I'd love to see a video on wrestling in 2002 since it was a transitional year especially for WWE. TNA and ROH were both born, the WWF had to legally change its name to WWE and Cena, Orton, Lesnar and Batista made their televised debut and of course the beginning of the Ruthless Aggression era
2001 is a true watershed year for professional wrestling. Few years are as long term important as 2001 with the end of WCW and ECW, the end of the Attitude Era and the Monday Night Wars, Austin turning heel. Even smaller stuff like Jerry Lawler quitting and Chyna's exit from the WWF.
With all due respect I'd honestly say that 2002 was the transitional year from the Attitude era to the Ruthless Aggression. 2002 was the last time Rock and Stone Cold were full time competitors.
I agree sir...I loved professional wrestling through the end of the 80s and all of the 90s...2001 was a awesome, and I loved it...I still wish WCW could have survived though,as I remember turning back and forth between RAW and Nitro...
I can remember Stephs 9/11 testimonial, my jaw dropped when she compared federal government harassment of Vince to 9/11...Was a moment of disbelief and thinking it wasn't going to end well for Steph
@@garylshawiii483 sure those years were good but think about all the filler and has three separate company’s at the time all came to one promotion did not think so
A Timeline for 1994 would be interesting as it was the year where: Hulk Hogan jumped to WCW The 10th WrestleMania was held ECW formed in protest to the NWA and so much more
The business peaked in 2001. Dont get me wrong, we have got a LOT of great stuff in wrestling in the last 20 years but objectively speaking, wrestling was never as hot as it was from 1996-01. The boom period ended in 2001.
@@MegaFinalRound Honestly, I don't think there will ever be another boom period. Society has changed, entertainment has become more diverse and there are far more options to watch now.

Thank you for taking us all back down memory lane:) Wrestling in the 80s and the attitude era of was the best era's in Wrestling history! Edit- do more of these timelines:) they're great!!
2001 was the year I actively started watching as a 10 year old so it was cool to see the other things happening as well as a recap of what was happening in the WWF at that time. Hope to see more of these videos for other years.
My head still hurts just thinking about hearing Shane’s head thunking off the concrete floor. Then to think he goes on to be thrown through glass is insane.
Outstanding job with this video. Fun Facts, Flashbacks, and just FUN to listen to and watch. Are there plans to do TIMELINE in other years. That would be Freaking Awesome
I still say the Invasion wasn't nearly as bad as people have made it out to be. Yes, in hindsight it could've and probably should've been so much more than it ended up being but it was still very entertaining in my opinion. Not knowing who might pop up or switch allegiances made every week can't miss stuff. The shows always genuinely felt lively, spontaneous, and like anything could happen at any moment. Did it live up to its fullest potential? No. Not at all. Was the majority of it entertaining in the moment? I'd say so.
I'll always wonder how the WCW RAW & WWF Smackdown idea would've went had they actually went through with it back in 2001. Great video docu Cultaholic, I loved the nostalgia.
That was a great video. I'd love to see more of these for other great years of pro wrestling. Big props to Sam and the editors and writers for this amazing video
Good addition, hope to see some other notable years. For people new to wrestling, weren’t watching heavily at certain points, or just weren’t born yet at the time, this is mandatory viewing
This year I seem to remember more as a whole than any other year. Maybe it’s the company wide storyline after the rush of the WM build. Seeing Benoit vs. Austin on SmackDown in Edmonton (which got match of the year, correct me if I’m wrong) and then, at years end, watching Jericho become Undisputed Champ… 2001 wasn’t completely bad. RVD’s exciting debut and run definitely had my interest too.
This was great you guys should make this a series do one year a month every month you can drag it out and make it a huge series it would be awesome this was very entertaining thanks cultaholic
True fan of you guys work. I just finished watching this video love it and I really think you guys should turn this into a series. Continue to make great videos
WWE was incredibly brave and valiant in carrying out its programming following 9/11. This will not be forgotten by the old-school fans here in America.
I'm not even out of January yet, and I'm finding myself compelled to make a comment wishing for more of this series. In 5 minutes, I've heard more interesting facts that *I haven't heard before* than any 20 random cultaholic videos you could pull up. I'm not sure if this is an insult or a compliment to be honest, but keep making these and you're gonna get so many more thumbs than I could ever grow myself.
Really enjoyed this! Love seeing more puro content on the channel. Wish there was a dedicated show but I assume that is difficult for TH-cam and NJPW reasons.

Hey do the 40s for the hell of it....🤷🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@team 6 Pro combined 1800-1975 then combined 1976-81 then each year gets a video up to 2010 or so, because after that gets too recent thus boring.
Agreed. This is awesome.
Agreed. I stumbled on this video one night before going to bed & ended it early. I’m gonna have to come back & watch the rest.

Oh that oughta be a fun one 🤣
Definitely on the WWF side, WCW and ECW will be a nice nostalgia trip
Meaning a drunken mess

Timeline sounds like a great thing going forward. This has been very interesting so far.
The historian in me is extremely satisfied. Another series to prove why you guys are the best wrestling channel out there.
Amazing, I can't even imagine the amount of research and writing that went into a video like this, let alone how much is yet to come for the series!
