beyblade series. The Beyblade x toyline is peak tho. They’re releasing the toyline in the west this June, so if you wanna get into Beyblade x, Now is the time!!
I will say the Beyblade X toy line is absolutely cooking that is until Hasbro does the inevitable and starts vomiting their own “gimmicks” and “ideas” all over it like what happened with Fury, and the later Burst Series.
This sounds like the exact opposite problem i had with another show growing up, "LBX". It was basically an anime where people would fight each other with small robots. The problem was that the main character's robot had what was basically a Mcguffin inside of it that could only be removed if the LBX had lost a fight. Which basically meant that all stakes were removed as I knew that the main character was practically guaranteed to win every single fight after that reveal, until they need him to lose against whatever big bad was going to pop up.
Why the hell did they bring back the bit-beast tips on top just to not incorporate them on a show?? That's what made the OG in 2001 so freaken attractive and amazing to watch as kids.

I don't think we give season 1 Kenta enough credit. Benkei of all people was willing to train him and Kenta put in the work. He was able to beat Hikaru. He was close to beating Hyoma and his battle with Reji was a true underdog story. I don't think it's entirely fair to say that Kenta before Fury was THAT weak.
@ashodmiah7924 He means Kenta before his training with Benkei to beat Hikaru. Which tbf I still think Kenta wins since metal fight Beys are still on average pretty strong and Kenta isn't THAT weak.

Bird constantly losing just makes the matches of the other members of Team Persona so uninteresting. It would be cool to see Multi lose again and tackle her mental state when the spotlight isn't on her (a character moment shown in EP 3). Unfortunately, Bird needs to be carried.

@@Ponchik-md5uqso beyblade fans are a mixed one what we want and it seems that burst was able to mix the three fantasy style matches with bladers spirits powerful beys and some slice of life moments that go in between
The reason why the battles aren't that good is because this anime is rushed, the studio which worked on burst also works on X and the animation team didn't really get much time and already started with X
But the recent battles like Kamen X vs Burn, King vs Burn,Kadovar vs Multi are decent so we can expect better battles as the series goes on
And yeah Kamen X is technically the main protagonist were bird is a side protagonist
Maybe it's because I'm heavily biased towards Burst, but even early Season 1 Burst had much more engaging battles compared to what I seen of X. Valt actually progressed as a blader and was getting stronger everyday. Bird is being given the shaft.
@@HelloSayEm6that’s falcon head name well dang with a bey called hellscythe I thought it’d be cooler if that even is his bey

Beyblade X did not cook, but you definitely did my guy
Appreciate it🤝🏾👨🏾🍳
According to TT themselves, it's actually Ekusu who's the main character, not Bird, which makes sense since it's his bey - DranSword - that is always front and center on the promotions.
Multi defeats Shiguru
3rd Pendragon or Chrome defeats Multi
Ekusu defeats 3rd Pendragon
Chrome defeats Ekusu
Bird defeats Chrome
Or he does not win and we get Beyblade F(uck)
They just seemingly don't know how to create compelling characters. I hate main characters that win every battle, as I no longer root for them. Why would I if the stakes are as low as "There might be one draw". Even Gingka who was OP had at least well written battles.
Eitherway the damage is done even ifbhe does get his first win the mfer is 0-49 lmao he'd still be a garbage character in my eyes
yea but ekusu is such a horrible mc like damn his design is ass and his personality sucks and he jus corny
How the heck does him being the main protagonist even make sense? He was already at the top!!!
It'll take a long time to actually catch up
Yes he lost to NPCs but they actually made it to X tower as far as we know. Bird is basically a low rank player going up against high ranked players
Do I think it's a good story? No. Does it make sense? Yes
And also I would like to note while Bird is training so are the people he's trying to beat. It's basically a never ending gap.
The worst part about beyblade x not cooking is because it can cook, the manga is cooking hard, but the anime just doesnt want to

I think the anime is running into a similar problem that fairy tail had, which is it leads you to view bird as the main character, but in reality it's Ekusu being the real main character for most of the show. Yeah x's anime should've been released later down the line, so it could've been more developed in terms of battle choreography
It should've released in April like MFB and Burst did when they originally came out, it then would've had 6 more months of development time if it did in April 2024 instead of its original October 2023 release. It was clearly rushed and it sucks this is the end result of that.
If bird just won more once I would actually watch this anime, not gonna lie beywheelz probably go harder than this entire generations
How is Bird losing with a bey as good as the Hells' line though

Bird is basically valt but worse.

it hasn't been the same since burst ChoZ ended
Bring back the original Beyblade season 4 😭🙏
When mc has no plot armor
This sounds like the exact opposite problem i had with another show growing up, "LBX". It was basically an anime where people would fight each other with small robots.
The problem was that the main character's robot had what was basically a Mcguffin inside of it that could only be removed if the LBX had lost a fight.
Which basically meant that all stakes were removed as I knew that the main character was practically guaranteed to win every single fight after that reveal, until they need him to lose against whatever big bad was going to pop up.
I agree with everything you said here, and honesty, I think the writers hate Bird.
Funny how even Victory Valkyrie's "True Jet Shoot" special move is faster than any Xtreme Dash.
beyblade burst evolution and turbo did it 10 times better

Why the hell did they bring back the bit-beast tips on top just to not incorporate them on a show?? That's what made the OG in 2001 so freaken attractive and amazing to watch as kids.
Watch beyblade burst it's everything X wants to be
bird needs to be genuinely erased as a beyblade mc
bro does not deserve that title
Bird be getting the Gege Treatment
Writers having a beef against a fictional character 😭
Oh SHITT
At least Gege will let the character do something cool before getting packed. Bird isn't allowed to do ANYTHING💀
Spoiler: bird didn’t get a win the whole season, I saw the manga 💀😭
NOOOO🤦🏿♂️
Having a character lose a lot is a good change, actually
Losing the ENTIRE series is NOT a good change. X made you delusional as hell.
@@KillaRai9 thats fair, i hadn't seen X atp i just assumed he lost a few fights and everyone got mad. my L for not watching more than a bit of the video before commenting this
I watched the whole season, and my guy didn't pull a single win until Episode 32, Bird got close, and they hit me with a "Sike" once I though he won with a Ring Out.
I have one question do you think this protagonist can beat season one Kenta pre training arc?
I believe Bird easily wins that fight. But the writers for X would find a way to make him lose😭
Question, how do we properly estimate the power of beyblades from different gens without taking into account the overpowered avatars like L Drago or Longinus?
@@HelloSayEm6it's really simple. Power levels in X and Burst want to be "realistic", so even Valt in his best moment can't beat someone like Tetsuya
The fact you said the series is over 30 episodes in and the MC has NO MAJOR WIN!?! yeah…they don’t want the show to succeed and want the toys to sell more but they are doing it wrong 🙄🤦🏾♂️
He's not the MC Ekusu/Jackson is
