*BONUS TIP* I do dead hangs every other day at the gym. But I also added this little trick. Put enough weight on the Lat-Pull down machine so that you wouldn't be able to work out with it, but you can get it off the plates. Your legs are already wedged in the seat hinge. So instead of the decompression from gravity, this is more like a pull decompression. It feels different, and is a nice extra alternative.
Before two years i couldn't do one arm hang but now i can do 20 sec one arm hand with 5 kg plate in the other hand. It is really about consistency and training. I wanted to know something new about hanging in this video, but is it very hard, because half video time i watched your beautiful dog 🐶 on the couch , i adore dogs and cats
Longest was 65 seconds , in garage from rafters. Threaded pipe with elbows into threaded vertical shorter pipe screwed into bases that are held into the wood by screws. Works great.
I've been dead hanging for about 18 months now. I went from hanging for 5 seconds to 1min50sec. I wanted to start do one arm haning but this is soooo hard!
Nice. I was just going to say that I can't hang for a long time at all (I've only tried it a couple of times). Good to know it gets easier. I miss the days I could do pull ups with ease though.
I have a friend who was diagnosed with this and she has been bedridden for the past nine years. She can’t do anything for herself. She requires two full time, around the clock carers. she would love to know what you did to be able to do dead hangs.
Hey dude i have AS too could please tell me how you do dead hangs, like how many sets and how many times in a week and if you do passive hang or active hang.
Question: I have degenerated disks at the base of my neck, from T1-C6. They cause me me a lot of chronic pain. I've been doing dead hangs for a month and not noticed any problems, but could dead hangs make things worse?
Thanks coach English is that my first language ! if I understood you're right you said if you are doing active hang( pull up )and then switch to dead hang , deadhang would take all the benefits for active hang ! So can l do both if l can get both benefits?
Recently started working out and have been dealing with forearm fatigue in the gym. Did my first dead hang yesterday and did a minute, could have went for a little longer. Feel like that's pretty decent? Wondering why I get forearm fatigue. Still can't do a pull up either
I highly recommend the jayflex pullup bars. I've had issues with those doorway bars, but these have been great. I think a little more expensive, but they fit just about every door frame. There's another company that makes a similar style but I haven't tried them
@@sole__doubt Thanks I checked the link...however this appears to be in the US and I'm European and it's showing pre-order for November or something. oh well
Thanks for this. Hey, I don't remember if you said you were a dad or not in previous videos. If you are, since we know the child grows rapidly and gains weight faster than our bodies can adapt. How did you deal or prevent a sore neck, back hips and shoulders from holding and carrying the baby?
Yes, I am a dad. I recommend wearing your baby more than holding and carrying them. Wear them as much as possible in a carrier. And, inevitably, it still wears down on your posture, so the posture corrector routine in my app is great to use a few times per week. You can use a lot of the exercises in this video too; it’s focused on shoulders and hips: th-cam.com/video/TtGd1qFOFjY/w-d-xo.html
@@MinusTheGym thanks! I will definitely be doing that and I happen to have a lateral pelvic tilt so hips is definitely a focus and I do have the outward feet, a forward head and rounded shoulders. I'm sure I have some anterior pelvic tilt too, so thank you
1 arm hang - how long can you do? I started trying few months ago, felt like arm was going to rip off after 5 seconds. Now I can do maybe 13 seconds comfortably. Feels like it is building strength fast. (Been working on consistently hanging for few years now. Has been amazing for shoulder I dislocated 4 years ago. Can easily do a couple minutes hang with both arms)

Good one!!
what i like about this routine is helps me with shoulder issues

20 seconds one handed is impressive mate. How long did it take you to reach that?
Longest was 65 seconds , in garage from rafters. Threaded pipe with elbows into threaded vertical shorter pipe screwed into bases that are held into the wood by screws. Works great.
I'm wondering, how do you time yourself? It's not like you can hold your phone.

1min50 is a great hold time though. Keep it up! 💪

@@RyanOlsen this week I managed to get to the 2 minutes mark. Don't giveup you will get there
@@rodrigoluizdesouza789Thanks. What benefits have you noticed?
Nicely done, dude! I started at 1 minute 30 seconds and I'm up to 2 minutes and 5 seconds as my record.
i have ankylosing spodylitis...a spine disease. I do dead hangs and get benefit from it...go slow and careful.

Do dead hangs, along with deep squat holds, everyday. My shoulders feel good, my pull ups improved too having barely done any.
Squat hold like horse stance??

My wife is suffering with Parkinson's disease.
Can she do Dead hang exercise
Jesus Christ, it’s not gonna make you taller. Great stretch though, I’m glad I learned about it and incorporated it.

wonderful dog :)
is it ok to use a weight belt with a plate hanging from it for dead hangs instead of a vest?
Yes, absolutely!
Delicious vid.
amazing...now where do I get such a bar to hang on
Go to a park with monkey bars or pullup bars, or find a tree, or a soccer goal

He has links in the description box. I ordered mine from amazon and just make sure you install it properly. Its probably the best $40 Ive spent ever.

I’d say I’m in the 10-15 second range myself with the one-arms. They’re tough, for sure. That’s why I love the weight vest 😊
@@MinusTheGymthanks dawg hanging on my rings with my vest right now tonight!
Can you also do this with rings?
Yeah, for sure! It doesn’t need to be a bar.
It hurts like heck.
Forget the irritating music.

I got a vicious case of golfers elbow from doing too many dead hangs.
My life was not improved.
Sadface.
Dead hangs did not give you golfers elbow.
