    I appreciate your ability to reflect on your past tutorials and critique your own explanations. You are one of the few individuals that does not assume prior knowledge on behalf of the viewer and give detail explanations of every little tool/feature.

    I know these are older video's, but I have to use Ableton 10 for the foreseeable future, so I came here to learn. I have to start from scratch, basically. Every journey starts with the 1st step, so here we go.

    great video man... Your explanation of the audio tab has cleared most of my confusion. I have a request though. Can you make a video teaching how to remove noise from recordings like guitars or vocals?

    Good series. one point of contention on this one:
    Unity Gain: When a signal passes through a system or a device without changing level (amplify or attenuate) it is said to be at “Unity Gain”. Unity Gain is fundamental in setting up any audio chain or signal path. (it is not the maximum level before clipping)

    Just a tech note for newbies like me, might having the same issue: When I played a drum sample the playback marker was not in sync with the beats I've heard. After some research I found the reason and got it fixed: The output latency of my audio output device (laptop, win10, internal Realtek audio card with ALC1220 chip) is way too high when using the default MME/DirectX driver. I installed the Win10 ASIO4ALL drivers (v2.14) that helped to reduce the output latency from ~90ms down to 15ms. That's precise enough for my purpose when using Ableton on my laptop away from home. At home I'm using an external audio interface (Audient ID14) that have efficient ASIO drivers already onboard.

      I'm using the scarlett 2i2 audio interface, but am still using the MME/DIRECTX. I don't even have the ASIO option for driver type. I thought if I had an interface, it should be ASIO?

    • @ansgargorgor4103
      @ansgargorgor4103 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      As recommended from Focusrite you should NOT use the ASIO4ALL driver but their original driver related to your audio interface. They already support ASIO and WDM as well. When your Scarlett driver is installed on your device you should see additional input and output channels in your audio settings

    Basic question here but I'm having issue with CPU with original compositions. Tried freezing tracks etc and changing sample rate. Still seems to keep peaking (>60% at times) and causing playback issues. Just wondering if that is common/some important setup issue I'm neglecting.
    I'm on a new enough Macbook air (2017, bought new last August), however I have had operational problems with it since buying it. Just wondering if this could be a problem with macbook airs generally or if this is uncommon?
    Cheers for this content - seriously helpful!
