Funny that this gets released right after I finish binging the other Timeline videos. Love the format and would love to see other creators take it for stuff like video games, movie releases, anime, manga, just other general nerd culture stuff.
Yea 1997 was massive. WWF finally came out of the doledrums, ECW was really on fire in terms of insane fun violence...and WCW with the nWo was on top and gobbling up talent left and right. It was a crazy chaotic year
I really looked at that Royal Rumble in early 1992 as the grand finale of the WWF as I knew it and what I grew up on from the mid 80s. It had so many stars and such an epic finish. By the end of that year half of the stars that were in the Rumble had jumped ship. The whole 80s vibe was fizzling out and tastes were changing in movies and music by then as well. 1990-1991 still had that 80s vibe for the most part.
@@chrischar9428 No, it's good. If you were excited for say, a US champion to wrestle on TV or PPV, you wouldn't be happy if said champion changed without you knowing
1992 holds a special place in my heart because it’s the year that i became a fan 😊 I was able to catch up on a lot of the stuff from the 80s by renting a lot of tapes at my local video store
Being a child and renting a wwf pov was such a huge part of my childhood w my brother. We d do the entrances, do promos as whoever was fighting in the match. Good times!! Since we didn't rent them in any chronological order, they didn't make sense all the time, but they were still great!!!

1992 was a great year to cover! Please do 1991. This is the year I became a fan of professional wrestling, and would love to learn about what happened overseas in wrestling during that time especially.
I like the timelines by cultaholic a lot but there’s a guy that just recently did 91 and a few others the channel is called wrestle pod check it out if you haven’t
This was the year that the younger talent really got to show what they could do with Hogan out of the way. Bret showed he was one the guys to drive the company towards what would become known as the new generation with Shawn, The Undertaker, Razor Ramon and others.
This is the year i became a wrestling fan, the first match i saw was Flair vs Savage from WM 8 thanks to my grandparents who randomly had the show recorded for them. From then on i could only watch WCW Worldwide on ITV on saturday afternoons as we didn't have Sky then.
At 54:13 you said road warrior hawk and then flash a picture of Animal. Also when referring to the match of Canek and Haku, they're not called Trios matches in CMLL. They're called "Relevos Australianos"
The luchador (who's name I can pronounce but not certain how to spell) trying to shoot on Haku/Meng is a horrifying thought, least the latter had some mercy that night.
U really want a timeline with Lesnar trying to cripple himself with a move he had never done before and hogans run as Mr.America on it? Lest we also forget the amount of screen time Stephanie used to get around then, I think skipping 2003 is a good call on cultaholics part…😂
I think around about a 1992 this is where the American audience was hearing whisperers about what was going on in Japan and started to open our interests.

Did not expect to hear Terre Haute mentioned here, kudos on getting the pronunciation right. Even people from the US can't usually figure out the bastardization of the French words into English.
this series serves a necessary function: CONTEXT. These are a must view for any "real wrestling" fan. (what up to people who love to type "Well, any REAL Wrestling fan... blah blah blah bad take bad take myopic view so on) .
Wow what a year of change 1992 was, just like in rock music the final part of the 1980s was over and in came grunge....and a change of attitude in wrestling....
1992 Starrcade Main Event was to be WCW United States and International Champion Ravishing Rick Rude vs WCW Champion Ron Simmons but Rick Rude was injured a week prior and was replaced with Dr Death Steve Williams
... Dunno if the power bomb screenshot with Vader and critical explanation in the Super Fire Pro 2 footage being in the same video as the event of Vader breaking a guy's back with his powerbomb was the height of bad taste or a genious move lmao

Around this time 10 year old me was a huge WWE fan and not long after I discovered WCW. Brings back good memories, and Vader Vs Van Hammer 😂
I would request 1997. So many pivotal moments happening with the big 3 and over seas. I feel that 1997 can't be denied anymore

Maybe he didn't know the legend of Haku yet,but bah gawd he learned that day
Exactly
This channel is on 🔥🔥🔥 right now. Banger after banger!

Its crazy to think how many AMAZING matches/title changes happened on HOUSE SHOWS that basically NO ONE saw!!! That would NEVER happen today!!!

I don't know which I'm more shocked by: Someone deciding to shoot on Haku, or learning that Rey Mysterio was once 17 years old.
My first love of wrestling was Savage vs Flair, the true main event of Wrestlemania VIII
This was the year that the younger talent really got to show what they could do with Hogan out of the way. Bret showed he was one the guys to drive the company towards what would become known as the new generation with Shawn, The Undertaker, Razor Ramon and others.
Steroid trial forced a switch from the monsters to the athletic wrestlers.
The New Generation was such a low point.
2019 and 2020 Timeline!

I was in the crowd in Saskatoon for the Bret Hart title win. That was a wild event to see.
For me, my particular favorite year in wrestling

Why are these years so random? Just do them in order starting from say 1980 just before the Golden Era.

Wolfbros, we can't let them expose what happened to Big Sexy...
"He tries to shoot on Haku" well, there's one I've never heard before
Can't believe it happened to Kevin R. Nash. What a shame. He couldn't overpower them, but I guess it's easier to just take it and embrace it. Sad.
I liked this video and the Bret/Davey Boy match was great for me as a kid.
A nice touch into the past! I’m hoping for either 2011 that being the year I got into wrestling or 2006
1993 would be nice. What happened in wrestling the year I was born.

Awesome video. But photo of Rob Bartlett, Vince McMahon and Randy Savage was from 1993 episode of Monday Night Raw. 0:11

Nobody gives a fuck about 2020.
In wrestling in 2020 nothing happened goodnight

Should really do one for 96
Would love to see some of these for years that we don't know much about like the 20s or 50s
Nope nope. Way too much out of timeline. For good handful of us majority of wrestling that matters is maybe the mid-80s all the way to 2001
i attended the 1992 Great American Bash in Albany GA, my very first wrestling event.
This is my favorite year in wrestling
